  1. Draft day! Finally. Getting my wings after work, and settling in. Ready to view all the craziness!
  2. If Perlini were to fall into the teens, I would pray to the Hockey Norse Gods to bring him to Buffalo. Aside from Reinhart and Draisaitl, he's my favorite prospect in the draft. Poile might have some interest in Stewart, but wouldn't it likely be from the center position? I could be completely wrong on that of course. I bet they most likely settle on McCann, Fiala or Fleury if he falls.
  3. Completely agree here. Ritchie is a nice player, but I would personally also take Perlini over him. He's a 8-11 type guy IMO (Ritchie).
  4. His size and scoring prowess marks him high in my books. He reminds me a bit of Buchnevich a later round pick of New York. A little bit bigger obviously, in the second round you cannot go wrong with that type of a player. However, if a guy like Schmaltz, Lemeiux, and a few others fall even slightly I prefer them to Kamenev. I would love Demko in the second round.
  5. The guys I would love to somehow trade back into the first round for: Perlini, Barbashev, Kempe, Milano. I wouldn't trade back into the first round for Demko. He could slip to the second round, unless someone is really in love with him.
  6. I agree, I loved every moment I spent up there for the week plus I was in the area. Womens world championships U-18, snooze...
  7. Well I think McNabb would fit their bottom pair with Martinez well. I doubt they bring both back in my opinion.
  8. Greene and Mitchell are both UFA's. Considering their recent injury troubles, I doubt either is brought back. Made sense for LA to target a young defensemen that fit their system. I highly doubt McNabb won't be in their bottom pairing next season with Martinez or someone else.
  9. It will be an interesting offseason. I would think Buffalo would have to show some "flash" to get a guy like Stastny to leave Colorado (who claim they want to retain him, but don't need to really?). He's the ideal guy to put on the top line while developing a center core. At 6.6M, his regular cap hit recently something in the 7M is not unreasonable. I love Dave Bolland though his questionable recent injury history bring up issues with him. Setoguchi? Not exactly someone appealing, but he might be able to come in cheap.
  10. Do you look at stats when making decisions to post. Columbus lived in the Pittsburgh series because of Bobrovsky.....Dallas has Lehtonen and Campbell coming up as well as Desrosiers. Teams that might have interest: Pittsburgh, San Jose, Vancouver, Edmonton (not that he'd go there), Washington, Calgary, Minnesota, Winnipeg.
  11. If that happens, talk about a steal. I have to say when he was drafted when Teravainen was still on the board, I questioned the selection. But, watching him game in game out, has changed my opinion.
  12. Adios, guy. Waiver claim, that really wasn't needed going forward. He's a fourth liner and can be replaced easily enough.
  13. This. We've moved on. I have more faith in Murray already. The other former GM no longer is here. :)
  14. I don't really agree on Draisaitl, he's a lock to go in the top 6 or 7. Not sure that he'll truly ever pass Reinhart or Bennett, unless a team prefers him outright due to his size. Someone between 4 and 6 most likely. Unless again there is a shocking turn of events.
  15. I completely agree, and think it is an obvious choice if they aren't loving the idea of Ekblad. The team has a number of intriguing defensemen on the door steps: Matheson, McCoshen (to name a few), as well as Pokka and others. They don't "need" Ekblad, but if he has a similar track record to Pietrangelo, I would be salivating. Especially infront of Luongo. If they don't love him I'm guessing they might have an affinity with Dal Colle, just my outside the box thought.
  16. It'd be a good fit for him. Makes them a really dangerous team. That kind of contract will limit them eventually with Granlund, Brodin and a few others. Granlund is starting to turn into the player he was projected to be last season.
  17. I'm looking forward to Neuvirth getting his chance for a full season. Time to move-on except in the right cases, see Ott/Moulson.
  18. They could still theoretically sign him. We'll see, but I believe they might just turn the page and go with Allen full time next year and get an experienced net minder next season like Tim Thomas.
  19. I agree, he didn't do much with the playing time that he was given. Not that it was a lot. But really, he's a completely replacable option (Conacher). D'Agostini was a fine piece IMO, but I don't care either way.
  20. There is nothing on this green earth that should allow us to keep Leino beyond this season. Beyond terrible.
  21. That's the best case scenario. One way or another the Islanders shouldn't be picking #2 overall with their current roster, I would assume somewhere between 6-10 at the best case scenario, but yes that would be quite the dream to hope for. With Tavares coming back and hopefully Wang/Snow (if still the GM come draft time) will likely get some sort of goalie help to upgrade over Nabakov/Nillson/Poulin this offseason. I would think Halak is a perfect misfit toy for them to pounce on. If they can lure Hiller, that would be a coup too.
  22. Or you take Bennett this year and Eichel next. Whatever happens happens. One way or another it's a different kind of excitement. Hopefully we can add some sort of a veteran presence that is a legitimate top 6 forward in the offseason.
