  1. Bryson is a replacement for Chychrun in the same way a bag of human manure would be a replacement for a steak dinner. On an elemental level they are essentially the same thing, but you'd much rather have one than the other.
  2. For as long as there have been people. Yup.
  3. The roster is still broken so I'll reserve judgement for now. The team scores and is fun to watch most nights. It's concerning that they suck at home and to me that's indicative of a problem. Idk what the problem is but there is something different in the environment when they are away from home. Granato and Adams need to identify what that is and fix it. I strongly suspect that means moving some people out. Whether that's one or two or however many. There is something going on.
  4. Getting pantsed at home by a good team. Again. I'd like to say I'm shocked.
  5. Fair enough. Tortorella is a bit much, but idk why we can't agree that there are multiple ways to succeed. If he doesn't win in Philly it will be because the team isn't good enough. Not specifically because he is the way he is. Meaning, when he's fired eventually, it won't be a situation where a different, warmer, fuzzier coach comes in and immediately kicks ass with the same group of players. Tbh, I think he fits the ethos of that city, and what they want out of their hockey team, pretty well. He doesn't take any crap and he doesn't particularly care what you think about it.
  6. Well he'll have to be content with the one he already has then. He and Babcock can compare rings with Boudreau. Oh, right.
  7. Is that how that works or does it just clear Stones prorated salary for the rest of the year?
  8. Odds are he won't but it's not going to be because he benched Travis Sanheim one time and made him angry. You hire Tortorella to be Tortorella and if I were him I'd want to get fired doing the job the way I believe it should be done. All coaches get fired eventually. If it were you would you want to go out being yourself or trying to be something you aren't? If Tortorella suddenly starting acting like Bruce Boudreau it would come off so fake he'd lose the room instantly. Let's not pretend that there was no communication ahead of this or that Sanheim had any confusion about how the coach felt about his play. He'd heard the feedback and ignored it which indicates a player feels entitled to ice time. How do you fix that? You take away the ice time. There are plenty of players we've called for benching. All the time. Do we ask or care who happens to be in attendance that night? Does it matter? It's not pee wee hockey.
  9. I think he's trying to measure how Sanheim is going to respond and if he doesn't like the response he won't be on the club in 2 weeks. He's also measuring how Sanheim's buddies respond and if they tank they'll be gone too. That was the one insight he gave in that grumpy post game. Paraphrasing, we are trying to figure out who is going to be in the room. Not for nothing, Tortorella has a job to do and worrying about whose parents are in the stands isn't on that list. You wanna play when your folks are in the building maybe suck less for the two weeks leading up to it. What does Tortorella owe Sanheim?
  10. While building forts and watching sports while visiting ports of sorts?
  11. His truck wanted to twerk. It's not his fault.
  12. Number one, I'm pretty sure most of team didn't like him. Number two trading guys off a losing team isn't the same thing as trading off a team that has shown growth and bonded somewhat as a group.
  13. Eleven not liking the memes is a meme unto itself at this point is it not?
  14. That's all well and good until the GM has to make a tough decision and send out a popular player. Adams hasn't really had to do that yet. We will see what happens when he does.
  15. Sec. 22.01. ASSAULT. (a) A person commits an offense if the person: (1) intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causes bodily injury to another, including the person's spouse; (2) intentionally or knowingly threatens another with imminent bodily injury, including the person's spouse; or (3) intentionally or knowingly causes physical contact with another when the person knows or should reasonably believe that the other will regard the contact as offensive or provocative. What you saw is a Class A misdemeanor in Texas. What happens in a hockey game is treated differently most of the time, but things that have happened on the ice have been prosecuted before. I so very much wish I could begin each school year with that lesson.
  16. You beet me to it. How is Radysh? Does he have the onions to play the sort of game we need or is he another potato?
  17. If you say his name 3 times he will appear in your state and run for Senate.
  18. protecting children from what? ideas? Let me add another one I hear a lot. Schools are not for indoctrinating our students they are for teaching them how to think. That fine except they leave out the part that they really mean. They are for teaching children to think...like us. Oddly, they never seem to remove things which are indoctrinating that they happen to agree with. Things like the Pledge of Allegiance. And it's not that I don't think we are free. That wasn't my point. My point was the people who scream about freedom and liberty the loudest are more than happy to take it away from people they don't think are worthy of it.
  19. Only if you think it does. IIRC they referred to the song in that way indirectly as it is known as the Black National Anthem...which it is. That's just factual. They introduced the song by it's actual name. https://youtu.be/p0Qzu6r40_4
