  1. How many of you Rochesterians knew that this was going on walking distance from the train station and the Genesee Brewhouse? High Falls is a treasure that should be celebrated. Driving Park should be celebrated. The most beautiful parts of Rochester are suffering from the disease of poverty. It’s a shame that our society rejects the reforms to health care and mental illness. The rich keep gittin it...and the poor keep trying..and society suffers while all the while. I have so many stories that you would grow numb reading them.
  2. Yep. On St. Paul just before the bridge on the right is the old high falls overlook that has been over run with a shanty made of random junk where the heroin addicts live. They’ve destroyed the park with garbage and human waste so I ask the cops why don’t they arrest them. The reply was “they are the bad ones. By the time they end up there they’ll be dead from OD in a couple weeks...”. They don’t even bother with them until they’re a dead body. How ***** up is that?
  3. I spent over a year doing bridge repairs in the drug gateway of Rochester. The safety guy did a sweep for used needles inside our fenced in area every morning. I became good friends with the cops in that neighborhood and learned a lot about the predatory pan handlers that are those cops biggest scourge. Crumbing is when someone walks up and down the sidewalk looking for used needles and empty baggies that may have a few crumbs of heroin left in them.
  4. Syracuse made it one game farther than Rochester to be fair.
  5. I did have one unsettling encounter on Joseph St under the railroad bridge. This little scrawny dude with a bad limp came up all wound up about something I didn’t even understand. Big baggy pants and he showed me the handle of a gun he had there. I just turned and walked as calmly as I could into the fencing and behind the lead abatement trailer. I got low and could see his feet walking away...Crumbers everywhere...Up and down that damn sidewalk crumbing like a mofo!
  6. I’m not sure if this makes me an ***** or not.... I gave a tall boy of Labatt Ice to the dude with the sign on the corner again. Different guy/same corner. The previous dude was happy and giggled. This new guy readily took it but was quick to tell me that he only drinks sometimes and that most people think he’s out there because he’s an alcoholic. I assume if he didn’t want to drink it then it was at least a commodity to him. Very interesting. I like these interactions. I’ll give almost every time but I always make them promise they won’t use it for drugs. They always swear they won’t. I always hope that the act of making a promise to someone that’s being sincere will give them an ounce more of courage to kick. That’s where the experiment ends though. I’m assuming I’ve had little impact so I’m a regular donator to the Open Door Mission. Our Union Hall has a collection box to help these poor bastards back onto their feet. I’ve also realized that there are bad people preying on developmentally challenged people. They sit in a wheelchair like they’re crippled but stand up when no one is looking to count the huge wad of money they’ve amassed. The rest are running the money back to him. I’m close with the RPD when I’m working in certain neighborhoods. St. Paul/Clinton/Joseph’s...couple blocks from Ave D...they know but what can you do with people that insist they’re not being abused? Anyways. I’m not disparaging the people that live in that area. I’d like to say that they treated us with respect but.....they went way beyond that. They decorated our job site fencing and left welcome mats. Coming down to thank us. A lot of people broke in and stole but the good peeps there wanted to make it right. Then. The Amerks farted on them. Thanks for hangin in there.
  7. Taylor had the look of a man that was worried about his current coaching job let alone looking for a bigger role in his post game interview. Taylor- “winning is hard”.... ***** you man. And blaming Sexton is weak sauce.
  8. I want to blame a lot of things. Goaltending was a huge issue all year. Wedgewood didn’t even wear an Amerks themed helmet until well into the season so I can’t trust that he even wanted to be here. Really the biggest issue for me was calling guys up for no reason. They “earned it”? That’s crap. You have a team that’s winning then you keep them together. What good did it do Pilut to sit in the press box in Buffalo? He came back to Rochester a shell of the player he was. I’m really starting to question Taylor’s decision making. This kid Kurt Gosselin, even though he played well, had 5 games with the team before the playoffs. WTF? Spend all year growing chemistry and shake it all up when everyone else is tightening the chemistry for their playoff runs. Huge disappointment.
