  1. What’s the point of this? The correct answer is “He will have a full career” because regardless of how long it lasts it will be his full career.
  2. That sounds crazy, antiquated, and very NHL.
  3. Sounds like the definition of a solid defenseman to me.
  4. Wouldn’t Eichel also need to change his mind about what type of surgery he wants? I doubt a few wins would change his opinion on that.
  5. Previously he didn’t score a lot at 5v5, despite his shot. 11 ES goals in 88 games pre Granato 7 ES goals in 35 games under Granato. His shot actually did seem less deadly at ES because I rarely saw him find the space to use it well when not on the PP. I think he has done a better job of that this season.
  6. That Eichel changed his mind? About what?
  7. Apologies. I hope I cleared it up some.
  8. Well, it’s one year of Reinhart for Levi and a 1st. If Levi ends up being really good, then it was probably good value for Reinhart. But this is also the Getting to know Devon Levi thread, not the Reinhart Traded thread. I guess I’m just sorry that I mentioned Reinhart because after I did that’s all you wanted to talk about, and I don’t really want to. I probably shouldn’t have used the word triggered because it’s triggering. Overall, my post was intended to be slightly more playful than you how you seem to have interpreted it. Levi does have a small sample size the past couple seasons but lots of other players do too. He has always performed very well. He was a 7th rounder mostly because (1) he isn’t tall and (2) because he played in a lesser junior league in order to retain his NCAA eligibility. He has always performed extremely well going back several years.
  9. This isn’t really even a breakout. Levi was great before being drafted too. He has basically been the best goalie in every league and major tournament he has played in for the past 3 years. I don’t know if he really looks 2x more promising than UPL did at the same age (how could one even quantify that), but he definitely does have better results. This isn’t a discussion of who is better between Reinhart and Levi. I’m sorry that I said the word Reinhart and triggered you. 🙄 Literally have never seen you say the bolded before. You are right though. 😉
  10. It’s from this offseason. Brisson was 11th.
  11. Maybe the Reinhart trade didn’t suck. Maybe people “in the know” just recognized that Levi was becoming a very high end goalie prospect, as opposed to “a 7th round goalie”.
  12. Literally less than 12 hours after.
  13. Are we being trolled? 😈
  14. What percentage of people here could not care any less whether or not the Leafs copied a Team Canada sweater for their 3rds?
  15. Are you going to send nots to Pat so he can tell this stuff to Brendon when it comes up at thanksgiving?
  16. Man, I would love for this to be over soon.
  17. IMO, guys like Zegras and Byfield would be top center prospects, elite prospects, A prospects. Whatever term you want to use. Guys like Krebs and Turcotte would be a step below.
  18. Even if they get Theodore , a 1st and a lesser prospect?
  19. How do you brain someone?
  20. That would be unimaginably good. Probably unrealistically good.
  21. No offense, but this is a lot of wasted words. I didn’t say that Dahlin is a similar hockey player to Lidstrom or that he is the next Lidstrom. The comment I was responding to mostly discussed personality traits. Lidstrom just came to mind as another player with a calm demeanor.
  22. That’s funny stuff. It’s like Dadonov just kept skating without thinking about it and just kind of found himself in the net when the shot got taken. Or maybe after passing he remembered that he has a contract bonus that kicks in if he gets 25 goals, lol.
  23. I’m really just restating the obvious, but this is all around a pathetic display. The original handling of the situation was an obvious case of valuing hockey more than a person’s well being. It was inconvenient, so they didn’t deal with it. Pathetic. The NHL’s punishment of $2M is super weak. Teams have been penalized more for breaking rules about draft prospect workouts. Pathetic. The Blackhawks response now is insufficient. In their statements they are not taking responsibility as an organization. They keep putting the responsibility on “management at that time”. Instead of firing people for cause, they are allowing them to “step aside” with some dignity, and a fine settlement package no doubt. Pathetic. USA hockey keeps putting people in charge who are in the midst of sexual misconduct investigations. Stop being dumb. Pathetic. Pathetic display all around.
  24. Living rent free in someone’s head. In this specific example, Reinhart lives rent free in the head of Poster X. It means that Poster X is constantly thinking about, obsessing over or being annoyed about Reinhart, generally in a negative way. When Reinhart does well, Poster X must think up absurd justifications for why it doesn’t really fully count (he has good line mates, it’s a contract year). When Reinhart does poorly Poster X can’t miss the opportunity to point it out. Reinhart lives inside the head of Poster X, and does not even need to pay rent. I hope this helps you to understand the expression.
  25. 1. I want to say it may have been an Elliot Friedman podcast, but I can’t be certain. 2. 11th overall pick or not, the fact that he never did play for the Blackhawks would say that he very much was a bubble player who should have been trying to make a good impression. Either way, doesn’t change what happened, as you said. I was just theorizing why he could have been targeted.
