  1. Wheeler’s top 10 drafted goalies https://theathletic.com/4168862/2023/02/14/top-nhl-goalie-prospects-2023-jesper-wallstedt/ Devon Levi 4th Portillo and UPL Honorable Mention.
  2. Sadly it won’t be any time soon. He has backstopped back them into NCAA tourney consideration. NE is now around 16th in the hockey polls and beating Harvard should move them up.
  3. After watching him last night, he may better than all our goalies right now. Wheeler has him 4 (of 10) on his list of drafted goalie prospects. Portillo and UPL get honorable mentions.
  4. They need to move the puck quicker and have plays for someone other than Thompson as well. The PP is like a basketball team’s half court offense. If the offense is just standing around it’s easy to defend. If the ball is moving quickly and high too low it forces the D to move as well creating open shots and easier passes to the post. The PP is no different.
  5. 11 GA in the last 4 periods. impressive. No we don't need any help on defense or in goal.
  6. So disjointed. One to many passes. We aren't shooting enough.
  7. They are wondering why we aren't scoring. Easy. Were sloppy and aren't physical enough. Marty isn't happy and correctly so.
  8. Levi with a great save to send the game to a SO.
  9. 2-2 15 seconds left. Levi has 30 saves on 32 shots. Heading to OT. First Bean Pot final between Harvard and Northeastern.
  10. The first thing they teach you in law school is that the answer to all questions is “it depends.” It depends on the strength of the draft, the pick no, the quality of the player once drafted, how that player develops, the players contract status etc….. For example take former Sabres 6th rd pick Brandon Hagel. In his D+1 season his production back tracked and although offered a contract he didn’t sign and went back into the draft. He wasn’t drafted. In his 20 year old season he scored 102 pts and was given a 3 year ELC from the Blackhawks. He was ok in his AHL season with 31 pts in 59 games. Did Ok in the NHL with 24 pts in 52 games the next year. Then suddenly he breakouts and posts 21 goal for the Hawks in 55 games last year before being traded to TB for two 1st rd picks. He has 46 pts in 52 games this season. Chicago had resigned him after his 1st NHL season for 3 years @ 1.5 per season. So what were his trade values along the way? Zero for much of his development and then suddenly, given his contract and production, 2 1st rd picks. What is TnT’s value now? What was it after last season with another year on his cheap deal? As to Johnson and Mitts, Johnson is worth at least a 2nd (our compensation is he doesn’t sign) and Mitts has move value than you think. Guys who have cost control and decent production are worth a considerable amount.
  11. I don’t know about that. To many injuries on D, but it would have been much more likely.
  12. Talk about over reactions. This team is just fine, but needs some luck health wise and a couple O-Lineman. Remember this team went 13-3, with the 3 losses by 8 points in arguably the best Div in football. All this despite so many injuries to key players on both sides of the ball. There probably aren’t any OLine game changers at 28, but with a little luck TE Darnell Washington will be there. He can transform this offense like he did for GA. He is a 6th OL, is a wall to run behind, can pass block and give Josh a giant red zone/end zone target. He’ll allow Knox to work as a Kelce Goebert type receiver. In the 2nd Beane should grab an inside OL and in the 3rd there are 4 really good safeties who could be available, Battle (Ala), Smith (GA) and the kids from Penn St and Fla St. Any of the 4 could start immediately if necessary. After that another OL, a RB, and a LB should be on the radar.
  13. https://theathletic.com/4163836/2023/02/13/top-nhl-prospects-2023-logan-cooley/ Wheeler’s top 50 drafted non-goalie prospects. Savoie 10, Kulich 26, Östlund 44 and Rosen HM. Wheeler likes Savoie’s speed and shot. He loves Kulich’s ability to play any role given to him and his NHL shot. Like Östlund skating and two-way game, but needs to add more strength as he moves up. No team has more than 4 players in his top 50, (CBJ and Minn). Sabres and Habs w 3 each.
  14. Because DG doesn’t give up on s kid after one bd game. Those entire team stunk on Sat.
  15. I wonder if he’ll put UPL back in to show his confidence in him.
  16. Lol. He wasn’t running from the defense. He was running an RPO and dropped the ball.
  17. What does Jalen dropping the ball have anything to do with Philly’s line? Nothing. Their line just helped them convert a bunch of 4th downs and Hurts is completing 90% of his passes. So sure their line sucks.
  18. At least one Bill got to the Super Bowl. Looking good Damar.
  19. I hope Beane is watching this Super Bowl. Everyone on offense gets better when you have a good O-Line. He needs to draft 2 OL early and get 2 more through trades or free agency.
  20. Sabres D NHL experience 1 - Dahlin, Age 22 - 327 games 2 - Lyubuskin, Age 28 - 248 games 3 - Jokiharju, Age 23 - 242 games 4 - Bryson, Age 25 - 154 games 5 - Samuelsson, Age 22 - 90 games 6 - Clague, Age 24 - 79 games 7 - Power, Age 20 - 56 games Total experience 1196 NHL games Luke Schenn, age 33 - 915 NHL games over 16 NHL seasons. He has 18 pts this season and is a +8 on a terrible Van team, averaging over 17 minutes a night. He is also a Right handed shot. He also has 39 games of playoff experience.
  21. Yes. Even a 2nd rd pick. I’d kindly suggest doing some research. He has been good the last 4 years. He has multiple Cups, is excellent in the D Zone and brings veteran leadership to a D group desperate for it. Don’t forget our most experienced D is our 22 year old all-star.
  22. Good thing they are heading back on the road. They can win out West.
  23. There should be a FIOS app on Roku.
  24. Apparently they still were in the Bahamas.
