  1. I live too far away, or else I'd love to go. My friend and I are considering Columbus in late January since we live about an hour from there. But that is a Tuesday night game and i dont think many Sabres fans who aren't around Columbus wiil be there
  2. I remember reading that RoR quietly asked for a trade at the deadline. I also read that the team was a bit divided, some players followed RoR and others were with Jack. Then there was the end of season comments etc. I don't feel that Lehner wasn;'t being blammed, in fact, i remember a lot of female dogging about Lehner and his inability to stop a shootout goal and give up bad softies etc. In my limited time on this forum, I have seen comments like "this is a thread about RoR, go talk about Lehner in the Lehner thread" etc.
  3. no, not the trade itslef as they did get the statiscally best player in the deal. they're just butt-hurt that the team is terrbile and even though RoR is lighting it up, it's doing much good.
  4. "How do you write women's roles so well?...I think of a man, and take away reason and accountability."
  5. seriously? you got banned from that? Your best point was how they are ignoring the fact that he's a bit of a lockeroom cancer and saying all the same thing we Sabres fans said when we first traded for him. How quickly things change, and it's only a matter of time until they are saying the same thing. I think i read one poster say that they kept the wrong goalie, but that was about it.
  6. Maybe Kane was in awe of seeing a full arena of cheering Sabres fans and that distracted him...or he was being lazy
  7. i actually was reading in their RoR trade topic and saw your very reasonable points and their very un-reasonable answers. While I agree with them in that RoR was the best player in the trade, I do not believe we lost the trade at all, both teams got what they wanted.
  8. I would like to add onto that, Dahlin's behind the back pass around EK that made Jones come out to try and play it was pretty amazing too.
  9. This is why we should package him up with Risto, Guhle, and 1st for Pat Kane as I have been seeing fans suggest on Twitter. Disclaimer-i do not condone this type of trade idea.
  10. seeing your photos and reading your story makes me wish i had some more culture in my life and i wish i had more time to travel. i have had a few opportunities to be overseas but it has been for work, and there wasn't much time for much else. My wife and i have had a trip to London but that's really it. i would love to visit more places and experience local cultures.
  11. Thanks for the update. What we have to love about this team is that even when they're not all on their "A" game, they still find a way to win. I defintely saw the several lazy moments and giveaways by Eichel, but, i think his play thorugh most of the game was fine. there were some points where my wife and i wanted him to shoot, but he's looking for that perfect tic tac toe pass play to setup someone elses goal. I want him to be a tad more selfish. Risto spanking Burns like a puppy was amazing on that goal, he needs work on that celebration though. Skinner's post game comments were pretty funny about it. Erod needs a game or two in the box, he took what, 2 bad penalties that were just plain dumb? one other observation, after Skinner scored he blew by the whole team and skated right to Eichel to celebrate. Hope their man crush on each other makes Skinner want to stay here
  12. I think it was Dreger, "Last year we waited for the wheels to fall off the Vegas wagon and it never did, why can't that be Buffalo this year?" Cue the Leafs fans to start murmuring about how we only seem to win 1 goal games in OT and that isn't sustainable
  13. thank you for posting, i am going to try this on the weekend. i have a gas stove so that'l work nicely. cant wait to try it. is there a particular brand that you like to use as far as coffee goes?
  14. cilantro in very small small amounts is fine with me, as long as its drowned out with avocado and sour cream
  15. I am a little bit of a coffee snob, my wife and I bought a Nespresso Espresso machine last year as an 'us' gift. It has made it difficult to go back to regular coffee. I have had some amazing coffee in Qatar at a Turkish restaurant, great coffee in Germany and especially Holland, but back here in the states i have found that coffee just isn't as good and generally just stick with espresso these days. sorry fo the long winded NS, but, I am curious, what is the Bosnian traditional way of brewing coffee? I am always looking to try something new.
  16. We all know Kane is one helluva player, but he is 30. how many 70+ point seasons does he have left? the first time he dips below 70 points, that $10.6M salary will be rough. I'd be torn if this were a real thing.
