I believe in the goal differential being a good indicator. Whether a team is offense or defense first, a positive goal differential usually means wins.

This is what I’m getting at. You are saying their prospect pool is better because they have Bedard. If their entire pool gets 2000 points in their careers while the Sabres pool gets 3000 theirs is still better because they have Bedard? It’s a pool of players and the Sabres depth is as good or better than anyone else’s. Having a Bedard is great to bring people out of their seats but I’m at a point where 3 scoring lines give you a better chance of winning. McDavid can score 150 points in a season but the team can’t go far in the playoffs due to lack of depth and goaltending.

They wouldn’t give him up for Eichel so I think they slightly overvalue their guys.

Benson is also good defensively, Datsyuk was a great 200’ player. I just want Benson to end up better than most of that draft class, so the team can win and elevate their reputation.

I know your point is star power but since we don’t have Bedard I am looking at the big picture. Let’s say Bedard has a great HOF career and ends up with 1300 points. Benson has a decent career as a top 6 winger and ends up at 650 points. Kulich and Savoie may be a notch below and end up between 400-500 points. None of these guys were elite but contributed more than Bedard. Those three may end up as a solid second line for a few years. Bedard is a crown jewel but it takes a team to win. We’ll see how Chicago builds around him. We know how Edmonton has done with 2 of the top players in the world.

Exactly. Junior and University team busses are rolling through here in the summer, being used by soccer and baseball teams and others.

Buffalo sabres Coaching staff Received Contract extensions.?

They trust DG and like what he has done and is building towards. DG is loyal to his staff and wanted them kept around. I agree with @Taro Tthat the special teams coaching could use some help or replacement. I was hoping to see Quinn on PP1 to bring another good shooter in plus his puck handling and passing ability would add a few layers of options. I’m not a fan of TNT and VO just standing around waiting to be fed. That is one look they can use but really lacks creativity. -
Sabres sign Defenseman Connor Clifton to 3 year 3.33 AAV Deal

Good interview. I like when he says he brings a hard nosed game and likes to shut down plays. -
I don’t have OCD but like a tidy home. Helped my oldest move a while back and the two cats left behind the equivalent of two more in hair under the furniture. Tough to keep my mouth shut but I don’t want to get a hairball.

TNT is definitely in the top 10 centres as far as offensive play. His defensive game needs work and his faceoff skills. I would say he is in the group around 7-12 depending on how effectiveness is measured. Guys like Bergeron, Barkov and Kopitar can’t score like Tage but bring other facets of the position that make them highly valued. TNT may not need to be as good defensively because his skating, size, reach and stick handling have him keep the puck longer than most. Being on the positive side of the possession game is a good form of defense.

Fitzy didn’t look any better in Florida and is just a depth piece there too. -
This team has had some good prospects over the last few years but a weak team at the NHL level. Now the team is ready to take the next step with a strong prospect pool to provide depth, push the players to new heights or to be moved for assets that are required. I know I am wearing rose coloured glasses but I feel this team can be a force for 8-10 years.

I think Krebs should get the 3C slot in the fall. Getting him away from KO and Girgs will help him generate more offense. I think Mitts and Cozens could be a potent duo and have righty/lefty draw options.

Awesome!

Thanks a lot! I had seen this article but didn’t really know how to use Google translate. Sounds like a good kid. He added 8 kilos, almost 20 lbs. Hockey cuisine?

Kirkland Lake, Ontario, poupalion around 10,000 has produced 25-30 NHLers. The majority of them were in the 50’s and 60’s, the heyday of the gold mines. Darren Puppa is the last guy I recall from there. Kind of like Ovik in Sweden, where MoDo is based. They produced a crazy amount of players in the last 25 years.
-
St Louis has been ramping that up the last 10 years or so.

Briere is asking for 2 firsts, you’re offering more. May get Laughton added from your proposal. If Hart clears the Team Canada scandal, I would offer ‘24 first and Rosen(Sabres return for Risto). I still like MAF as an option. Hellebuyck as a long shot.

Plus the salary, $1.85M, would not fit many teams’ budgets. -
What’s left for KA to do this Summer?

Cozens is still 4-5 years from his prime. I don’t expect another big jump but he should remain close to those totals while improving his all round game. He is still getting stronger and will be a handful to play against. If Quinn was there all season, he would easily exceed last year’s totals. Peterka and Krebs will build on their World Championship performances. Peterka may get more PP time with Quinn out. Krebs could be their Cirelli, this year. Power has so much room to grow that he could be more of a force at both ends. I doubt he puts up big numbers, but he will own the puck and do great things with it. -
I think the Sabres make up ground on these teams, beating them head to head will help a lot. I don’t like thinking about other team’s injuries because while the Sabres depth is improving they can’t afford a significant injury to a core piece either. I think with the improvement of some non playoff teams, there will be a chipping away of points of the top teams in the east. Two years ago the Caps were the 8th seed with 100 points while the Isles were 9th with 84. Last year 92 got the Panthers in with the Sabres at 91.

Why is waiting for the right time for all involved lame? If he was a UFA on Aug.1st I might be starting to fidget a little bit but there is plenty of time. Maybe they want a photo op with Terry and a suitcase full of cash.
