I think that has a ton to do with it. The building in Buffalo was absolutely rocking (even regular season games) from 2005-2007. I think the team being crap since 2007 (except a small stretch in 2010) has a lot to do with it. I don't think it's a bandwagon thing either. If the team is crap it's tough spending the money to come out and cheer loud when there's not much to cheer about. Give it another year or two when Eichel enters his prime and this team really turns the corner. Then I think we will see the building become more lively again.

Anyone have an update on Eichel while we're at it? Best case scenario was suppose to be Thanksgiving. If that were to happen I would think we should hear reports of him skating on his own in another week or so.

Actually, these our the games our fans usually get up for IMO. Completely agree with you the building is generally a morgue but with so many leaf fans in the building I find the Buffalo faithful usually bring it. I know I'll be bringin it!! Let's Go Buffalo!!!!!

To your first point, I liked the idea of seeing Taylor Hall and living 2.5 hours away I go more based on availability rather than opponents. To your second point I could see some games trending that way. But the leafs? With Matthews and Marner and Nylander and renewed optimism? That was/is shocking to me.

Agreed. I also don't get it. Tried for 2 months to sell this game at cost and couldn't do it. Was not going to sell for $20 per tickets so my dad and I will take the trip down tomorrow. With Matthews and the rivalry I thought this would sell easily. Maybe being a weeknight in November didn't help? I donno.

My theory is by doing this it keeps the standings closer. Thus keeps teams in the 'playoff hunt' longer. Resulting increase in ticket sales....

Ok so the game is at 8? The desktop schedule says a 1pm start. I didn't think you Yanks had a holiday today but I forgot to record the game and was going to go home on my lunch. Guess I don't have to now.

Looking forward to the weekend and next week. I've got Monday afternoon off for Halloween and half of Thursday and all Friday off. My dad and I are heading down to Buffalo to watch the Leafs Sabres game next Thursday. Yes the team sucks, but it's been many years since my dad and I took a road trip together just the two of us. Really looking forward to it.

Depressing times being a Sabres fan now of days. Of the last 4 years we've full on tanked two of them and not been very good the other two. A key injury to Jack and it's looking like a long year again. 2005-2007 seems like such a distant memory.
