  1. I might be 18 for you big boy.......
  2. No idea how their respective contracts read but I'm going to assume that may have a lot to do with who can go where.
  3. I am really hoping that they play him once every 7 days and on back-to-backs only for the first few months no matter the opponents. Let Tokarski take the *easy* minutes early in the season. When it gets tough come February I would like Anderson not be worn out and give them some good games when the games really matter to a lot of teams trying to make the playoffs.
  4. I was really trying to pass myself off as at least 16.... epic fail on my part.
  5. Per an article by Jourdon LaBarber at Sabres.com "I've never lost faith, I've never lost hope in the dream staying alive," he said. "Again, when I found out I was coming to Buffalo, it was a team I think that I fit well with, a bunch of guys that want to earn it every day, want to win, want to turn things around for this city. And I want to be a part of it." He's a young defensemen looking to prove he has what it takes and seems to fit the GMKA player mentality. Hard not to root for him.
  6. I can see the team *electing* him captain.
  7. If UPL doesn't claw his way out of the dog house they may be flipping their mailing addresses by the start of the new year.
  8. It's started with our biggest troll.... SDS. Here’s a provocative question… Does anyone see how Jack Eichel’s play fits into the style we just watched?
  9. Going off the only regular season game so far Kyle was the captain last night. He played a great game and was the leader of the YouTube high-light reel.
  10. Well if your generation is 25 years old and smoking hot you are right on!
  11. How we must beat down one so optimistic.... because Buffalo I guess.
  12. For an opening night win there is still to much doom an gloom. Rejoice. We hoped for a win and received one. Let there be happiness for one night before the oppressors way in on the forth coming of the apocalypse.
  13. To have a goalie like that on the team and not trade for one must mean that MONTREAL IS ALL IN ON THE TANK! Can't be they couldn't find one without giving up way more than they thought reasonable, incompetent Montreal FO.
  14. Veteran rope. Coach hands it out till he hangs himself.
  15. OH look ! GA has another doom and gloom thread! I'm so surprised!
  16. GA hates the team, the players, the FO, the coaches, the GM, and especially the owners . Leave it to him to start a thread like this.
  17. Best thing for his development.
  18. He was sent down and played a preseason game for the RAs and is now back in Buffalo to take part in practice. Looks like the coaches have him as a big club bubble player and are trying to get a good look at him before they announce their line up. Good on him working his tail off yesterday and having a good game and making a go of it. He'll be back. Month or two down there getting lots of minutes and a lot more practice time he will be back better than ever.
  19. I'm okay with Dylan starting in Rochester. He'll be better for it in 6 months. He can come up to the big club for a month or two and then be back down for the RA playoff run.
  20. First period was about as lopsided in the favor of the Sabres as I've seen in a long time. Rolling 4 lines, super fast paced, totals in the stat sheet favored for the Sabres except for goals. Second period was more balanced with the eye test. What was different with the eye test is Detroit's top line (Bertuzzi line) played a lot more minutes where Buffalo still seemed to roll a balanced 4 lines. The Girgensons goal was pure hustle for a preseason game by a Vet. I'd put that on a video loop in the locker room and leave it playing till someone out hustled that. It's why he has an *A*. Third period was tilted toward the Sabres. Fast pace with some nice passing, not the odd man rushes and in close shots like the first but just how a team needs to close out a one goal game, with the puck and most of the time in the offensive zone. Most noticeable points where late in the third. Two-ish minutes left with the Bertuzzi line on and Detroit's goalie pulled it's the Thompson line out there. Nothing fancy by the Sabres with everything to the outside till Anderson stops play. Not who I thought we would see during those minutes, but pre season.. Granato said it best in the post game press conference *Thompson has been intriguing at center this preseason...* Next line out is the Skinner line for the puck drop in the D zone. Hinistroza makes a great defensive play in the d zone to get the puck out to Skinner at mid ice. Skinner has a easy empty net goal only to hold up and make a nice pass to Vinnie for the empty net. Vinnie deserved the goal, Skinner was vet enough to know it. Some interesting dynamics.
  21. It certainly wasn't new thread worthy. Until it's news it's just a random tweet. Leave it for the mega threads of enjoyable conversation.
  22. 4 days and 14 pages of nothin all because of 1 tweet.
  23. although a source close to the situation said the information is not coming directly from the Sabres as TSN inferred Thursday night and reported on its Web site on Friday. You would imagine new agent Pat Brisson's regular talks with Sabres GM Kevyn Adams have pushed the exchange of information as being very necessary. Per Harrington... Believe who you want.
