  1. It seems like a fair list except it doesn't take into account the depth of some teams... Do we fair better if you add Bailey-Baptiste-Carrier-McCabe-Guhle-Fasching-Borgen and Petersen??? Not a prospect personnel guy so I'm not sure what other teams have
  2. A nice piece by Dave Davis on the Sabres situation.... http://kuklaskorner.com/tso/comments/while-bylsmas-seat-gets-warm-murray-still-gets-a-pass If we lose this afternoon (I hope not), do we start thinking of another mini-blow up and start getting all the kids up here???
  3. I'm not sure about good but agreed with the rest of it
  4. Bunkeritis will do that to you
  5. Did the Trump election not make you distrustful of polls??? Dang that WASN'T A POLITICAL STATEMENT...... I swear :P :P :P
  6. +1 You are not alone brother and no I am not your Cain. Plus I don't think GMTM's firing list will include "he makes Drunkard  sick  "
  7. Do you really think they'll fire him after we make the playoffs??? No way!!!
  8. ?????? Yep Agree with you again, I saw the original Star Wars while I still lived in Buffalo which was soon to be over. It blew away all special effects movies in its time. Episode V was good too, but this one ranks right behind those 2 for me.
  9. Unless we completely implode, I don't think he goes anywhere until the end of the season. And even then, after the TANK, I think he gets another year. We have a couple of fast players but we're not a fast team We have a couple of smart players but we're not a very smart team We have a couple of skilled players but we're not a very skilled team Our goalkeepers have a respectable save percentage but we let in some cheezy azz goals at the wrong time Long story short, I'm not overly happy with DB but I don't think this team is all on him YET.
  10. I thought Doctor Strange had phenomenal special effects but the movie wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I also thought Hacksaw Ridge was very good, didn't see it listed here, Vince Vaughan's best role in a long time. Arrival was also very good but much different than what I expected when I went in. Amy Adams will get nominated for her role Being a Star Wars fan, I thought Rogue One was one of the better one's in its genre.
  11. I liked Falk on the left side, not so much on the right Gorges is a valuable experienced vet but his loss of possession skills are second to none Bogosian's issues are injury related, when he's healthy he's fine but even I am tiring of waiting him out Kulikov I'm giving a pass to until the trade deadline, than I'm making a decision Franson is everything Gorges isn't, slow but he can get the puck out of his own zone, but he's gone I think either at the trade deadline if we aren't competitive
  12. Awesome songs that were classics in my mind and when I hear them after a long time it's like an epiphany for me. Led Zeppelin's.... Bring it on Home Rolling Stones..... You can't always get what you want Bob Dylan's ....... Desolation Row Beatles............... The trilogy--Golden Slumbers, Carry that Weight, The End U2's .................... All Because of you Patti Smith's ........ Gloria Clash's ............... Should I Stay or Should I Go Kenny Wayne Shepherd's........ I'm a King Bee Joe Cocker's ........ Cry me a River Stevie Ray Vaughan's.... Crossfire Buddy Guy's......... Mustang Sally Depeche Mode's... Personal Jesus There are more of course but those are the first that came to me
  13. This is too awesome +100, If you leave for awhile, HURRY BACK I couldn't have said this better Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or whatever you have good cause to Celebrate!!!!
  14. I don't disagree with you but as an example of yesterday's game, we had 23 SOG, 7 by Jack and 6 by Kane. I would venture to say nearly half of those were when they played on the same shifts. That means for 60 minutes of that game we had 10 total shots on goal by everyone else. Our shooting percentage needs to be thru the roof to make up for that abysmal showing. I was speaking to yesterday's game which appears to have inflamed the masses, otherwise I tend to agree with you
  15. +1 Not picking on you in particular but the thought. Not sure why exactly he did it but most likely we'll never hear what was the real reason. An example might be the less than awesome hustle in getting back on defense the past 2 games. An in FACT the Sabres had 2 PPlay opportunities in that game, he missed the first and played 1 minute 20 seconds in the 2nd. If that didn't put a gentle hint that whatever was unacceptable to an elite player at a very your age, what do you do with him when he really pulls some ANTICS. Sometimes you just have to put the puppy's nose in the mess and put him outside to let him know it's unacceptable to peepee in the house. This loss is on the players, Lehner for allowing two early goals on less than elite opportunities and the poor effort/game players put out. You can't coach professionalism and that's what it is when you don't put out your best effort. Plus not only did Bogosian and Kuli have poor games but Risto may have had his worst game since his rookie year. We also are under the illusion that our style is keeping us from scoring. There seems to be a mountain of evidence that may suggest some of these forwards we have don't have the acumen of putting the puck IN the net. Does Kane do everything right, NO in fact no-one does but if everyone on this team gave his effort and ROR's for that matter, we wouldn't be having this discussion or watch that atrocious game.
