  1. It was good to be back in my seat. That was a long wait. The action started as soon as I parked. I use a free space on Irving and walk acrost the pay lot to Exchange to cross Broad. This little red berry came flying and landed next to me. I look up from the berry on the ground and see this young dirty dude standing on the other side of the shrub hedge is looking at me. Obviously he plucked it off the bush and tossed it at me. This irritates me and I turn to approach him. He says “Augh man, did that hit you?” I say “That wasn’t very nice.” He says “I know. I saw you looking at me with your killer eyes.” He was obviously a very mentally ill and very high vagrant. He told me he lived “here” but “maybe he should get a house?” I encouraged his idea but told him he needed to quit the dope first. He says “Man if I could do that then you’d see me in the newspaper!” Gave him a big ole thumbs up. I had an eerie feeling the entire time that I was talking to a ghost. Maybe he was. No one else at the intersection (including the cop) even looked at him. Maybe that’s why he tossed that berry at me.
  2. The people that bitch about Taylor and the teams failure in the last few positive seasons don’t realize what’s going on in the A. That includes a few Amerks fans that I know. Luckily with the new mandates I doubt that I’ll run into those dummies. My ass in my seat next Friday buddy! Do I give a rat’s ass about anything else besides how my ass feels in that seat? One guess.
  3. I wish I could share your enthusiasm for what’s to come this year but….. as a sth you don’t go in expecting success. You would have been entertained one way or the other. Amerks at BCA is always a good time. 😉
  4. I’ve been smashed into the ground enough times to know how to break a rib.
  5. What an experience. We got him home last Saturday. All physical attributes are intact but the poor man’s short term memory and reasoning are impaired. No idea to what degree, time tells us that. My MIL doesn’t drive so the iT’s lives are hectic. The doctor visit trips are welcome but my MIL has a daily grocery store habit that is out of control. Make a list for the week! The MRI showed that he had a prior episode that also left damage. Explains a lot of really bizarre behavior over the last six months. I feel bad now for getting annoyed with him. He really is a good man. I wish he’d have taken his health more seriously.
  6. Thank you. Someone up there is obviously listening to you.
  7. My FIL had a stroke yesterday. He’s at Strong yet. Sucks that there’s only one visitor per day because that one is my MIL so getting accurate info is nearly impossible. Mrs. iT is trying to get herself on his hippa so we can have some friggin idea what’s going on. It appears there’s a fear of cognitive problems. Less severe than my father’s stroke but he seems to be having the same problem falling asleep in the middle of conversations. We live through the woods from the in laws and are their primary helpers. You know these times are coming and suddenly they’re here. Roll up your sleeves Ogre.
  8. I’ve only been in WNY since ‘96. I wasn’t really in a position to attend games until ‘98ish so I don’t know the old days. I’ve had seasons for eight years now and I’ll keep renewing because I have a lot of fun. I know many other season holders and they’re nice people and with Mr. iT being in the biz that she is I know all sorts of staff. I sit same row opposite isle as Flag Guy. He’s a very sweet man. There’s also a man with certain disabilities that comes with his brother and sits in the adjacent section that I am highly entertained by. Sometimes I glance down his way and he is head forward, leaning way out just staring at me. I completely understand. I have a peculiar look. When he sees that I see him seeing me he puts his hand beside his face like a wall. “I wasn’t staring at you…” Make me and his brother both laugh every time. As for the old days? Meh. Super stoked for live hockey.
  9. The decision has been made. Every single time someone speaks to me tomorrow this is my response.
  10. You paid yourself for a tomato? If I can’t find a tomato to fit the bread with one slice then I size the bread to the tomato I do have. A single sliding slice can ruin the entire experience.
  11. We had a picnic last weekend to celebrate our graduating apprentices. It drew a big crowd with many retirees. Caveman is my age and on disability retirement. His back and neck are shot. He was recklessly prescribed opioids as treatment over the years and is ridiculously dependent and always was a heavy drinker. As expected Caveman was F’d up. For a minute I thought he was trying to dance with me. From a distance he must have appeared to be scaring off a bear but when you noticed his feet, well they were make far too elaborate moves to be bear scaring. I paint this scene with a stroke of humor but it is a sad tale. Don’t get me wrong. Getting all F’d up with your bros, friends, family, anybody is a great time! But to be that screwed all by yourself at 5pm is wacky and very annoying.
  12. Weak sauce. The Bills stomped your boy LJ and his team in that playoff run. Bills are so deep you can’t even see the bottom.
  13. HO couldn’t even support an AHL team.
  14. Mrs. iT and I have been glued to the Paralympics. All of these people are unbelievable and so freaking inspiring!
  15. Yep. This job market readjustment and labor shortage have been predicted for years. The loss of the baby boomers and a shrinking birth rate were the initial predicted causes but the pandemic brought it on sooner IMO. What older workers weren’t lost decided retirement was the way to go. Opened up a whole new opportunity for a younger worker. Same result for middle aged workers who were lost. That job they held opened a door for someone looking for something better. Our contractors even added a significant raise for apprentices in our recently bargained CBA. If you want good people now you have pay them! Workers are becoming savvy as well. Why would I go to work for you for a one time sign on bonus when you can pay me that much more per hour and make this a permanent thing? My FIL’s first cousin owns a restaurant and laments the loss of his head cook to an entirely new career. He now works nice hours doing nice work that pays well and isn’t in a balls hot greasy ass kitchen. Somehow he blames unemployment for this guy not wanting his crappy job back. Guess you shouldn’t have layed him off and gave him an opportunity to find something better. Guess if unemployment didn’t exist then he’d have been so desperate that he’d have to do anything for you.
  16. And man, that flavor awful. Just awful.
  17. And in the paragraph right before the one you quoted she says this "Information on the Delta variant from several states and other countries indicates that, on rare occasions, some vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others," Walensky said during a press call on Tuesday. "This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendations." She is saying “some” vaccinated people. Not ALL of them. “On rare occasions “
  18. There’s only one thing I “hold holy” and it’s only when I’m alone and it’s NONE of your business!
  19. W. T. F. are you blathering about?
  20. That the unvaccinated are driving the variants? In particular the Delta variant? Show me proof that the CDC director said that the vaccinated people in India were the generators of Delta. Do you need to make a call to GetGo to ask the higher ups? It is really flavorless that you insinuate no one besides you understands science. Give it some salt man! All lips. No teeth.
