Does Rasmus Dahlin need a change of Scenery?
JoeSchmoe replied to Crusader1969's topic in The Aud Club
He won't beat you with speed, but he'll twist you into a pretzel with his edges. No one on the team, F or D can do what he can do. -

Honestly, on the offensive side of the puck he's the most entertaining Sabre by far. I still wish he was moved to F... He would be a regular on the highlight reels. On D one mistake can lead to a GA, so he's limited on using his crazy edges and shiftiness. Put him on the wing, and it would be non-stop deking teams out of their jock straps. -
Dunleavy has a good voice, and I know I'm in the minority but I actually like his silly banter with Ray as well. As I've said many times before, he's just not good technically. I listen to a lot of games from the car and it's nearly impossible to know what's going on. Also, as a local broadcaster it'd be nice if he had a little more old school passion for the team. I know he cut his teeth doing national broadcasts where you have to be neutral. But, a local announcer should be the number one guy rallying the fans... Just like RJ! 😢

I was supposed to be there but the stupid border. My tickets went to waste as no one picked them up. Shoulda just gave them away to someone here.

I could be wrong because I've never eaten there, but I think some for restaurants the kitsch factor is part of the experience. The message is that they serve for good old timey food. I think there's quite a few steakhouses that adhere to this principle.

Perhaps my attempt at humour failed... I meant that the name was unbelievable, because it was in fact made up.
-
Lots of good ones but the one that almost seems unbelievable to me is Taro Tsujimoto.

There are no ads worse than Canadian Tim Hortons commercials. Every single one of them is puke worthy. Trust me... Your US commercials you think you hate are very good in comparison.

Yes. That was our plan until the government got backed up in testing. Now there's a chance we wouldn't get the results in the required 72 hours.
-
I believe you have to quarantine for a stupidly long time if you don't get the test. Our plan B once they started the testing requirement was to fake symptoms to get a test on our side for free. A symptom free test is $200. Unfortunately now there's a testing backlog and it's unlikely we'd get the results back in the required 72 hours.
-
Unfortunately, they charge $160 for next day results. I just looked... The next day test is $125 here. It looks like it's $175.

My brother and I bought tix to the Jan 6 Sharks game when the border was wide open. We're planning to stay downtown after the game to make a night of it. Now it looks like we need a PCR to return to Canada. Is there anywhere that offers a test to non-residents that's cheap enough to justify going over for a game? Everywhere I'm looking is either too much $ or has a too long turnaround time to be worthwhile. Any thoughts?

Pick #14 (13th player): LW/RW Isak Rosen (SHL)
JoeSchmoe replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Without checking, I'm going to say they were all elite point producers despite their size (and/or were taken below Rosen). Rosen on the other hand did not have elite numbers prior to being taken early/mid first round. -
There A LOT of ppg players in the Swedish U20 League. Most of whom aren't likely to be as small in stature as Rosen. Again, if he's normal size or bigger I don't mind the pick at 14. If he's this size, but a much better proven point producer, I don't mind the pick. Given both shortcomings, I hate the pick. Hopefully, he develops and I wear egg on my face for this.
-
The issue with the Rosen pick is there wasn't overwhelming production to compensate for his small size, save for a small sample size at the U18's. Usually at 14th you can get a small kid with great numbers like a Caufield, or a bigger kid like a Zemgus that you may (or may not) be able to develop into a top liner.

Anyone watch the game today? -
It's too bad for sure. They were / are one of my top 3 favourites. In my younger days I was good friends with the professor's nephew, but I couldn't care less about Rush then. In my late teens onwards, I caught the bug, but never got to meet the band. I think I've listened to Hemispheres 7 or 8 times in the last 2 weeks, with some live All the World's a Stage mixed in there. After Geddy's voice went though I lost my taste for them live. I don't like that weird falsetto sound he does to help hit the notes he could easily hit in the younger years. Most of the songs I like best are almost fully out of his range now.

Its time for Rosen to prove me wrong over the next week or two (hopefully he does). I'm definitely not impressed with his 4pts in 26 games in the SHL... Let's hope he shows some of whatever Adams saw when he plays against the world's best that are his own age. -
Who Does KA Trade at the Deadline and What Does He Get For Them?
JoeSchmoe replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
At first I hated this, but I just checked he's under contract for long enough and cheap enough that it is a good move. Overall though, in a cap world I'd never give up 1st's and blue chip ELC's for guys you're going to have to pay $$$$$ in another year or so. That's the biggest (but not the only) reason why we sucked coming out of the 1st tank. -
Not to mention it's a virtual guarantee that some police force or fire department will move you to the front of the line of applicants at the end of your career if that's your thing. If you've made sure to get your education, there's a lot of good sales jobs to be had... Or if that's not your thing, there's the skilled trades

This year, KO has factored on 7 of Girg's 11 points.
-
Okposo is pacing to get 54pts. The other two put together are well behind him.
-
Hindsight being 20-20, I think the LOG line and the other recent successful 4th lines, were a product of Okposo carrying the dead weight. Sorry Larrson fans.
