Expected that when I learned it was being made. There are certain movies that do not need a remake. Hopes are high. Probably going to see the latest ID4 either today or tomorrow. Have said it before, others as well, it would flat out suck if Toronto lands Stamkos and Vesey. Not as much for Stamkos. But the addition of Vesey would make my head explode. Learned of this today. And Stamkos' hometown Maple Leafs, due to a 53.53 percent combined federal/provincial tax rate, would have to offer him $12.37 million annually over seven years to net the same as he'd make over eight years at $8.5 million in Tampa Endorsements Stamkos would have in the Toronto area may counter that, but it is rather interesting. If he chooses to play for the Rangers or Islanders 10 mill would be equivalent to 8.5 mill in Tampa.

Yep, but people, myself included, keep on buying for up to date rosters and that "one new addition" to what you can do in the game. This year the franchise mode is deeper. Can now set ticket prices, possible change of location, and hell, maybe even set the beer prices. Heard the World Cup of Hockey has also been added. But the beer prices is the deciding factor for me this year. They'll be dirt cheap! :w00t:

That's the norm. According to a study by CNN, only 20% of gamers actually finish their games. Partly due to the fact games are cranked out at a much raster rate today. Must admit I'm amongst the 80% that do not finish games. Not due to lack of enjoyment or interests, but because of the anticipation of the next "must buy." Let me add there are always titles I do finish. Just don't complete every game I buy.

I agree w/ that, but w/ Bishop now on the trading block he's a player Tampa doesn't have to account for in their budget. From what I can recall they spoke of having to resign Bishop when the time comes. That was in talk much of last season? But that is no longer the case. I think Tampa will offer 10 or 10.5 mill now. The Lightning will remain a serious contender for Stamkos.

Murray may say f' that and throw a 7yr/12 mill offer on the table right away. Quite sure he'd have it structured much like O'Reilly's. Very enticing for a player. Detroit may not want to do that.

That has to be something everyone on this board agrees w/. What would really tick me off is Toronto landing Stamkos and Vesey. Just thinking of it makes me want to :sick: Seriously, Toronto wouldn't be referred to as the "Laughs" for their bad play and/or poor decision making by management. It'd be because of Toronto laughing at Buffalo. We wanted Babcock. They got him. We want Stamkos. They get him. We want Vesey. They get him. All of a sudden they are the better team in 2 years for a lengthy amount of time because people chose Toronto over Buffalo.

That is most likely correct. Can cause other teams (Buffalo) to offer a bigger deal. Maybe Murray offers 11 mill for 7 years? Does one of two things. Brings Stamkos into Buffalo or makes Detroit make an equal or possibly bigger offer. Sort of a win win for Murray. Must say I don't want the Sabres paying Stamkos 11 mill.

TM is also an intelligent guy. No matter how bad he wants somebody, if the asking price is too high he'll pass.

I guess something to be happy about. Draft is "done", so a GM w/ a player wanted by others will have less leverage.
