I think leadership is somewhat separate from pure talent or even minutes played . Pomminstein I like very much as a person but didn't think was good captain maybe to soft and likeable. Rienhart feel sort of the same. Captain I prefer stronger personality. I'm not in the room either so,as you, I'll trust the process.

I've heard several discussions about the quality of the NFL first month of games being hurt by the limited practice time dictated by the CBA. Skill still needs cohesiveness and practice serves that we'll. Having said that I'm not concerned about one practice. Housley is the one who should be most concerned by another bad start. Marked improvement or he may be unemployed.

I thought Nylander should stay up but not overly concerned. He will get his chance.

Right now coach clappy is not one I'm looking to as an example of course I'm not sold on Phil either.

Okay. I'm going into this season thinking more positive than last. Just feel we're more balanced overall. I loved ROR but fact is we lose with or without him. Our additions don't have ROR quality but add depth and experience to our forward lines. Our defense and goaltending are question marks. Overall I'm looking for improvement this year and at least sniffing playoff possibilities but probably not a playoff team.

Flagg just curious. What did you expect? You predict 75 points with same group of players. Nylander going down rather than ? Is a difference of five points. Or are you just questioning the makeup of the lines.

Incomplete for me. I have a hunch things are getting better but you know how hunches are. Frankly, in spite of the records, I feel my hunch is stronger on the Sabres side. Bills last year was an aberration. Overall I think Sabres moves are ahead of the Bills. On paper(I know paper is cheap) Sabres have improved talent. Bills have lost talent.

Not sure. Just saying he was probably the fan favorite. I was okay with the hire but possibly a first time coach not the best fit. Time will tell.

Agree. Last year Bills record deceiving. Team will fall back to a 4-6 win team.

Whaley could see talent. Murray could evaluate talent. Neither could assemble a team. Hopefully Beane and Botterill can see the big picture not only individual talent. Great scouts may not be great general managers. Great general managers know what their team needs to fit all the pieces together.

Agree but he did change the core of this team and that meant ROR. It was the only way to substantially change the team's makeup. You couldn't do that by trading Girgensons or Bogosian. I'm willing to trade either but the ROR move was changing the team substantially in my opinion.

Just posted this in another thread. He did what he said he would do. Something had to change and not by just moving guys like Larson.

Liked this trade when it was made. Why because I don't like ROR? No, I loved him but if you were going to trade him I think they got more in return than I expected. Furthermore JBot did what he said he would do......change the core makeup of the team which many,if not most of us, wanted. So he's taken ownership of this team which I like and whatever comes of it he did what I think had to be done. You weren't changing the makeup of this franchise buy moving a Larson or Girgenson type players.
