Two words: Shawn Thornton. Aka, trash.

I'm still shocked that in they've scored 5 goals in the first period in the last two games. The second period played up tempo for Minnesota. The Haula goal was annoying.
-
That's true, but if you look at all the ways he was able to get in through the defense with his size, you can just see his game translating. His size and the speed are just a perfect match for Eichel!
-
I'm still all in on the Puljujarvi train. The natural scoring touch was there in last years WJR at 16 and all he did was lead the tournament in scoring this season. He's so talented for his size. I have a strong admiration for Laine for sure. Matthews has done nothing to depreciate his value, and if anything the top three this season is as tempting as last season.

Spot on Duds! I still can see Nashville passing them at some point before the end of the season.
-
Ristolainen looked terrible on the left side limitedly, Pysyk would play there easily before he would.
-
Only if they claim a waived Moulson! :D
-
Well yes I agree, but over his last season and a half he was already out the door.

Hello, Mr. Stafford clone.

Go Samson! Wow a great start tonight! Minus the hiccup by Little to Wheeler.

Mainly because it looks like Matt Greene is not coming back anytime soon. They did it to get a right handed shot defensemen who fits their style. They haven't had much success with Weal, Shore and a couple of other options on the third line. They must view Lecavalier as an upgrade. Not sure why. Lecavalier has already been quoted stating that he will retire at the end of the year. The third for Schenn is about an average return on a pending UFA. Hextall is a great GM. Albeit for the Hartnell for Umberger deal which he did mainly for the amount of years for years.

There is no chance under any condition that I am trading the 1st round pick. Right now that's: Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine, Jesse Puljujarvi or Jacob Chychrun. At a reasonable trade for undervalue. :D

Wouldn't you say that he'd (Drouin) be an upgrade over any player outside of Kane that they could pair Eichel with. He's gone between a combination Zemgus, Gionta, Kane, Ennis and Moulson a lot lately. I would say letting Drouin figure it out with a team that clearly is at best finishing 10th-11th in the conference would be no different than spending it in the AHL.

Good find. They do need some of their secondary scoring to step up. To me it starts with Zemgus, he's been solid in the defensive zone all season and he's slowly starting to put up more shots. However, he's the perfect example of a player who needs to get it going. The second thing that will strongly help is Mark Pysyk coming back and remaining healthy. He cycles and skates well and makes the right pass more often than not. Less Weber/Colaiacovo and more Pysyk should help. I don't know what it is about this team, but for the most part their worst period is the 1st. More often than not they're falling behind early and playing catch-up. Slowly their becoming a middle of the pack team with 95 for and 104 against, which is coming back towards semi-respectability. It is a much improved number as compared to last year. For me it seems more likely than not they'll finish similarly that they did in the month of December. They're making strides, but they are still a few "right pieces" away from being a playoff contender. Go GMTM! GO SABRES! -
I'm good with something around Ennis and salary back to cover the difference. Drouin would have time for the remainder of the season to gel with Eichel or O'Reilly and show the talent that he has. He's a total buy low candidate.
-
Moulson is a step slower than most of the players in the top six. I just see him as a piece not fitting the puzzle. I would love a change of scenery trade if we could fine someone who isn't a much worse off contract.
-
Plus the asking price starts and ends with Ristolainen doesn't it? I would think Eberle is the more obvious target if there was a Edmonton deal to be had.
-
To be honest, Namestnikov has out played him when healthy as well. He needs to get healthy and consistency. No one doubts the talent level of Drouin.

69-73 points is where I would put them. They compete game in and game out, but still fall short. They're missing another high end defensemen and another skilled forward in the top six. Consistent goaltending has been an issue as well, but those are all things that will take time. -
Trade Suggestion: Johansen Traded to Preds for Seth Jones
Rasmus_ replied to wjag's topic in The Aud Club
I would assume that they would start with pick your poison: Ristolainen or Reinhart. It doesn't make a lot of sense to be honest. We're good on center's as is right now. It would only make sense if they're looking at quantity over quality. I for one am not ready to fork over a number one defensemen or Reinhart unless John Tavares is coming back. He's the worst coach in the league since Keenan and even then I might take Keenan. He's already ruined them. Calling out the veterans, alienating the young talent. Parading his in-house issues around with his goal post of a mouth. I'm so thankful he was not even brought in for an interview. Not to take into place the fact that in Vancouver he did not properly assess the talent base and coach with what he had. Instead he put in place an ancient NHL system that doesn't work with their roster construction and forced them to be one of the worst run teams in recent history. -
GDT: Washington @ Buffalo, 7:00 pm ET, 12/29/2015

But, the capital of Washington is Olympia. Ker plunk.... -
As long as he's healthy he's been productive. He's had 19 goal seasons before.

It was the Buffalo Sabres - St. Patricks Day hat. If you watch it tilt around it was a green Sabres hat.
