  1. They where talking about that game on NHL tonight or Top Shelf and all I could think was.... darn, that had to be a fun game to watch!
  2. Yes. The balance of patience and cutting losses.
  3. you Joker..
  4. Well that's to bad. I don't get hockey night in Canada so I see very little non Buffalo games where Canadian clubs are playing and assumed the Canadian teams where the exception.
  5. It's not just Buffalo. When Buffalo plays a road game there are empty seats, and it's not just because they are playing the Sabres. Arena's all over may very well be sold out, but the secondary market is not there. There are a lot of empty seats. Any one catch the Washington-Detroit game on NBCSN last night? That place should have been packed and rocking but there where a lot of empty seats and it was sedate. The game has lot something. Scoring is down, the hate/rivalry between players and teams has been lost. I just thought it was me or Sabres fans in general because of the tank. But I keep seeing the lack of fan enthusiasm as I watch other games and don't think it's just a Buffalo problem.
  6. If he doesn't let go of his guys that are under performing wouldn't that be a trait of Darcy Reiger we all had the greatest issue with? But that brings up the question of time. How long do you keep an under performing player thinking they are going to blossom but just haven't yet? Don't want to pull a Boston.
  7. I think this post is the very definition of the old saying ...adding insult to injury. Glad you're ok, and still with a great sense of humor!
  8. Completely under stand. Mine is James Neil. Watched him all the years he was in Pitt. Grew to despise his game.
  9. Them, some pickled eggs with a few beers and you'd be ripe for fracking.
  10. Awesome is.... I actually got that one. Am I in the right thread?
  11. Love the fan watching horse hockey.
  12. Wait, WHAT? It's not ok to take your Teddy Bear into the men's room and set it up on the urinal when taking care of business and then shorty there after throw it out onto the ice? Plastic bag my azz. That's crazy talk.
  13. Not 30th for sure. But you can throw a hat on team points that separate 19-25th place teams. I expect there, and still do.
  14. It's not the losses. We all expect losses. It's they look horrible in these past two losses. When they play Calgary on Thursday would an over time loss be acceptable? They'll need to improve their game greatly to achieve that, and that is the part that's frustrating. It's not the occasional mental break down that leads to a loss, it's as a team, they sucked.
  15. Las Vegas sent out a clean up squad of cops? Who knows.
  16. The horse and buggy dude. They don't interact with the thoroughbred folk. It's about as different as curling and hockey. Trotter, because they trot. If the break their trot, they forfeit the race.
  17. Son of a Beetch. We walked around and no body bothered us. Had a great time. Such is life I guess.
  18. He scores, he agitates, he gets guys off their game, he gives it, and gets what he gives with out a whimper or a whine. I'm not saying I have total respect for the guy, but if Pat Kaleta was all that, we'd love him and he wouldn't be in Rochester.
  19. In my opinion after reading everyone's posts to win a cup you need a skill core, and I hate to say it this way but it most accurately describes it, a hard core. The skill core is most often only to begotten as early round draft picks, top 10. The hard core are later rounders, not a dime a dozen, but replaceable and it may take 4-5 players a year going through Juniors/Rochester to get the one the team needs. So members of the hard core that find another team willing to pay them beyond their salary cap era value are the most easily to let go, because there is a stock pile ready to replace them. It's not a question of the value of the player on the ice to get a Cup because it takes all types, but the replacement value in the draft that decides the core.
  20. Thanks. It's even simpler than I remembered.
  21. We did not rent a car and stayed in old town or center city, or what ever they call the area where casinos are older than the life expectancy of men's underwear. Pro's Can walk to multiple casinos, they are closer and you can casino hop. They don't seem as loud as the strip ones. For the first first few days you don't mind the noise, but after a while it's like your Quasi Moto living in the bell tower of Notre Dame. Con's Their dated. Not as big and glitzy. Your not getting your picture taken in or around them. Not sure how long your staying or if your renting a car. Hoover Dam. Nice 1/2 day trip. My 2 cents.
  22. Points Matter? Ooooo, those points. pA can have all the points.
