  1. I’m still in monsoon season so when I read the title I thought “sucked thread”, WTF does that mean? I got it soon enough but was left wondering if this damn thing isn’t going to “suck thread” for years to come?
  2. I planted these tomato plants today. My great room is south facing with lots of glass. Natural greenhouse. Some of them already have tomatoes.
  3. Sounds reasonable. I tore my MCL and was back climbing iron at a similar time frame. I’m a working grunt though vs a multi millionaire hockey player so I’m assuming he’s getting a little extra time to be at 100%...we grunts get tossed back out there like fodder....we don’t have the same value.
  4. I’ve been inspired to share by @PASabreFan‘s aborvitae saga...not nearly as cool but to someone who has never seen a rabbit’s nest...I’ve had one of these before that didn’t have a happy ending. These guys were in my strawberry garden. Baby rabbits get left in the nest all day until the mother returns at night to nurse. Two days after this they were gone and the nest filled in. No dead bodies like the last time. I’m having faith that they survived. Next comes the Cooper’s hawk and all the foxes we have around here.
  5. Years ago I paddled my kayak a little too close to a nesting osprey on Little Tupper Lake. We had quite a duel. I think I got close enough with my paddle on the fourth dive bomb to call a truce. Memorable day.
  6. Thank God indeed. How many people disregard symptoms and end up at the worst case scenario? You’re a smart man. Well....except for the comments to the wife. Good luck man.

Regular ole third degree burn. As I said, I didn’t go deep enough with mine. It’s like that quote from that very famous duck “I don’t like pain, it hurts me.”

While we’re discussing scars...anyone have any branding? My 30 year old piece is barely distinguishable. I didn’t go deep enough. I do have a lot of welding burn scars that are deep enough though, especially on my neck where they get caught up in my PPE. That ***** hurts. Molten iron trapped against bare skin. TRAPPED! There’s nothing that announces to the world “I’m a working man” like a neck full of crater scars...not sure how I feel about that now that I think about it.

Don’t you dare cover those up my friend. Have you forgotten how arduous they were to acquire?

I’ll definitely check out her shop. This piece I want covered was done 27 years ago and was done poorly because I was in a rush....so I’m in no rush. I’ve lived a hard knock/storied life and I’m really looking for someone that is willing to listen to my story and bring my expectations in line with reality. That ***** is annoying. Don’t tell me how bad ass you are. Show me you little bitch.
  11. For some reason when I first read this I immediately thought of the whiskey rebellion. I think it was because Hayseed seems like a moonshiner’s name. You’re true intention eventually trickled in.
  12. It is playing for one more week at the Aud in Rochester.

I just happen to be working out in that direction. I think I’ll pop in there and see what’s going on.

Anyone in the area that you’d suggest? I’ve got a bad one that needs to be covered over and tied into the others somehow. I have ideas but I need some that can help with the design.
  15. She an important cog in the wheel at the theater and keeps getting drawn away for this or that. Other than being a fantastically awesome show, Hamilton has been a royal PITA.
  16. I saw Hamilton yesterday with my wife. We had to disguise her so she could actually sit there and watch the show like a regular patron. I’ve seen every Broadway show that’s come through the past ten years and I can always find something to nitpick. Lighting, audio, performances, etc. This one had me hook/line/sinker. It sucked me right in and I absolutely loved it.
  17. I took this pic last Sunday up by my fruiting trees. I grew up on venison but haven’t hunted in a long time. This SOB has been raising hell with my young orchard and it’s getting personal.
  18. I can understand your grief. There is a great deal of loss here. Take heart my friend. Many have gone through this. It will get better. There is a great deal of happiness out there for those that seek it out.
  19. No one embellishes or dives like the Bruins.
  20. I almost think I’d rather stab my ear drums out than listen to Doc call a game.… almost....
  21. I have a feeling we’ll get a two-fer this year. Carolina with the Stanley and Charlotte with the Calder...
  22. The first thing I noticed was the lack of counterweights in the wreckage. I assume that the other crane that is shown in some photos had already removed them. Those two Ironworkers where probably in the boom waiting for the crane to swing back for the next pick. When the tower topples and impacts the roofline, the operators cabin separates from the tower at the slewing ring. The boom sections separate and hit the street. They cut a segment that originally showed a man sized object flung toward the street as the sections separate. They would have been near the operator’s cabin for the next move. The They would have been heading their ***** down that ladder if they had a sense of what was to happen....and they may have as it the wind picked up, especially without the counterweights in place. Enough time to realize what the results would be....awful.
  23. I’m glad you’re so stoked. I’m also sorry it didn’t work out for you. I could use that same gif to show how happy I am with owning a home. Two beers for you!
  24. This crane collapse in Seattle has me on edge. I’ve been present for four crane disasters in which no one died. Two of my Union brothers perished in this one. I know where they would be in that dismantling process. The national news is cutting out the part where at least one of them flies out. These machines are far more dangerous than the general public realizes. I lurked on the site for quite a long while before I ever posted anything. It was in the Thursday complaint thread shortly after the crane we had at College Town at the U of R collapsed. The lufting jib ripped off the main boom with a 66,000 lb precast double tee on the hook. They’d been flying those things right over our heads for a month. Thank God no one was killed.
  25. I’m not sure what to make of this. Olly 30g, Smith 28g, Redmond 21, o’Regan 20, Simpson 21 and if Thompson would have been there longer we would have surely had at least 20 with the pace he was scoring at. That’s five players with 20 or more goals (with a probable 6). That broke an Amerks record. We didn’t lack scorers.
