  1. I agree that we need a goalie as well and I share your concern about Saros. I don't see the Sabres getting a goalie right now though. At least not one that will move the needle significantly.
  2. Can we trade their g/fs then? They are wealthy young hockey players. They can acquire new ones.
  3. EDM is making the playoffs so consider that a 2023 lottery protected 1, a 4, a cap dump with mid value to make the money work on EDM side not necessarily to help Nashville, and the equivalent of a late one/early 2 who is several years out. From BUF: lottery protected 2023 1st, 2023 4th, Östlund or Leionen (chosen because they are close to Schaefer in draft slot and just as far away from the NHL, Kulich is closer), Bishop's contract to keep them above the cap floor, and the rights to Johnson? I also would rather not
  4. I agree with you BTW and what I was getting at is that Josh Bloom will always be Josh Bloom and in order to trade Josh Bloom you have to find someone who likes Josh Bloom. A 3rd round pick can still be anybody and it's easier to sell the concept of a lottery ticket than a defined player if the defined player is a meh prospect
  5. I saw something about the Penguins and Elias Pettersson but I have no Earthly idea what Pittsburgh has that Vancouver would want.
  6. I like how we use +/- when it suits our purposes. Can we continue to pretend that they played with the same partners too and that it doesn't matter? Or that they had similar usage patterns? Or ignore that they have different skill sets and that doesn't matter either? Or that one is nearly 25 and the other is nearly 34? Can we also continue to ignore that the nicest thing I've said about Stillman to this point is "he might not suck"? I don't need Stillman to score goals. I don't care how many goals Schenn scored either. The Sabres gave up a known commodity in Bloom. You know who the player is and at this point they think they know about what he will become. The Leafs gave up a lottery ticket. Nobody knows who that player will be or what they will become. Which would you rather have, a 100% Josh Bloom or a small chance at Brayden Point?
  7. Well that's some compelling evidence. I'm glad I played.
  8. He wouldn't sign with Anaheim but he will sign with San Jose? Ok.
  9. NYR theory of player acquisition since always.
  10. Worse in a different way maybe. Yakking up the puck and horrible breakouts rather than getting steamrolled and run over. I dunno. Maybe he's not terrible. I wonder who they plan on pairing him with.
  11. Ha! Absolutely will happen. I went to 2 Bills games this year. Sat next to Dolphins fans both times. If people sold THOSE tickets with the expectations that team had they will absolutely sell tickets to Bruins fans for what should be a slaughter.
  12. I'm think ahead to the end of March when they sign Levi. Rochester doesn't want 3 goalies either and Buffalo doesn't want 4. Someone is going to Cincinnati unless a goalie leaves via trade before that.
  13. Exactly, how does AZ bring him back after this? They have to move him. Make it a high 2 this year and a 1 next year and I like it. This year is a really good draft, next year's isn't.
  14. So if he clears waivers UPL is going down and Houser is going to Cincinnati on an NHL deal, right? If they sign Levi before the end of the year something like this has to happen anyway does it not? I can't imagine a goalie is getting traded unless it's UPL. Who would want the other two?
  15. This. It's the opportunity cost as much as the actual cost.
  16. If we can get it down from 31 teams that would to 1 I'll take it.
  17. It would be hilarious if we picked up Jost and Greenway for basically nothing and made them both into useful players. Maybe we can get them to send us Foligno too.
  18. Yes, I think we need 2 defensemen anyway. I'll send them Bryson, Clague, or Lyubushkin if they really need a body. I'd prefer to send them the rights to Johnson though. No way Schenn fetches a two. If he would he'd have been dealt already. He's a 4th at best.