  16. First Ward, Valley, Kaisertown and Lovejoy Bocci Pizza, Ilio Dipaolo's, Bailo's (now Bar Bill Tavern) Bowling, tobogganing and inner tubing No way jose'
  17. Yes it's DD's fault that his top 3 guys are 0'fer 9 in shootout attempts, Okposo-ROR-Eichel. Okposo was 5 for 10 last year and 0 for 5-6 this year, that is definitely the Coach's fault  He also didn't have Gorges or Franson on his Dline's either
  18. He was expensive then too
  19. Actually I'm curious as to how it went, how did your boy enjoy the show, sounds like you had awesome seats too!!!
  20. Especially Flagg!!! He has to be emotionally drained after every game. For a guy with as many reasoned posts prior and post game, his "I hate the Sabres" and "this player sucks" takes during every period of every game is hilarious. Than he does a complete 180 when we score. Takes on the game and team Eichel and ROR are amazing with the puck. It's almost as if they have a rubber magnet on their sticks. Just nothing short of amazing puck handling skills. Okposo is better than I gave him credit for when we first signed him. Not spectacular at anything in particular but always seems to be in the right place at the right time doing the right thing. He's what I hope Samson evolves into and he has a long way to go. I know Gorges does a lot of things right but it's almost like a fluke when he makes a good pass. My God, if not a turnover machine, he just is an automatic loss of possession player. Drives me nuts. Fedun and Falk are 2 veteran players that don't make the major mistake to kill you. Can't wait for Bogosian to return, get Kuli back on the left side and slides Gorges down a slot. Risto is becoming the Dman we all want and crave. I don't quite understand the Kane hate on this board. He is what he is, a Deslauriers that puts points on the board. 7 points in the last 8 games. He's not going to dazzle you with possession skills but he's going to cause enough chaos and havoc on the ice to be effective, he's also defensively responsible. The 2nd PP unit is starting to play better, the drop in talent from the first group, Jack, Samson, Risto, ROR and Okposo to Kane, Moulson, Franson, Gianta and McCabe is pretty steep but if I'm not mistaken they've gone from terrible to scoring 2 goals in the last 3 games. Pretty impressive for a group that doesn't have a QB to guide it. We are 7-3-2 in our last 12 games!!!!
  21. You are my Underdog when in this world the headlines read of those whose hearts are filled with need who rob and steal from those who need hockey to right this wrong with blinding speed goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! speed of lightning, roar of thunder fighting all who sob of politic Underdog. Underdog!
  22. All of this is so true. On the pain.... yes, especially the night of the surgery and the morning after, meds couldn't kick in fast enough. As for the meds my recommendation is to eat plenty of fiber especially in the morning/breakfast. Much better to keep it active than to have it back up on you. Trust me you don't want to go there.
  23. So we fire the guy because he only gets to 90????? Inquiring minds want to know. I'm in the SwampD camp, this year has been such an injury filled travesty so far that I'm not sure how you possibly fairly rate his job this season and the team's future development. Unless I'm wrong I don't see any outward signs of the team turning on him and for the most part it seems they are playing hard for him and appear to be still listening to his advice. Plus with all the lost games to injuries we're still a stones throw away from a playoff spot albeit a longer shot than what it may appear. I don't foresee Tampa struggling all year long.
  24. Seemed to me that when he received the penalty for them to go up 2-0 he was dropped to the 4th line. Not sure if it was to get that line going or a hint that taking penalties was not his job. Either way a win for HCDB
  25. Roll another one,Just like the other one. You been holding onto it, And I sure would like a hit! Don't bogart that joint my friend, Pass it over to me It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I thought ROR was a shoo-in last year. After the way the McDavid capitaincy played out in Edmonton and the way the team responded when Jack came back, I'm not too sure anymore
