Disagree. This is his fifth NHL season and entering the prime years of his career. If he fails it’s because he will never be that player we’ve hoped for, not because he’s too young. Some players on this team are still inexperienced for their roll (Benson perhaps but he’s shown he belongs there). Cozens doesn’t fit that description. He’s not too young. He’s not too inexperienced. If not year 5 then when?

Rosen was a big disappointment last night. Made a nice play on his first shift to turn the puck over and quick pass to create a counter attack but then disappeared the rest of the evening.

I’ve seen literally 6 different people with bruins gear on looking like scouts. Wtf.

Big prospect tourney and then enormous training camp for Rosen. He’s going into D+4 season. Time to piss or get off the pot.

I legit don’t understand why he won’t spend more. I truly think he is interested in the team and wants them to win. Every prospect summer camp there he is in the box with KA. He’s always in the videos behind the scenes at the draft and free agency. He seems to be a big fan and is involved yet it’s bizzare here he is near the league bottom in payroll again. Not saying to pay Ehroff money but there’s additions that I’m sure could be made to strengthen the team today with how tight some teams are to the cap.

This is going to come down to Bo Byrum returning to his draft/rookie potential. If he returns to even close to his rookie season then this was a huge trade for the Sabres. He just turned 23. Knowing that D take longer to develop, I think he still has top-pairing potential. If he turns into a top-pair guy this trade is a no-brainer for a 3C who everyone was ready to run out of town two years ago. If he doesn't? That's the risk Adams took and will ultimately be a big reason for his firing. Byrum could still end up being a real stud and big part of a future playoff/stanely cup run. If someone posted on this message board 2 years ago that we could get Bo for Mitts they would be laughed out of here. Obviously it also comes with enormous risk tho.

Watching the video confirms what I already thought and see every draft, prospect challenge and major events like trade deadline. Terry is always around and cares about the Sabres. Frustrating that he interferes so much with the operation of the team. But I’ve read some say he doesn’t care about the Sabres and that’s simply not true.

Agree with the above. We finallllllly have some depth. Basketball is all about stars as they play almost the entire game. Stars matter in hockey but when the best only play less than half the game you had better have depth. Injuries are unfortunately part of it too. I'm disappointed we didn't add a game-changer in the top 6 but on paper, this is the best depth the Sabres have had in years.

Taking Back Sunday was pretty awesome at River Works tonight. First time attending a concert at that venue and great way to repurpose the old grain silos. That place had a really cool vibe and great views of the city walking back. Can’t believe TBS didn’t understand what the crowd was saying when the bills make me want to shout song broke out.

True. But I'm very hopeful of Byram. I mean, how do you fall completely off a cliff a year or two after being so dominant on a stanley cup run? He's young and D seem to take longer to hit their peak. It's July after a decent trade so my hopium is high but I can see him being a legit top 4 D which this team needs. He's the perfect age with an awesome pedigree. I know Mitts has turned into a nice player. Lots of potential in Byram tho.

If we're actually getting 97th percentile defensive metrics I've seen he produces, along with 30 (maybe he can get to 40 with slightly elevated minutes sans McDri) that sounds pretty damn good for our 3C. Way better production than last season. Fact he's 24 and has cost control for a couple more years and I like the trade.

Final thoughts after my 2-viewings: Zeimer grabbed my attention. He looked to be one of the best players on the ice both days. I didn't go in looking to focus on anyone in particular (especially a third rounder) but he was fun to watch. Hopefully he can develop in the NCAA next couple of years. Someone to keep an eye on. Helenius was as advertised. I think it was Liger who said he better dominate the prospect challenge considering the lack of notable invites. I think he did just that. Looked like he has some similar attributes to Benson but at the C spot. Not the fastest skater (but fast enough), great edge work, battles hard, stole the puck in D zone several times, good passing, goes to the net. Kleber was decent and scored a goal today. Big D with average hands probably won't stand out in a setting like this. Looked alright and see where it goes. Leinonen was the best of the 4 goalies both days. He gave up one stinker the middle game (plus a second goal got through him) but I believe pitched a shutout the other two mini-games including a few nice saves. Neuchev is so fast and creative but seems to leave me wanting a bit more. Other notable was Sardarian. Never heard of him before today but he scored a bunch of goals and looks pretty fast. Will have to do some more reading on where he is projected to play next season. Overall a very fun time. Decent crowd considering the lack of notable invites and being the 4th of July at 9am. Lots of kids out having fun and discounted Sabres merch didn't hurt.

Helenius looking pretty good. Two goals plus shootout winner in the two games. Also some d zone breakups. Zeimer is the guy who keeps impressing me tho. Very fast and an excellent shot

I see they’re both on the same team. Looking forward for to watching them together