  17. wow, that's pretty amazing. maybe take it to an appraiser and they might be able to tell you the year and authenticate it. again, what an incredible piece of sports history that is.
  18. Nylander has until Friday to sign or else he will have to sit out the year. Babcock believes that he will be back before the deadline.
  19. Seeing Dahlin block a shot, then beat the forward to the puck behind the net, carry it through to center ice, throw a nice pass, then follow up the play and lift the defenseman's stick for an easy goal was brilliant. This kid is only 18! did we luck out winning this draft lottery
  20. I do agree mostly, however, i think that you're missing the fact that depth has been coming form different players/lines in different games, while not consistantly the 2nd line, secondary scoring has been decent from everywhere. i read the following this morning and it sums things up nicely IMO "Although Skinner and Eichel have been the driving forces up front for Buffalo, with the former scoring nine goals during this nine-game win streak and the latter adding a goal and 10 assists, there have been contributions from up and down the lineup. In Montreal it was secondary scoring from Vladimir Sobotka and his line. Against Vancouver it was Reinhart setting up Skinner then potting the game-tying goal all with less than three minutes remaining in the third period. In Minnesota it was defensemen Jake McCabe and Rasmus Dahlin pulling the Sabres out of a two-goal deficit and against Philadelphia it was a blitzkrieg of secondary scoring from Tage Thompson, Evan Rodrigues and Johan Larsson that helped stake Buffalo to a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes."
  21. There were several drops on what should've been easy catches and i counted 5 penalties that took completions away. Allen is still young and raw, but i believe he will get better and better
  22. Yeah once the Sheary-Mittelstadt-Okposo line starts scoring, we will be in for an even bigger treat.
  23. We are starting to see some secondary scoring, Thompson starting to gain confidence and has scored some goals. I'd like to see the Sheary-Mittelstadt-Ok line start getting back on the score sheet. I think it's only a matter of time before Mittelstadt starts feeling it more and that line gets going. It's crazy that Eichel-Skinner can't be stopped, every team knows they're our biggest threat and yet they keep getting goals. It will be amazing when Mittelstadt's line gets going too.
  24. Hat signed by Eichel, Reinhart, Kane, Moulson, Risto Signed Hasek Jersey Would lke to add more, but, I don't live in Buffalo and can't get to many games.
  25. I agree, i figured that there would be some improvement, but i didn't expect this. My friend and i were discussing if they are actually this good or they have been lucky. We came up with a little bit of both. Eichel and Skinner of course are dominating and we are starting to see some more secondary scoring. However, you dont win 9 in a row without some 'puck luck' either. I am more than happy with it of course and just dont see too many stinkers or extended losing streaks, Eichel is feeling it and i think the rest of the team is feeding of him. You're right, Skinner waived to come here and i believe he told Carolina that Buffalo was the only team he'd waive. He's all smiles on the ice too, so you'd think he'd re-sign here in a heart beat, but, he's having a career year for goals and as long as he's pumping the net, then he might have a desire to test UFA and see the ridiculous offers he will receive. Pommer on a 1 year deal at like half his current salary would be nice, but, he's 3rd on the team in points, will he take such a discount? I think McCabe has earned a nice contract with his play this year, but, he's not going to be more than a 2nd pair D-man in Buffalo and hopefully gets paid as such. Ullmark is what 5-0-1 so far? He pretty much stole that Detroit game, he had some incredible saves, I don't see how we can let him go, we put so much time and effort in developing him properly that i can't imagine trading him for some futures. I think we can get him signed reasonably. Jury is still out on Tage, but, he's building confidence now, that PP goal was crazy, looked like an Ovechkin slapper from that faceoff circle, I don't think Howard saw the puck, only heard it whizz by. His shootout goal was crazy because he looked lazy coming in and then deked Howard out of his shorts. Mittelstadt, it was necessary to have him up here after the RoR trade, we had to have anpother skilled center. He started off slow, wasn't great offensively but wasn't a liability defensively either, i think he's doing fine, but yes, you are correct, he needs to add 15lbs before next season.