  9. We Amerks fan may also call this “The Great Call Up Fiasco”...
  10. Taylor is not the coach you are looking for....
  11. It’s easy. You take your hot players and send them to a flailing parent team to learn bad habits and the quickest path to failure... Mouth farts for everyone....
  12. My work has hit the monsoon season. I’m spread like too little butter on too much bread. Life degrades with life long monotony and arduous tasks. I’d like to give these kids an awareness lesson on squandering talent. They’ve broken my heart in that arena too many times now to watch on tv tomorrow. They’ll probably win both games in Toronto only to return to break our hearts again at home..... any season ticket holder will know what I’m talking about. It’s been happening since the break...
  13. You’re feelings betray you. I made absolutely no mention of any particular players performance in today’s game. You’re quoting comments from Friday’s game my friend.
  14. Taylor is not the coach you are looking for...
  15. Total BS they call goaltender interference on Thompson earlier and not on Toronto on the OT goal. Where were all these guys that everyone has pining over? I took all kinds of grief for calling it like it is. If you were really a winner then you would have friggin won.
  16. Get that shiit like they ain’t no tomorrow.
  17. My truck blew a brake line on the front left wheel a few miles from my house on my way home from the job tonight. I’m very rural and had five stops that could easily be coast through. One complete stop, smoke bellowing from the burning brake fluid. Thankfully I live on the top of the hill because there was no fluid left to slow for the driveway. I hope @MODO Hockey wasn’t so angry at my Olofsson comments that he’d fly from Sweden to sabotage my brakes. I’m sorry dude.?
  18. I’m not sure if you were there and saw it but Borgen had an encounter behind the net where for a second I thought he was losing his mind and was going to shake the guy to death. He finally stopped and looked over his shoulder at the ref. That kid gets fired up.
  19. You’ve seen plenty of this leagues playoff games. The refs let the rough stuff go so you need to be the tougher of the two. It’s really a sad state when Kevin friggin Porter had the only fight.
  20. Dude. I’m not treating Olly like trash. I’m severely disappointed with his performance in what should be, to this date, the most important game of his friggin life! Ahl playoffs are brutal. You can’t miss a single opportunity to shove someone around and both Olly and Pilut shied away from it. Our local news had a great clip of a scrum with Tenny, O’Regan and I forget the other one in the battle. Olly comes coasting into the frame last with an arm around a guy. No words or aggression. I don’t know what it was with him because he even whiffed on a one timer at an open net. It was an embarrassment to get whooped like that at home. I’m hoping Taylor rips all those guys that didn’t at least match Toronto’s physical play. If they can’t do that then there’s no way they’re going to win.
  21. I was praising his performance when it was good. I’m critical when it is not. I’ve seen the kid all year. He’s been taking shifts off the last quarter of the season has been one of the things that contributed to the teams slide in the standings. I don’t appreciate the “bs pouring out of my mouth” comment. Completely unnecessary and childish IMO. I was the one in that group you saw the game with in Rochester that provided everyone with a free ticket. My wife pulled some strings to help facilitate the meeting with Linus. I treated you with class.
  22. You have to fight every second of every game. Skill makes way for brute strength in the playoffs. Even Kevin friggin Porter was throwing hit after hit. Thompson was finally getting rough with people. It was good to see. If he does that on a regular basis he will be a beast of a player. After the first the Marlies were the more physical team and they were rewarded with a win.
  23. You’re acting like a child. If you don’t agree with me then express it with more class. I expect more from you.
  24. The fans were frothing at mouth even before they took the ice and all those poor folks got were goalposts and mouth farts. Pilut and Olofsson are anti contact. They’ll never be Cup winners. They have zero heart. Borgen, on the other hand, has an inner a-hole mentality that needs to be nurtured.
