Really a very good game for the Sabres. They started quickly and played fast all game. Except for a couple of bonehead plays (yes Casey that was stupid play), the Sabres drove an old and tired Caps team into the ground. UPL still is very mediocre IMHO. Cozens was fantastic today and his line drove play most of the game. Besides the bonehead play, Mitts made two great plays to assist Cozens on two of his 3 goals. Defense, without Dahlin, needs some serious help (are u listening KA?), but overall an exciting and solid team effort. Has anyone sent out a search party for VO? I don't remember him even touching the puck today.

UPL is still bad. Sorry but that is just the way it is. I’m not writing him off, but we need the roster spot and we’ll be better off with an extra d or forward, especially with Tuch out for weeks to come.

Trade a 2nd for Jordan Greenway. That actually helps the now and the future. He’ll add a physical presence and is young enough to be here for a while. DG does his magic and we get something good for nothing. Also go get Schenn already. Now needed more than ever.

That’s what people said about Jost as well. It’s a moot question anyway since we don’t have a roster spot. However, once he clears waivers and goes to the A, I wonder if we could trade for him, get the pens to retain some salary and then place him in Rochester.
