My son is already calling Helenius the garbage man because he loves battling in front of the net and scoring the garbage goals. Def not afraid to battle. Seeing the vision scouts talk about. Haven’t noticed much of a shot yet.

I’m here now and omg I love his hands and quick starts and stops. It’s dev camp and I’ve been to enough to know not to rely on what I’m seeing today but he’s very impressive. Kleber looks like a monster and likes to battle but he’s fumbled a couple picks already. Hopefully he can develop some better hands. Zimmer looks pretty good. Just scored a beauty.

Was fine with the buyout if they needed the space this year but wtf are we kicking that cap consuming contract down the road for if they’re not using the savings in 24-25? We already had more than enough room for what’s been done. Obviously offseason isn’t over but would have thought they were confident in some sort of plan to initiate the buyout this summer vs next.

Agreed. But I think we’ve reasonably improved our bottom 6 and depth to the point that we’re one big move from a decent to nice offseason. Obviously we need to see that last big move come to fruition tho.

Sure but then we’re in that D market instead no? Some pretty ‘interesting’ D signings today that I’m glad we’re not having to partake in.

To be fair our lack of secondary scoring and third line that also killed us last year. I want the top 6 upgraded also but needed to change what were icing in the middle of that lineup

The only positive spin I see is we traded a prospect that won’t be NHL ready for 3+ years (if at all) for a guy who should be able to step in and hopefully help PK and 4th line next season. Maybe they could have got someone equivalent on July 1. The playoff drought and lack of interest in joining this franchise seems more obvious this offseason than in recent memory. Sabres have to overpay and it sucks. It needs to change. They need to start winning. Sickening we’re at this point.

One and three seem like basically the same option. Either one of those would piss me off more than just keeping him and eating another year of cap hit.
