How do we know our coaching is good and our players are listening? When the team comes out after the 1st intermission and looks like a completely different team. Tip of the hat to DG and his staff. -

Not a Joki fan. He doesn't seem be getting better. -

I like the lines. Asplund and VO always seem to bring out the best in Mitts. Hopefully Tuch will get TnT going. The Cozens line will be the Energizer Bunny line. 45 second a shift of all out effort. -
https://theathletic.com/3704768/2022/10/18/sabres-goalie-prospect-ukko-pekka-luukkonen-rochester-offseason-training/ Nice article on UPL. Basically he is finally fully healthy and spent the summer in Finland getting into excellent physical condition and working with 2 Finnish goalie coaches (who also coach in the NHL) on his game. Result is a fit confident and improved (so far) goalie.

I missed Novikov in my first read as well. Nice catch. So that’s 7 players from our draft, without including Kozak, in his top 127 so to speak. I’d say again, that’s a pretty good sign for the depth in our pipeline. I agree with @dudacekthat Kozak’s absence from the list is questionable. He was basically as effective last year in the CHL as Bloom was and earned a jobnin the AHL as a 19 year old. He should have made the list.

Anders Bjork Clears Waivers, Has Been Assigned to Rochester
GASabresIUFAN replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
NHL contracts are guaranteed. He gets his salary where ever he plays. If he clears waivers, the only exception I know of are if he refuses to go to the AHL like Bogo did a few years ago. At that point the Sabres can terminate his contract. Once he clears waivers, the Sabres would get 1.125 million in cap relief (not that it matters). Interestingly, capfriendly still has Bjork listed on the Sabres as a current roster player. -
Obviously not. Pittsburgh has had to visit Buffalo the last 3 years and we've played them 4 straight. We've played Nash 5 straight including 2019-2021 on the road. Somehow we've only played the Colts and Raiders once in the last 5 years and that was in 2018.
-
I can accept that. They just lose focus like they did last year against Jacksonville.

I guess your definition of fair and mine are different. How is it fair for the Bills to play on the road 3 years straight against 2 of their top opponents in KC (3rd time next year) and Nashville? It's not fair to the Bills or their fans who should be to see their top opponents at home periodically. Frankly, it's also bad for the league. No team should always be on the road against their top opponents. The league needs to spread it around it would be better for competitive balance and for TV. The NFL changes the scheduling formula often. 2022 a new formula was created to add the 17th game. All I'm asking for is that situations like what has happened to the Bills with KC and Nashville be avoided in the future.

That's what the NFL said for year about the OT system.

I don't agree with much of Pronman's comments, but I do agree that Rosen was a reach (I had him late in the first) and that Power might not be the top pick from that class. I really wanted Beniers, but Power was the consensus top pick. Ultimately it doesn't matter. It's how many guys make an impact for the Sabres. Rosen is off to a good start in Roch. Kozak could end of being a huge steal and Kisakov is already playing pro hockey in NA. If 4 of Nadeau, who I also had as a steal on draft day, Bloom, Rosen, Power, Kisakov, Kozak or others make an impact for the Sabres, the draft will be heralded as one of our best ever. I also think it's a great credit to the depth of our prospect pool that 6 of our draftees made the list, before factoring in Kozak and Novikov. The best news is that, other than Power, none of these guys will be forced in the NHL before they are ready. Because of the depth upfront in Buffalo, current Amerks Rosen, Kozak, and Kisakov will all probably get 2+ years in Roch before making their way West to the Sabres. When they make the NHL we can give Pronman a collective raspberry. PS don't count on Sardarian or Marjala. I doubt either every play for the Sabres. Also since I learned at last year's draft that most teams only have a draft board of about 125 names, and usually only about 50-60% of the draftees ever even play an NHL game, Pronman is probably right to limit his list to 127 names.

Are you sure? The stat I’ve seen over and over again was that TNT scored 28 of his 38 once he was paired with Tuch. When I look at the Sabres I see only 3 guys I would classify as playmakers Tuch, Krebs and Mitts. Skinner and TNT need a playmaker.

Best players since expansion: which Sabres make the cut?
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Sort of off topic, but the NHLNetwork had the French Connection as the 2nd best line of all time. That said Perreault will make the list but maybe top 50. No Cups. -
Anders Bjork Clears Waivers, Has Been Assigned to Rochester
GASabresIUFAN replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I don't think the NHL does re-entry waivers anymore. Now that Bjork has cleared waivers he can be recalled at any time and as long as he doesn't play 10 games or stay for 30 days he won't have to go through waivers again to be sent down even with a standard recall. -
Simple, swap the Bills to a home game and flip another divisional opponent to KC for their home game. Will this have a domino effect? Sure, but guess what they have computer programs that will make the adjustment. Romo said that the Bills will be going to KC next season as well. Assuming we are the higher seeded team this year how does that make sense? At some point, if the system you created isn't working you change it, just like the playoff OT rules.

….and there was much rejoicing. -
I don’t think DG agrees with you. Mitts lead all centers in TOI against FLA. He was second among all forward to Tuch overall and on the PK and was first in PP. He also lead the team in faceoffs with 18 winning 12 including all 4 on special teams. He is also +2 for the year. DG pointed put these stats following the game. I think he just looking to get guys going and to see who else may exhibit some chemistry. However, I think he is happy with the effort he is getting from Mitts.
-
No team should have their biggest game of the year on the road 3 years straight. I understand the scheduling rules as you laid them out, but at some point common sense has to prevail.
-
So next year will be 3 straight RS home games for KC. That still is a bunch of BS
-
Did you here when Romo said we are going again to KC for the 4 straight season next year. What a bunch of crap.
-
Why not the top scoring line since no one else other then that line and Tuch are doing anything.
