  1. I’ve always thought of it as more like a doorbell. If you ring it enough times, they might just let you in.
  2. Eventually the feeling of nostalgia will over take you and you’ll fly everyone out for a garbage plate. Only then will they understand.
  3. I got there around 6 and was craving a plate. That very guy in your pic told me they weren’t doing them because of a grill issue. I settled for fingers and fries. WTF? I’ve only watched a handful of games on TV. Stevens makes it unbearable for me. He is a pumpkin head in more ways than one.
  4. You’re too young for the worst of the consequences to catch up to you but you’re a doctor so you know that. Bad habits die hard but they do die with the required effort, or, you die. In that vein… A few of use went to the Bills bar (can’t remember the name) south of Midtown Manhattan for the game Monday and walked 8th Ave back toward our hotel afterwards. (We were on 6th in Midtown but the drunkies wanted different scenery.) Those folks begging for a couple bucks to give to the dude in the bright red track suit (definitely not Santa) for a bag of crumbs was heartbreaking. I almost approached the bastard to tell him was a snot ball I thought he was but I was tending two drunk Ironworker officers who were NOT behaving as it was.
  5. I think dilligaf was the plan going into the season. It could even be the real reason Linus walked? Do any of you think these billionaires owners give a rats ass what we think? They probably get reports of these message board conversations for giggles and laugh their balls off at us while they’re out on the golf course.
  6. That’s always a good plan. Those people tend to live longer, better lives.
  7. I hope that none of you are getting your hopes up about this game happening. Or Friday’s for that matter.
  8. I got a steal of a deal on tires on Walmart.com for my truck. 18” Goodyear Wrangler all terrain for $174/tire. I was worried about the install but figured tires are easy right? Close to an hour after they started I got a phone call from the auto department. “They got all your tires off but one. What do you want us to do?” I was wandering around the store so I headed right back. After a brief explanation that my glasses were Z87 they let me into the tire shop. The kid points to the one rear tire “See?” I climb up onto the truck to fetch my 8 lbs beater, “You shouldn’t be climbing up there…” I had the hammer and was down before he could finish. I ask “Mind if a take a few swings at it?” ”Go ahead” he says with confidence. Boom! on top of the tire. Boom! on side of the tire. The Boom! on the bottom of the tire resulted in it falling right off. He slouched into an emasculated pose. I felt badly for him. “Dude, I’ve been an Ironworker for the last 30 years. There’s no such thing as can’t.” He was unresponsive so I left his shop and left him to his work.
  9. Absolutely. I’m not sure if you still have my number so I’ll PM with it. Beers on me.
  10. I’ll file this under “Things you miss on tv.” My buddy and I had a bizarre conversation with a drunken girl from RIT in the concourse at intermission. Something about her roommate’s cousin is Brayden Holtby. The other girls were shaking their heads no behind her back but she was too hammered. Then in the third they had her and her whole crew on the jumbo. She slammed her beer and smashed the can on her head. My kind of girl.
  11. She does ok. Doesn’t interact with fans unless it’s part of the job and her voice drives me bananas. She certainly is no Erica Whyte. She talked with the kids and stopped to say hi to the developmentally challenged adults. Too bad she’s gone.
  12. If you loved the Adirondacks enough you would live in Malone, NY. That is the better side of the park and you’re an hour away from a major city(Montreal). The more I think about it the more I agree with @inkman.
  13. Sounds like a giant serving of awesome sauce to me.
  14. I’m glad for this kid. He has really developed his game. He has seemed reluctant to use his giant body as a tool to strike fear but I think he was working so hard at hockey skills. I’m not sure how much post whistle action gets shown on AHLtv but there was a scrum on Friday night that shined a light on his aggressive side. He pinned the Monster to the ice and was cussing the guy out when he got up. He was smart enough not to drop the gloves but I could clearly see him say “let’s go”. The Monster was in no way agreeing. If he can keep up the hockey and mix in some of that then he’ll do well.
  15. To be fair, that second goal was god awful and should never have happened. Without that goal we would have tied the game and the EN wouldn’t have happened either. We did dominate though and the officiating was garbage. Wtf call a penalty on a team down by 2 with 20 seconds left? Friggin nerd. Just let the fing game end.
  16. Could be a good excuse for @Weaveto drag his arse out.
  17. I had mine on Wednesday and had a similar reaction. Fever/chills/fatigue that night and the next day it was a sore throat and I was in a complete fog. Somehow I dragged my ass through a 10 hour day. I laughed so hard that a little of my tequila and water came out of my nose.
  18. I’m afraid to see what this team would be without him in goal. Out shot 35-22? Oof! Save that ***** for the road games boys.
  19. I was expecting worse from him. He seems to get lost when the puck goes behind him but did well when he could square up and be big. That short handed goal shouldn’t have happened. When the extra guy came to the point to put on pressure someone should have came with him. It was obvious that Fitzgerald was going to fight someone at some point. The crowd seemed to like the action. The next matchup with these guys should be entertaining as well.
  20. The arena looked good. Bathrooms are new and nice. New sound. Still have the live band and $2 genny draft pregame. I friggin destroyed a puck plate and had a Genny even though I haven’t had a beer in months. (Plenty of tequila though) Concessions seemed just fine. I ran into a very close friend I haven’t seen in a while so we sat with them. As suspected the season holders in my row had some drop outs (I’m hoping they’re well and just protesting) which messes my plan up a little. Mrs. iT helps out selling tickets when she can and can come up after she’s done so I found a row with all season ticket holders except for two on the end and just bought the aisle seat. That left an almost unsellable seat available for my wife when she was done downstairs. It was a good run. I’ll call my rep on Monday and scoop up that seat. That means I’ll have an extra ticket here and there. I’ll let this thread know if that happens as there is availability. If these guys can entertain like they did tonight then that place is going to fill up.
