  1. I'm with you music.
  2. If he was a native speaker, he speaks well and writes pretty darn good.
  3. Let him sit a game or 2, with Mike Weber, Tyler, Brian, Matt... Then they'll all be fine.
  4. Is that one goalie or 2? I'm getting a little confused around here, well, more confused than my normal confused anyway.
  5. If you have ever watched the movie *A Quiet Man* with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara they coined a phase for a 5 mile walk through the woods... A good stretch of the legs. Can't say as that they are not one of the best ways to relieve stress and enjoy an afternoon myself.
  6. You've won round 1, the hardest round to win. Last year at this time the thought of doing a 5k was non existent. But here you are today the finisher of a 5k. Not as good as you where hoping, but it was your first and doing something for the first time very rarely if ever is done well. You're already playing how you're going to come out fighting in round 2. OUTSTANDING!
  7. With a Bloody Mary I hope.
  8. My money is on the Big guy, Age a treachery are no match for youthful enthusiasm.
  9. That's an oxymoron, right?
  10. Just stop it right there mister! How dare you try and stop a perfectly good discussion born of frustration and losing. We'll see how lovey-dovey you are come Saturday night if they lose in a shoot out. But in all serious, I get the same type feed back from non-Sabres fans that will talk to me.
  11. I only talk about Fried Doug behind his back and on Fried Days.
  12. Should really be in a separate thread but I my ethnicity is amping... Fastnacht kuechles **************************************************************************** I believe it was TFIGHTER that stated this in the GDT. Thought I should get it out before the interwebs police swoop in. Are they relatively large roundish thin fried donuts that are then given a generous heaping of cinnamon and sugar or confectionery sugar? They where often found at fairs and called elephant ears, right?
  13. And those potato pancakes (can't remember the German name), mmmmmmmmmm!
  14. Yah, but a lot of them are sour. Sorry, couldn't resist...
  15. An Irish man or 2 have been known to have lived there. They had something to do with a long shallow water thingy.
  16. There will be no neutral zone. Players will use the entire rink to find open spots. Would be more like basketball, always looking for the lay up pass, fast back and forth.
  17. So we need some form of chicken sacrificing ritual and some one called JoeBoo (what ever it was called in Major League) to lift the curse , right? My vote is we meet up at pA's house and get this done.
  18. It would be very, very, very difficult for any one to convince me that an 80's goalie in equipment of that era would maintain a .92 + save % today, which is what it takes to be an average goalie in today's game. The elite will always be elite. Gretzky/Lemieux would be great today. Would Rob Ray and Brad May even be on a team today? Why not? Because they are not offensively skilled enough to make a team? The players have evolved, the game has been static. Give the fans what the rest of pro sports have done, make it easier to score, not harder.
  19. Not yet. To soon. He has not given up a 1st rounder to leave us none for multiple years. But a shot across the bow......
  20. And the skill and athleticism of forwards has not increased proportionally? Defense-men are not with better aim and faster slap shots? If evolution of the game and it's players was equal in all areas scoring would remain a constant, yet scoring is way down.
  21. One of the commentators put it very well, sad and beautiful. My wife's grandmother died the day her husband died, sadly her body has lived on. 70 years of marriage and her will caved, but her body keeps going. She cares about nothing or nobody, just wants the grieving to end.
  22. We don't have to kill a goalie to get a goal, well a few of us don't think so right D4ark, but if in the 80's 35% of all break always resulted in a goal and today it 5%, maybe it's the size of the human and his pads in the goal that have something to do with it? Decrease goalie equipment (keeping safety a major factor) and increase the net size. Use baby steps till break-aways are at an equal percentage.
  23. Thanks MODO! Likes: The bigger ice surface, speed and skill are more evident and harder to neutralize. Fans sing and chant, never a dull moment. You are allowed to have flags and banners. A power play is a power play in any language. Dislikes: Uniforms look like a cross between the Detroit Redwings and a NASCAR driver. (but hey, you got sponsors and a hockey team) Please include more chances for us to watch. Today was not a good day for me, but now that I got highlights and maybe a half hour heads up(?) I'd give a look see. Thanks again!
  24. So if we have the same amount of scoring chances for the last 3 decades, the logically thing to do is decrease goalie equipment and increase net size till the scoring opportunities and goals from them are equal to that of the 80's and 90's?
  25. Well give ME a KISS please! Please share an idea that is easy to implement.
