  1. Kapanen was waived today by the Pens. Has another year at 3.2. Could he be another DG reclamation project? The guy is only 26 and has been a 40+ point player in the NHL. Also had 30 pts in 40 games in 2020-21.
  2. So your saying there’s a chance. The Athletic’s model sucks. It uses past seasons in it’s calculations.
  3. Sabres win on back to back nights taking 4 points on a Florida trip. Anderson stops 53 of 54, Tnt adds 3 assists, Skinner scores 2 to get to 600 pts for his career and the Sabres are in a playoff spot.
  4. Great win. Anderson was unbelievably good. 1st line was also great.
  5. If the NHL wants real justice they suspension is the next two games against Buffalo and they can’t replace him in the lineup. Therefore they can only dress 17 skaters those games. In addition in the first game Buffalo starts the game on the TB zone with a 5 minute PP. I have said since the Drury hit against Ott that the only cure for head shots is the make the penalty serve and to make the team also suffer for the players bad judgement. I also think that if an illegal play causes an injury, the perp sits out as long as the injured player.
  6. Are they being held out for trade purposes?
  7. The list was compiled through interviews with players and team executives of players they consider centers. Apparently many in the NHL still hold Eichel is high regard. FYI: 5 of the 10 were 1st overall picks. Barkov was 2nd, Draisaitl was 3rd, TNT 26th, Bergeron 45th and Point 79th. I’ve added a poll question. Players are listed by their current points per game production for the players scoring at least 1 pt/gp. I’ve also listed others like Bergeron, Kopitar and Aho who people argue should be considered in the top 10. FYI Cozens is currently 33 in pts/gp by NHL centers.
  8. The penalty on Dahlin was pretty dirty as well. I thought cross check from behind deserved at least a 5 minute minor.
  9. All 3 guys on that line have improved their playmaking since being put together. Skinner especially. Ralph did get Skinner to be more defensively aware at least. Skinner is still mediocre as a back checker, but at least he does it now.
  10. I've added some poll questions. They are incomplete, I'd like some nominations. Please post a video if you can so that I others can see the highlight. Thanks
  11. Talk about taking poor Jeffrey for granted.
  12. Mulled wine. Dare I say the most important game of the season so far after looking at the standings. Det won last night. Caps and Pitt both lost. 5 team race for two slots with Buffalo, Fla, NYI, Det and Pitt. 2 points separating 4 of the teams.
  13. Montreal. Columbus. Ducks. Buffalo’s cap space.
  14. Here are some videos of the nominees so far. Power’s OT Winner (His 1st of the year) Lyubushkin’s SH OT Winner - His 1st of the year and 1st as a Sabres. Tuch’s OT winner over Boston on New Year’s Eve
  15. Lyubushkin’s SH OT goal got me thinking. Dangerous I know, but I began to wonder if this is the highlight of the season so far. The others that come to mind were Anderson’s milestone victory, TnT’s first 6 pt night against Det or his 5g/6p night against CBJ. Also Dahlin’s NHL record 5 game goal scoring streak by a D to start the season. Oh yeah, tonight was TNT’s league leading 4th hattie of the season. Power’s OT against Dallas was a great play and Tuch OT winner against Boston on New Year’s eve was pretty memorable as well. Other thoughts?
  16. But making the playoffs and giving a young team that experience is extremely valuable long-term. While it’s highly unlikely they’ll win a series even if they make it, it isn’t impossible. Don’t forget that there is also value for the players when the GM shows faith in the team by adding at the deadline.
  17. Here is the list by the way. 1. McDavid 46-63-109 (59 games) - 1.85 pts/gp. Best center, best player 2. Matthews 26-31-57 (51 games) - 1.12 3. MacKinnon 19-48-67 (48) - 1.52 4. Crosby 25-44-69 (57) - 1.21 5. Draisaitl 35-52-87 (57) - 1.53 6. Barkov 16-34-50 (49) - 1.02 7. Point 34-31-65 (57) - 1.14 8. Huges, Jack 35-37-72 (54) - 1.33 9. Bergeron 20-21-41 (56) - .73 10. Thompson 39-36-75 (56) - 1.34 11. Eichel 18-22-40 (44) - .91 HM Petterson 28-47-75 (56) - 1.34
  18. https://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/insider/story/_/id/35712543/ranking-nhl-top-centers-execs-players-vote-best Tage finished 10th just edging out......wait for it.........can you guess?......... Jack Eichel!!!!!! LOL
  19. I didn't even mention the porous defense and bad goaltending even once. Oops! I guess I just did.
  20. Adding depth on defense isn't going crazy. It's something that KA needed to do last summer and didn't manage to get done. If he can manage to add depth with term, then he has bolstered the D for this season and beyond.
  21. That's not the ending, but Tina does drop-kick Ike a few times in that special place. The sad part was it took Tina 16 years of abuse to realize it.
  22. I maybe wrong, but I think this is the first SH OT winner for the Sabres.
