  1. True, but still, he went out of his way to have a conversation about “maybe you should just trade me”. That’s not something you would do if you didn’t want want to be traded. I would think that Terry would genuinely be hurt by this.
  2. Jagr is just a marvel. You know he is still playing pro in the Czech league? 49 years old!
  3. Long term, I’m thinking a Murray-Thompson-Asplund 3rd line sounds good.
  4. People will have differing opinions. I don’t like the guy, I think he is a jerk, so I don’t want him to play for my favorite team. That’s good enough for me. Does it need to be more complicated? What are professional sports? A serious business with real world consequences? Or an escape that everyone can enjoy in the way they wish? We are a bunch of grown ups watching a bunch of millionaires play a game. Its not such a serious thing. It’s absurd. It’s all just for fun. Apart from my personal feelings about Kane the human, there are many other reasons that many people have laid out for why Kane probably isn’t a great fit with the Sabres at this time.
  5. What do you mean by “this isn’t grade school.”? I honestly don’t understand what you mean. Do you mean that I must be a naive little kid to care whether or not a player is a jerk? Thats kind of how I took it, but I’m honestly not sure. I wasn’t trying to oversimplify and I don’t it was an oversimplification. In fact I don’t think it’s a very complicated issue. It kind of is a popularity contest. Fans will support teams that they like. That can mean different things. If people were in here saying that Kane should be banned by the NHL, then that could be considered cancel culture. But for me to say that I personally do not like Patrick Kane and as a result I am not in favor the Buffalo Sabres acquiring him, it’s not cancel culture. People are going to like who they like. Please attempt to engage in a discussion with me. Another condescending reply would be non productive.
  6. Not liking someone because of bad things they have done in the past is not cancel culture, it’s just “I don’t like a-holes.”
  7. I’ll play. I don’t think it’s a particular skill set. I think it’s guys who are hard workers, coachable, and play with intensity.
  8. You have yet to explain what the heck you were talking about. Why do you say that the savvy answer is no? Also, several people have brought up Kane’s very questionable character.
  9. It’s a Nebraska thing.
  10. Two conference finals and one cup final. I think the phrase you were searching for is “ knows how to win”. Everyone knows what winning means, even if they have no clue how to do it. Regardless, I agree with you.
  11. John Hayden, Jack Quinn, Jacob Bryson, Craig Anderson, Aaron Dell Issac Howard, Seamus Casey, Marco Kasper, Tyler Brennan, Owen Beck, Ty Nelson
  12. Rutger McGroarty is a lottery guy who definite plays a power forward type of game. (Highlight package from last season, USHL level)
  13. Can we get a poll in here? Let the people choose their path.
  14. 1) Chicago is not rebuilding so they aren’t trading Kane 2) Buffalo is rebuilding so why would they want Kane 3) Kane has a reputation as a somewhat questionable character guy, KA has been all about bringing in high character guys 4) Kane has a NMC and, if he wants to be traded, I doubt it’s to go to a perennial bottom feeder 5) Kane is almost 33 and under contract for just one year after this one. I doubt Buffalo would want to spend assets to bring in such a short term player. Its a NO. This is something that gets continually brought up, and it just isn’t a fit. Maybe if the Sabres get quite good in a couple years it could become a possibility, but as long as they are bad, it just makes no sense.
  15. Rutger McGroaty is one. 6-1 200lb physical C from Nebraska EDIT: Also C Matt Savoie 5-9 180lb in WHL, Joakim Kemell 5-11 180 RW playing in Luigi, and maybe Russian RW/C Danila Yurov
  16. Fun exercise, but dangerous projecting prospect success so far out, as you know. Good thing is that majority of these prospects are showing continued positive development and excelling right now. Also, there are a fair number not included in your lineup (R2, Murray, Weissbach, Kisakov, Nadeau, Bloom, Costantini, Bryson, Novikov) who are doing well and could make a leap. In addition to that, the 3 upcoming 1st round picks, but also its 8 total picks in 1st+2nd round over the next 2 drafts.
  17. Yeah, I think that small sample size grain of salt skepticism is appropriate, but certainly promising for a 3rd round pick.
  18. True......except Bloom also missed a full year....... Seriously though, this is considered a slow start for Wright, and I’ve seen it said that he is still excelling in areas of the game, the points just aren’t coming as often as you would expect. If his production stays a little down for the season, I’m curious if scouts would drop him at all.
  19. That was very authentic. This guy is really happy to be a Sabre.
  20. @The Ghost of Doohickie I’ve been a LFC fan since I first started watching soccer in 2005 when I watched them win the Champions League in dramatic fashion led by Steven Gerrard. Can’t turn away now. I have a soft spot for newcomers Brentford, and also for Aston Villa. Used to kind of like Newcastle as well, but I think their recent ownership change put an end to that.
  21. Liverpool FC fan here. Hopefully the majority of the 55k crowd leaves disappointed tomorrow. Yes, Salah is great. He’ll be playing at right forward for Liverpool. If you want to watch for something that is kind of easy to see from afar and also vital to Liverpool’s success, watch for how they apply pressure when West Ham has possession. They are regarded as one of the very best teams in the world at pressing and causing turnovers. Their positioning, timing, and intensity when pressuring the ball should stand out to you. And have fun!
  22. Interview with Krebs after morning skate with the Amerks today.
  23. Nice one. I like this guy a lot. I feel that Krebs and Cozens have a similar approach and mentality about how to play the game. Very mentally mature kids with a great attitude.
  24. I don’t like to bash guys, especially when I recognize that I don’t know these people, but I have to agree with you here. Peters said some pretty damning things about Eichel as a teammate off the ice, and neither Rivet nor Gionta spoke in opposition. In fact they nodded along and Rivet even questioned whether Eichel had “ever REALLY been a Captain”.
