Colin Miller, Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson and a draft pick? Those would be the youngish type prospects/players I like. Zboril/Carlo are slightly interesting. Just tossing names around.

Question 1: Yes, better than Polak Question 2: Yes, better than Polak Question 3: Enter any team with a chance at the playoffs needing an around the net clanker with good locker room veteran instincts.

QFT! That was a great response!

You mellow as you get older. He was definitely a primadonna n his days in Pittsburgh and mainly in Washington. However, he's approachable and respectful of his place in the game. He's always been an amazing talent to watch.

Ryan O'Reilly lower-body injury; could be out "several weeks"
Rasmus_ replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
It's a really tough loss. The leader in the room. No offense to Gionta, but this is ROR's team at the moment. Time to step up Eich's. -
McGinn has been a nice throw-in to the O'Reilly trade, but he should be used for assets. Matt Moulson, Cody McCormick both came back. It isn't impossible. Signing him for 4x4 is ludicrous. Take the second round pick and get to June :)
-
He's starting to force the Ekblad scenario versus Stone and Gaudreau from last season IMO. He's honing in on Panarin fast. I loved watching him in the Frozen four when he was with Union a few seasons ago.

People are still butt hurt about losing the lottery. Which I get, I wanted McDavid, as most did. He is the real deal. Regardless of the injury concerns, he has all worldly speed and reads the open ice amazingly well. When the Oilers win the lottery this year, the NHL will finally stop this rouse and adopt something that stops a team from having a certain number of 1st overall picks within a year period.
-
Absolutely! Jamie, we're sorry we couldn't sign you to an extension that works for us. But, we'll try in free agency. Insert 2nd round pick, to get a healthy Jamie McGinn.

I'm tired of everyone else bashing him. So he overslept! I'm so glad Evander Kane is on my team! And Lehner not being worth a 1st, well I think I changed my mind just on that stare alone. $$$$$$$

Dude! That was awesome, the stare is amazing! Ugh the hit on Bogosian is not what this team needs. Prays for no concussion! :censored: That's his game, but he's acclimating to what he needs to do. Definitely a great thing. Welcome from down undah!

Exactly! It would be a giant **** show in Montreal if Subban was traded. I would say it's safer that they would trade Patches before him and Price.
-
Good pre-game write up! It will be interesting to see how Tort's gets his team motivated in the battle of stay at home in your basement teams. Go Sabres! Flu-like symptoms. In his post practice presser Bylsma stated he would travel and be ready for the game.

Good points. You're trading the: McGinn, Colaiacovo, Legwand, Johnson, Weber's, Moulson of the world first. With gauging interests on Foligno, Larsson, Franson.
-
The first one is what we should be looking for. I don't want to give up Larsson for a prospect in NJ not named: Quennville or Zacha.
-
+1: He's the type of player you build around. He doesn't complain either. Whether it's first through third line, center or winger he's a consummate pro. He's shown nothing but class and continues to work day in and day out. He's having a tough year in the stats, but I can not see this team without him. He plays well away from the puck and has skated well with Eichel. Do not trade him!
-
Ennis for Pokka, McNeil and a 2nd. Theodore would be a great fit in our top four both now and long term. The perfect type of young puck moving defensemen that can help you the rest of the way, or to just continue getting his reps in the A.

McKenzie speculates that Stamkos will end up in Buffalo
Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Montreal would have to clear quite a bit of cap to make a Stamkos hit happen. It makes sense from an offensive perception, but their cap crunch is already tight. -

Take it with a grain of salt until his agent/he himself says otherwise. Focus on things we can control, getting Ristolainen resigned long term is priority number 1. -
He's a good dependable stay at home presence. But really, he's not worth that.

GDT: Buffalo @ Philadelphia, 7:00 pm est, 2-11-2016
Rasmus_ replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
I like a bit about this post. I would disagree that the defense is the #1 priority. While the forward depth is a problem. Improving on depth will be much more important. McCabe, Pysyk and Bogosian are between 3-5 defensemen. Gorges could be traded and we need another horse on the PP and PK. Lulz! If the right team calls, you never know. I still think he nets an interesting prospect of Murray's choosing or a mid-tier second round pick. I don't think he warrants a 1st, as the only players that are rentals that can would/may be Stamkos. Pushing it would possibly be Boedker (But really not worth it.)- 370 replies

McKenzie speculates that Stamkos will end up in Buffalo
Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I love the structure for all of those contracts and I agree that getting Ristolainen paid now becomes a much easier case than next year. He's everything you want in our number one horse. Moving Moulson is the hardest number crunch on the roster. We're likely stuck with him, unless the right fit comes up. Weirder things have happened (I.e: Pronger, Grossmann for Gagner). -

Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Logistically if he were to choose a market to be closer to home, Buffalo makes complete sense. However, there are multiple holes now and long term for Murray to fill. I would not complain one moment about Stamkos coming to Buffalo, but at the same time allocating those funds to other areas is just as important. Mainly signing Ristolainen long term. -
I agree with that general line of thinking.

Personally, I'm still all about moving him for assets and then trying to retain him in the offseason. I like him and he's a positive veteran in the room. But, really it should be about getting value out of another dud of a season. He could help any number of teams with his play style. Someone will overpay if they're left out of the more prominent spending options.
