  1. No one is beating the Pats this year.
  2. I haven’t owned sweatpants since high school, for a reason unbeknownst to me, some 30 yrs ago. I Primed myself a pair and am wearing them for the first time today. GD I am comfortable! I may just switch over my entire wardrobe
  3. I agree about Nelson...CJ scored a nice backhand top shelf vs Marlies last night.
  4. Am I the only one who prefers a blank sweater?
  5. He has had a full NA pro season. Successful! He did fade a bit toward the end but I have no doubt he will more than ready for the grind. Giddy up, kid!
  6. Life sucks most of the time...tonight is not one of those times.
  7. I’m so sorry that you guys have lost those special friends. It’s a hard thing. I lost my Dad three years ago today. He was one of those larger than life types. Quick with wit and loved by everyone he ever met. He was a hard nose tough parent. He dragged himself up and expected us to do the same. I hated him in my teen years but he was right. That is the best path to take. He went into the hospital after my mother had been there for a week. She was going into ICU to have her colon removed as he was being moved from ICU to a regular room. They saw each other for a bit before she went in. “There’s my beautiful baby!” was his greeting for her. He passed away the next morning broken hearted that his “beautiful baby” didn’t have much time left herself. I miss you, man. You were da bomb....and now you are the light. God bless you, Dad.
  8. This fills me with sadness. She is not only extremely beautiful, she is kind hearted. She also knew what a tuque is......
  9. 3 and 0hhhhhhhh my God that was close!
  10. The most entertaining part of that empty netter was the camera shot of the crowd with all those Leafs fans making a hasty retreat.
  11. What brews did you have at the Mafia @LTS? That one looks like Mighty Ego. Absolutely delicious!
  12. They are not mailing season tickets this year?? WTH? Now I have to make a special trip to go get them? That’s lame. After the last two playoffs you’d think they’d kiss our ass a little.
  13. Because Josh isn’t a Manning.
  14. You must be looking in the mailbox.
  15. Well....my life is a horror story....so.....
  16. Friggin Friday the 13th.....I was wounded and bleeding by 8 am....
  17. I’m not certain how sporting venues handle things but in any venue dealing with promoters this is pretty standard practice. These things are usually a promoter/box office manager decision.
  18. The new semester is starting, regular meetings have resumed, work is busy with too much OT, harvest season is upon me and I haven’t even made an appointment with PT to deal with my arthritic neck yet. Too much, man. The work itself is grueling enough. The two late nights teaching each week are exhausting although rewarding. The office work is mindless and time consuming. I dread the thought of it but I believe that the check to power of my office is vital to preventing corruption within our ranks. I don’t trust anyone else to take it with the same fervor as I do. Giant ***** pita though....Eight. More. Friggin. Years.
  19. I’m glad you’re all hooked up. My wife and I were doing a game and a downtown hotel on the NY eve but those dweebs in their tuxes that sat next to us last time scared me off from those games. Usually it’s always a good time though and the Hyatt is a more than reasonable walk. We took the metro one time and met these piss drunk Sabres fans from Ontario. They were awesome. Hope you guys have a good time.
  20. I can understand why people feel reluctant to talk about this. The images from that day are obscene. Even us Ironworkers were shaken. Several from my local were compelled, leaving by noon that day to help. Several of my IW friends from the NYC locals were there soon after they fell. An old retired local 40 IW showed up and started barking orders and people just started doing it. Most folks are not presented with catastrophe as a daily omnipresence. For the first time we as an organization realized the innocence lost that day. When a group of Ironworkers sit down and cry together, there has surely been an awful happening. We still talk about it though. Contrary to folk lore, we have emotions. There was a huge group of IWs that worked on the pile and there are a lot of emotions that need tending to even to this day. Our organization trains instructors on the DOL Disaster Site training program developed afterwards. It’s focus is a comprehensive approach to the chain of command to expect if you’ve decided to respond. It does an excellent job creating scenarios that will really make you think if you would even want to volunteer. I am grateful to be able to be instruct this course in the event that the need arises in my city. We shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about this in a reasonable context. Those comments about conspiracy do nothing more than taint the memory of those that died and those who helped but suffer yet. If there is anything political that I couldn’t feel more comfortable receiving the ban hammer for, I would shame any politician that doesn’t(or didn’t) support the first responders bill. Shame on you. These people have endured years of suffering for their heroism. Shame. On. You! I apologize for my candidness.
