This is well played. Let's just keep winning. So sick of them losing huge games only to win a couple and get the hope back. Win the friggen game.
-
Well played. This was my first thought reading that as well.
-
Very doubtful. I've had 4 separated shoulders over my playing career and they usually took about 3-4 weeks to heal.
-
I thought there was no possible way he was being serious taking Eichel off the PP that one game. Then it happened.

Just came to say I heard Julien could be fired and wanted to get others opinions. Looks like I'm late to that party. As for me? Ummmm yes please!! If Julien were to go mid season I wish they would immediately fire Bylsma and replace him with Julien.

After last nights loss to the Leafs and hearing the depressing talk on WGR this morning about how nobody wants to come coach the Bills I think this is the most depressed I've ever been cheering for these teams. Not that it's necessary but let's rehash. Sabres We've sucked for 10 straight years now. Finally the plan is to burn it down, start from scratch. We know how those seasons go. Then to miss out on the McDavid lottery...the Eichel injury to start this year...Matt Moulson is still on the books for another 2 seasons...our D is horrendous outside of 2 players...Lehner trade is blowing up in our face...Babcock spurn...now we have DDB who the GM seems to support....Pat Lafontaine fiasco... The leafs rebuild is light years ahead of ours. Did they get lucky in their lottery year? Yes. But man, after the Eichel pick and ROR trade I thought we'd left that team in the dust. Nope. Bills Haven't made the playoffs since 1999 (are you friggen kidding me)...QB purgatory...Ground and Pound...Currently several coordinator candidates turned down the Bills offer for interview...Tyrod extention...Trade up for Sammy Watkins and then go with ground and pound approach...QB purgatory...Brady looks like he still has a few years left...QB purgatory... The Bills don't look any closer to the playoffs then they did 10 years ago.

I despise them more. the leafs!

I set up to record the game and I'll watch it tonight. It's nothing but insufferable leaf talk here so should have no problems avoiding hearing the score.

I don't :(

Agreed. But every win is atleast getting me less and less depressed about the leaf rebuild. It's starting to feel like soon both teams will be good soon and bring it! -
Sabres are winning in spite of DDB IMO.

Agreed. I actually thought he had a good game without the puck last night. He came back and broke up a number of plays in the defensive end. Someone else mentioned it upthread that he's really improved in the defensive zone and I fully agree. He's using that reach to his advantage and pick pocketing guys more than usual. -
Exactly. Nobody over the age of 12 should go by Dougie.

Derek Grant on Waivers; What does this do to the lineup?

The rest of this season I'm not sure either. In a couple of years I think this is an unbelievable centre group both offensively and especially defensively. We all know about ROR. Girgs also has good defensive instincts, it was his lack of scoring that always concerned me. Reinhart was a great 2 way centre in junior hockey. In the gold medal game in his WJC draft+1 year Canada made sure to have him out at the end of the game leading by a goal. Jack is the only defensive liability here but obviously he's the heart of the offense. The wingers are coming. This team is about 2 years of maturing and 2 good defensemen away from being a really good team. -

This. Lehner has the flu. He was originally going to be the starter. -

Philly had a huge run in early December but are 2-5-3 in their last 10. Good time to be playing them. We need this win. -
Can't speak for all Canadian hockey fans obviously but I really don't think this is the case. I'm so glad the world has caught up. I love the game of hockey and for years and years we were to hockey as the Americans are to basketball. I remember growing up watching this tournament and 10-1 wins were not the exception but the norm. Not just the U.S. But I'm glad countries like Sweden, Finland and Russia (ok they were always pretty good) have developed the coaching and systems to bring the level up to what it is today. Even with canada losing last night I was throughly enjoyed. End to end action and a hell of a game. I'd rather that and lose then going into the finals and knowing it's a guaranteed 3 plus goal win like 20 years ago. Also, U.S. Won fair and square but what a disappointing finish to end it in the shootout. Preliminary round robin games fine but all elimination games should be changed to unlimited sudden death ot like nhl playoffs. I know I could have used another period or two of ot last night.

So pumped for the gold!! Better not be crying about penalties all game tomorrow Randall!

I was advocating hard for Keller last year. I think he has a similar career to Patty Kane.

Please be a credible rumor...please be a credible rumor....please.... This franchise has become so boring

Canadians are going to have their hands full for sure. I've watched most of Sweden's games and they are a great hockey team. Nylander and Eriksson Ek lead the way but they are a really deep team. Asplund has played his role perfectly and guys like Grundstrom and Dalen have been very good as well. I think True is right about Nylander. He has a real good look at making the Sabres out of camp next fall. He doesn't win a ton of board battles but he's just so smart with the puck and has such a great shot. Nylander on a line with Eichel would be magic. Pure magic. Let's hope he can take this momentum back to Rochester and have a nice second half run.
-
I recorded and watched the last two Swedish games. Came away very impressed with nylander. It was not just the high end skating, soft hand and great shot that had me impressed. It was his hockey iq that had me giddy. He had a few passes that reminded me of Reinhart/Eichel. I think this guy could be the perfect running mate for jack if they can add a defensively responsible bull on the other side like okposo. As for asplund he didn't overly impress. Great at the face off circle and very good defensively but very questionable if he has the offence to play in any future top 6. Reminds me of Larson. Good responsible centre which is probably the best you should hope for for a second round player anyways.

I'll tell you what I tell my kids, screaming and holding your breath until your face turns blue won't make me change my mind :P Besides, I won't fall for the millennial talk. I'm not a millennial but I'm closer to that grouping then some of the old folks we've got around here :D
