Dubas has brought in tons of former Soo guys to the Leafs like Murray, Bunting, Muzzin, Campbell, Simmonds, McCann, Timmins, Sandin.

Haven’t you heard, Dubas is a genius. He has alternate IDs for all of his players. Matthews could show up as Pablo Scorez. Then again, the Marlies may not want the stench of playoff losers in their room.

I love Mule, he is one of my favourite players and his value was obviously missed when he was out. As a 18-19 year old in the KHL I would think Novikov is limited to 3rd pairing and maybe some PK. The top scoring Dman on his team only had 32 points in 65 games. I doubt Mule gets more than 20 points per season. Half of those will be secondary assists from giving it to Dahlin.

I think it is an NHL seniority thing. I would think there is a short leash if he falters, having two NHL calibre goalies waiting in the wings. Montembeault is not Carey Price.

Mule is offensively challenged but he plays his role and has been signed as a key player.

Levi was dressed as the backup. TSN said Tourigny will go with Montembeault for the important games. I guess Levi and Hofer may get a game or two each. There are 7 round robin games.

He should get a game or two. Tourigny was his coach at the World Juniors he starred in. Their upcoming opponents are Slovenia, Norway, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Czechia, Switzerland, surely he can handle a few of those.

Heaven forbid you have THE GUY and he gets hurt for a lengthy stretch of games. You need a backup that can hold his own and a guy in Rochester who can back up a few games.

I know VO has become a guy most of us want to get rid of. I am one of them too. I think his shot on the PP can be replaced by Quinn while Kulich, Savoie, Rousek can bring other elements in that VO does not provide. He has some trade value, get something that the Sabres need like a 4/5 D. Sweeten the deal with a pick if it comes to that.
