  1. Holy crap. I check the outcome as soon as I roll into the hotel in Jersey and see 6-1!!!! Sorry I had to miss this one...
  2. I like Jack’s response about finishing checks...I’m not knowledgeable enough about contracts to have an informed opinion, but it seems like I would structure a contract to reward playoff play...if these guys can make their money in 82 games...why play more?...pride? That’s a old fashioned thing...
  3. Redskin is pretty offensive...especially if they’re referring to your family members...there was this big attempt at genocide that was apparently only taught in my high school...?
  4. Had a black bean burger salad at Irish Mafia...perfect...giant juicy cheeseburger on top of an avocado salad...several Mighty Egos to wash it down...
  5. Well he’s having a whole damn weekend party in Bloomfield....I’m assuming it has something to do with the unofficial holiday. Once your fully out from under that rock I’ll buy you a beer...I won’t paint your ass green though...that’s for family to do...
  6. My mother’s side is Irish...grandma did the boiled dinner...and corned beef and cabbage.. My wife’s paternal family is 100%...the last name...the first names...my wife’s first name is Gaelic for Ireland. I’m pretty sure there’s a leprechaun or two in the bloodline. I do a corned beef round...waaay better than brisket or point....and I always do soda bread.... my wife is a Blue Jimmy fan and we’re five minutes away so we’ll do this too...
  7. I’ve been tripping my face off in the Adirondacks, under a mushroom.
  8. This is one of Shannon’s last performances...the song is about Susan Smith who strapped her two sons into their car seats and pushed them into a lake in South Carolina in the summer of ‘94. She claimed a black man stole her car with the kids in it but in reality, she killed them to pursue a relationship with a doctor that didn’t want children...these boys haunted Shannon’s thoughts to the point of writing this...it’s creepy and haunting...
  9. I looked at the benches to see the reactions after that fourth goal and see Thompson look over and point at Gilliam...he hesitated....Amerks are buzzing.
  10. They need to kill those bagpipes.....
  11. I bailed for the hot tub and took a look at what The Who what is it?
  12. I’m going to call Hutton...Carter Pipe...cuz he just got smoked...
  13. Yup. That’s why I have a really hard time with the fan angst here..
  14. Having grown up a QC fan I can understand why people would go there. Fan fatigue. I stuck with it through the bottom dwelling, the hometown hero signing, friggin Lindros....they turned it around on the ice after the Lindros haul, but it was never the same. The fans were fatigued. The Canadian dollar was taking a hit.....Aubut was looking for a Provincial bailout but the citizens weren’t about to subsidize millionaires, not in the state their lives were in...ironically I arrived in WNY in ‘95. I was an instant Amerk fan but tried liking the AVs....Couldn’t do it. I fell for the blue n gold... Love your team but don’t let it anger you to the point that you throw it away. It ain’t worth it.
  15. Awesome place to be...my paternal family is from Montreal circa 1720...tracked them all the way back to Normandy, France circa 1500. Emilie Tavernier Gamelin, the founder of Sisters of Providence, was the niece of my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather Antoine Tavernier... My last name in Montreal’s phone takes up quite a few pages...all from one man, Julien Tavernier Sans Petie...prolific little bugger... ....and yes, the famed traveler Jean Baptiste Tavernier is linked as well. He was the sibling of an even greater grandfather. Sorry. Can’t find my notes to look up his name. The nerd in me has the Montreal lineage memorized...
  16. I ate a boiled peanut for the first time today. It was the most disgusting thing that I’ve ever voluntarily put in my mouth.
  17. It’s a home weather station...being a good old Northern boy I wanted something functional that pointed toward the North...it has sort of become a hidden theme in a lot of my work around here...I plan on forging a replica of a king post complete with cables to carry the cantilever arm as a nod to my trade. The weather station would look bad ass on top of it(as well as being being even more accurate).... Nerd stuff for sure.
  18. Thanks man. I’ll probably just cut a check and settle with the funeral home...She’s been coming in my dreams... Her worst fears are being realized. I just want to put her soul to rest.
  19. Hot tub marathon....I’ve been in here for two hours and six beers...Greta Van Fleet jamming the bajesus out of my earbuds... That’s right....
  20. I’m disappointed more than anything...I’m one of five boys...smack dab in the middle....Out of five only two contributed to Dad’s costs. The same two are doing it again. It’s a big mess and due to unwise decisions these fools are in jeopardy of losing my parents house. It breaks my heart. I was named Dad’s executor and handled it like one should. Mom was so sick and died so soon afterwards that I just couldn’t upset her by asking her those details. I had to rely on the word of other kin. Heartbreaking.
  21. This is something I finished last week. The dog-legged wall went up three years ago. It retains a three foot elevation bust and transitions into a fenced in raised bed garden on the other side. I left the posts long because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to finish it. I added a cantilever arm to two of the posts to carry a hammock chair. I finally got the inspiration for the other three a little while ago and spent a sunny winters day last week building the arbor top. The have additional plans for the cantilever arm but I need to finish the forge before I can complete it. Oh and that conduit sticking up is getting a gfci circuit this summer.
  22. I instruct Ironworker apprentices in the ways of the Iron. The classroom is full of giggles in their first year every time I mention erections....they eventually get over it.
  23. What are you cladding it with? How are you transitioning the window sill into the bench? Looks good. I like the asymmetry. If I could offer some advice, I’d add some more vertical members if I planned to sit on it much. I’d also add a diagonal brace from from side to back to stiffen it a bit for weight bearing. I would also either cut a few chamfers for that beveled side or bevel the vertical members that are there to provide an easier target for attaching your cladding. The important thing though is....how much did you enjoy yourself? ??
  24. I’m hoping one of our lawyer friends on here can point me in the direction I need to look on a matter. How can I find out who wrote a will for my mother? The brother that took her to get it written “can’t remember” the lawyer’s name and “can’t find” her will. He’s been living in her house for free since she passed and left me and another brother with all of the final expenses.... I’m 99.9999% certain that she named me her executor(we had a conversation about it at one point)but not much I can do with out the will.
