Dallas Stars won again to knock Vegas out of the wildcard spot. This is the most interest I’ve ever had in the Stars.

Florida will be tired from yesterday. The Sabres need to take advantage of this and play a fast paced game. They have shown to be capable of this and need to pressure the Cats to have a chance. Too bad Levi couldn’t have been signed and have him start vs Knight in a World Juniors grudge match. Let’s go Buffalo!

He should be able to beat Cole Caufield in a board battle. Seriously though, the reach and strength should be an advantage when cycling the puck. If he shields the puck with that big body, most defenders will have a hard time.

He will be a beast along the wall if he gets more physical. Add a reverse hit (Forsberg) to his arsenal and he gets extra time and space to create offence.

He’s a great goalie but it is too much for two years of service. A goalie on the next tier may be available as a UFA or a cap casualty in the summer.

In a year where they have 9 picks, a goalie in the later rounds would be wise, imo.

I would keep him, unless a trade offer is just too good. Scoring depth spread throughout your lines is not a bad thing. If your 3rd line has a 20 goal scorer with a ceiling of 30 on it, that is a threat for the opponent. DG will probably look at shuffling the lines a bit to finish the year to get some looks at might work. VO could be on any of the top 3 lines. He can be a shooting option opposite TT on PP1 or the trigger man on PP2 .

When your team has no skill you probably don’t want to play run and gun. Bettman should just suck up his pride and move this team.

Wow, what a game. Great effort all night long and the barn sounded amazing. These guys wanted to win this for RJ. As Rob Ray said, he doesn’t wear the sweater but he is the Buffalo Sabres. Good on you that attended tonight, I could feel the love of the crowd towards RJ. Awesome!

Yeah, how many guys have a career year the season before UFA status? UFAs are also 27+ so at their peak or starting the downhill side of their careers. UFA is a decent place to look for complimentary pieces but not your go to guys.

I don’t think they can make the cap work. They might have to put Dadonov and more on waivers. I am not a capologist so don’t take this to the bank.
