Eichel has put in his time. McDavid played juniors. Eichel played D1 hockey. Scouts across the NHL share the opinion of both being immediate top 2 line players on any NHL team. Why should either play any hockey in juniors this season? It'd be a waste of time and no improvement will be made. I can see why Eichel would return to college if the Sabres didn't provide him some type of guarantee. And why isn't McDavid getting pestered by the media?

I'm up for that. Kings are rather tight in cap space and supposedly have 2 young, quality goaltenders to go for Jones's spot as a backup to Quick. Rumors, as you already mentioned, are out that LA would like to trade him to a team in the East. W/ Jones's limited experience it seems to be unlikely a team would give up more than a 2nd or a young prospect. Murray should offer a 2nd round pick. If that doesn't float and no other team provides what LA may want, Murray should offer 3 million. LA won't match that. Have Toffoli, Sekera and whoever else to re-sign. Don't see that happening. Buffalo's D' is beginning to hurt in depth. Sure, free agents, not sure how many are legit, will be available, but the Sabres have a team coming together. Zadorov seems to be a major part of that. I'm not saying I'm completely against Zadorov being traded. But Buffalo had better get something to be excited about. Let me add Zadorov alone will not get that "something" we'd all want. It will take him, this, that and possibly the other.

How much would that be? What draft pick(s) would the Sabres have to give LA?

Eichel has to be excited Buffalo is the team taking him. Read the article this morning. Buffalo played it very well by guaranteeing him he'll be in the NHL for the entire season. Now just have to wait on his decision to play for the Sabres or return to college. When Scouts, one being from the Boston area, say he can already play on any top 2 line in the NHL, that has to be reason enough to leave college.

Buffalo is rather short in depth for defenseman. Plus, I have hopes for Pysyk. Felt he was kept off the Sabres roster to help the tank. Whoops, forgot that's a word that no longer needs to be mentioned.

Agreed. Ekblad had a great season as a rookie defenseman. Had 39 points and was a +12. Reinhart's level of play appears to have improved a lot. The guy played very well at the world junior championship. Had 11 points in 7 games and finished w/ a +13. Buffalo got what they needed. It'd be a waste of time and a gamble to trade Reinhart for Arizona's number 3 pick, which amounts to Strome. This is not going to happen.

I'm up for the 3 on 3 overtime, but why not go w/ a 3-2-1 scoring system? 3 for regulation win, 2 for overtime win and 1for overtime loss? Gives reason to play hard in the finals minutes of a 3rd period.

Statsny had 46 points in 74 games. He made 7 million. O'Reilly had 55 points in 82 games. He made 6 million. The price for O'Reilly is going to going to be high. Isn't he asking for a 7 or 8 year deal for 8 million a season? And of course you have to factor in what player(s) and a draft pick will need to be traded to bring him to Buffalo. I'd stick w/ Reinhart. His level of play improved enough to keep him. As for trading Reinhart + ? for Arizona's number 3, I do not think it's worth it. Strome could be a great a center, but Reinhart's level of play has progressed enough to keep him. He'll be a legit 2nd line center soon enough. No reason to be on the losing side of a trade w/ Arizona.

Wow! My 5 year old son surprised the heck out of me tonight. Very proud of him! He ran an entire mile w/out stopping! All his idea. Just beyond proud of the little guy!

Hopefully that can be fixed for PC gamers. Haven't played the PS4 version yet. Hope it doesn't have any problems, but let's face it. Games w/ glitches when released have become the norm. :(

Have never supported the rebel/confederate flag. Walmart is now removing any item w/ the flag from their stores. I support this. Sure, people are going to argue the flag has a different meaning today than it did 150 years. Tend to say it represents the southern culture in today's world. I understand that to a certain extent, but hate will always be associated w/ that flag. Take it down. Don't promote support of the rebel/confederate flag. Just a quick crazy to throw out there. Had a dentist appointment in Plattsburgh, NY 24 years ago. Dentists tend to give kids some type of "gift" for making it through whatever procedure w/ little difficulty. Dipped my hand into a box of goodies and pulled out a plastic confederate flag that could be worn. I had a vague idea of what it was. Put it back because I thought it was pointless. Simply wanted the candy. Just crazy to think the flag is used nation wide in some way or another.

And as play styles adapt to the wider rinks, different types of play will also develop to counter the new style of play. The puck will continue to be kept on the perimeter. Widening the rinks will not increase goal scoring. NHL needs to keep it simple. Just enforce the rule book. Call interference when it happens. The game would eventually flow better and goal scoring would increase.
