  1. Well thanks for posting that chart.. now I'll look pretty dumb when I select Joe Morrow with my next pick :P
  2. Great pick.. almost took him over Skinner, but the even strength scoring made me lean towards Jeff. It's not often that a Michigan man is popular here, but they sure love Werenski in Columbus. Dude's a warrior too, coming back to finish that playoff game after taking the shot to the face. I was at that game and couldn't believe when he returned.
  3. Yep, only Crosby, Kucherov, Matthews, Marchand, and Tarasenko had more goals. And 30 of his 37 goals were even strength. Only Matthews had more even strength goals (31)
  4. Maybe I'll start it once this is done.. Another fun thing to pass the time until the season starts again!
  5. Haha sorry to poke the bear :P although your response brings up something I often like to think about. Who is the best #19 in the league today? Who is the best at any given number? Some are easy, some are really tough. 19 is actually pretty easy: Backstrom. Unless, of course, someone likes Toews more. Or Cal O'Reilly...
  6. Sent Flagg my picks so I wouldn't hold things up while sleeping... then couldn't fall asleep :P Tyler Seguin
  7. Clayton Kershaw vs. Playoff Clayton Kershaw
  8. Not how I saw it going either! This is tough. I wanna be the one to do it, but I don't wanna be the one to do it. I'm on the fence between a defenseman and a center. I think this guy finishes fifth in the NHL in scoring. I am more confident in his ability to stay healthy over others like Stamkos, Malkin. His offensivive impact this year will be elite. And he's ours. Jack Eichel
  9. No worries! McDavid seems like a slam dunk at 1 to me. If you want to argue Crosby, I'd hear it. But 7 is an interesting place to be. Things get murkier down there. It'll be fun. Back to back picks at each turn would have been cool though!
  10. Just got out of a meeting! If the list is redone, I'll happily slide in wherever. If you'd like me to pick, I will
  11. Is there going to be one catch all thread for this (i.e. picks and discussion go in the same thread)? Or should we break it up.. one thread for all the discussion and inevitable disagreement over some picks. Then one thread that people can subscribe to for the picks. That would give people email updates and might move things faster. Or do some of you check this place more than email? :P I'm fine either way. Just tossing out the idea.
  12. Speaking of water in basements... we pulled out of the house we had gone into contract on. Unfortunately, A LOT turned up during the inspection. Monday was exceptionally rainy, which was a great test for the basement. There were big time leaks at the entry slabs. With a little investigation, we discovered major water damage that had been covered up. One wall in the basement was bulging about an inch. That's nothing to the naked eye, but it's right about when you need to reinforce with I-beams. Also major issues with electric throughout the house and garage- nothing grounded, many things disconnected. In the garage, there was a leak in the roof that actually filled a light switch with water. Imagine my surprise when a live light switch rained on me. Some windows were replaced with plastic to look like glass. Oh, and it failed the radon test too. A mediation system is required. Some tried to cover up a lot in this house. The outside looked great. The inside looked even better. But he literally polished a turd. I fell for it in the viewing, but our inspector was fantastic. Some lessons don't come cheap. This one cost me over $500. But I guess that's nothing compared to the $20,000+ I think this home needs in hidden repairs. Back to searching!
  13. Yeah, my best advice to WildCard is to find a relative with a couch you really like, then convince them it is outdated and you'll take it off their hands :P
  14. I just shuddered at the thought of you recording a negative +/- one game... :P I kid, of course. Thanks for sharing this experience and others. You and others often make me wish I had played.
  15. Last year I did the Ride for Roswell. It was actually on the day I moved out of my apartment, so the last day I ever called Buffalo home. Anyways, I was reluctant to share my page on Facebook and ask for donations. But just like you, I was amazed at the people who gave. Broke college friends that are literally living off frozen chicken nuggets and ramen. My Aunt who I didn't even think had a Facebook. My little sister who gave her babysitting money. It was pretty neat. Glad you're getting support!
  16. My man crush on Robinson Cano's swing shall never die
  17. My closest friend at work does this because she prefers the water closer to room temp than cold. Out at restaurants she'll ask or water with no ice. One day before I knew any of this, I offered to fill her water bottle because I was heading to the break room to fill mine. When she answered with very specific directions instead of a simple "yes," I had a similar response to the one you posted above.
