  1. Ok. Unrelated to my post. I was just laying out how conditions might be attached to any picks.
  2. I understand what you are saying. If you had to put the responsibility in just one person’s jurisdiction, then yes, you would say it is the coach’s decision. However, I don’t think it’s usually as black and white as that. I think the GM and coach generally discuss these things and arrive at something of a consensus. Just like a GM manages the player pool, but I would hope he is regularly talking with the coach about what types of players he needs in the lineup and reaching something of a consensus on that as well.
  3. I think it’s a decision that the GM gets some input on.
  4. Yup, every 15 years their stars get injured, they accidentally tank one season, get #1 pick, draft a superstar and then win multiple cups.
  5. Trying to imagine having the mental energy to bitch about someone else bitching about what a hockey player or GM wears when signing a contract. It was mostly a joke, although I do think the backwards cap was too casual for an official press release photo op.

  7. Would be unprecedented, I agree, but I don’t think it’s necessarily that complicated, nor would a condition need to extend all the way to the end of the contract. Something like: Eichel for prospect X, cap dump Y, a 2022 2nd, a conditional 2023 1st, and a conditional 2024 2nd conditional 2023 1st - if he plays 50+ games in 2022-23 the Sabres get a 2023 1st, if he doesn’t they get a 2023 3rd. conditional 2024 2nd - if he plays 50+ games in 2023-24 the Sabres get a 2024 2nd, if he doesn’t they get nothing. Stuff like that.
  8. Thanks for dressing up for the photo op Rasmus. Geez
  9. There are several other threads fully dedicated to discussing the John Eichel situation. Please, if you must post this stuff, at least post this stuff in there. I went with other, because I think it will be no one, but that wasn’t an option.
  10. Tanking for Wright, obviously.
  11. Good thing Dell isn’t 40.
  12. Even if he performs as a 3C, I think it is outperforming that contract.
  13. Mittelstadt Routsalainen- big time Cozens Asplund probably Pysyk
  14. Ive gotta be honest. I didn’t really understand any of that.
  15. I don’t agree. This situation with Eichel is so unique, I don’t think other guys will relate to it. I don’t think this has really been that much of a PR beat up, or public destruction of Eichel.
  16. I think this is why Adams answered as he did. No circus.
  17. I think that type of reply would have drawn less negative attention. Feels like it would have been a little better for the organization, more tactful, but maybe it doesn’t really even matter. As a fan? Like which answer brings me more joy? Is parading the player out and publicly tearing the C from his sweater on the table?
  18. “Jack Eichel failed his physical, so he won’t be on the active roster and he isn’t going to apart of the locker room for now. The team is going to move forward with three Alternate Captains, who we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks.” Something like that. Yes, it doesn’t directly answer the question, but if he isn’t around the team, it doesn’t really matter.
  19. No offense, but I think this take is delusional.
  20. Could just say, Eichel failed his physical, so he won’t be on the active roster. The team is going to move forward with three Alternate Captains for now. If he is going to be traded before he ever suits up for Buffalo again, then no need for the public announcement.
  21. Are you for real right now.....? Are there people out there who still think the door is open for an Eichel/Sabres relationship mending? At this point, the situation looks so toxic that I don’t see how anyone even thinks it’s a good idea for him to come back.
  22. I disagree. Just because I think everyone around the league already knew that Eichel and the Sabres were not going to have an amicable resolution.
  23. Exercise and eat right.
  24. Consistently, for the past 6 months straight.
