It was all part of the melt down during mid-tank. It did seem to have a positive outcome as a thread was started on how the make SS better for new posters.

My understanding was he came into camp because of his concussion around 245 lbs, his playing weight is under 220 lbs. That is a lot of excessive weight on his frame for those joints/tendons/muscles to handle.

The Stars are a fun team to watch and have dominated the Oilers yet the score is tied. McDavid's first goal in the NHL was weak. Sekera has made the Oilers , dare I say, respectable on their back end? No, I take that back as that is too nice. Sekera makes them not good , nor average, not even pushing average, they just are not the 2nd worst defense (Buffalo had to be the worst last year) in the league anymore with him.

I guess my first though about those two separate actions is that we have a GM that knows what is right and gets it done in short order.

Can't say as I'm surprised, and actually quite glad we will see our 2 AHLer's getting some time with the big club. It seems to fit into what this season is all about, jelling as a team and finding out what we got.

It's what's best for Sam, he's not going to be the reason they do/do not make the playoffs this year or maybe next year also. His development is crucial to the future success of the franchise. Strength, confidence and leadership need developed. I don't want it determined by a GM that needs success now to keep a job, which means that Sam should get what's best for Sam as opposed to the previous regime. If he stays I truly believe that is what coach/gm believe best, and conversely if he goes to the A. I won't be up set either way. I believe Sam is just as needed for a cup run as Jack. What ever is best is what I want.

But his down side is he's playing less than 11 minutes a game. If he where in Rochester he would be playing almost 20 minutes a game. You are in effect doubling his learning curve time by restricting his playing time. If all stays the same come mid January, Sam will have played approximately 300 minutes less hockey in the NHL (30 games x 10 minutes difference per game) VS. the AHL.

I saw that earlier and it made me glad. Means he's healthy and the Sabres are doing right for his development.

Yes, I was in a bar called the Turtle Bar north of Tampa, all about Green bay Packers. Fun bar, nice people. They liked the Bills cause the fans had the same mentality (small city, bad rap, us against the world ect..) The Steelers are every where. Dad's wife is a Steelers fan, they have hang outs all over. Another group of people that are every where are WVU fans. My brother was a WVU graduate, an in any given city in America there is a WVU party going on in a bar during a game. I have to say WVU fans are party rock stars.
