Barring a trade Joker gets sent down. Yes he is playing well. Yes he is better than others on the right side. But he is still a young prospect with a bright future. You want him playing top minutes in all situations as opposed to sitting in the press box. Gilmore is well suited for that. Injuries will happen and he will be back. Marco is gone at the tdl no matter what as he is an expiring ufa with value. Pilut keeps Joker company waiting for the call. Not optimal, but better than selling low on players now just to alleviate the logjam. jmho.

I went with Jetspeeds over the tacks and swapped the CCM holders with Tuuks. The CCM holders felt too narrow under my foot and I popped the the rivets every two or three times out. (6'7' 265) I was fortunate enough to have friends who do the blade work with the Hawks hook me up and do an analysis of angle and COM. They gave me some suggestions on profile that were spot on. More efficient and better overall balance especially in transition from straight line to lateral to backwards. They also recommended a custom blade from a Japanese steel company known for their golf clubs but I declined the $600 up charge. This stuff is real. I then went and had a local ski shop do some work on my sticks to get the edges where I wanted them and that made a huge difference. If you really get into this stuff there will be people like me willing to pay for better performance out of the already high priced gear. Good Luck.

I completely agree with your premise. It is even more unsettling that Vlad remains on the roster. Kyle could actually fill Vlad's role with Skinner and Mojo as well or better than Vlad. However, Vlad has no useful purpose outside of hoping he becomes something he has not done in his career: be a contributing top 6 player. If somehow RK can get Bobblehead to see that Vlad is not helping and swallow his pride and waive him, we would have enough space to bring up a Smith or Lazar to play with Larry and Gus. But I think this issue is less Kyle today than Vlad. Next year Kyle will be the only real albatross contract left and as we saw with Marleau, you can find a way to purge bad contracts.

Vesey is slow. He can't keep up with Mitts and Sheary. On the PK he can't close the gap like Girgs and Larry do which leads to extended D zone time. He also turns his back to the defenseman on the wall and gets pushed off the puck or loses possession when they pinch. He and Vlad are negatives due to the fact that do not bring anything positive to those they play with. It is almost like playing shorthanded.

There was no merit whatsoever in the trade when it happened and the Sabres are still trying to recover from it and its aftermath. I do think a new coach trying a new guy at a key position may try to make that transition as tenable as possible. Whistling by the graveyard? Maybe, but I can see at least some rationale for the move.

I wish he was never in camp, but I think that he is a binky for Marcus. The guy hasn’t played center in five or so years and probably welcomes a veteran presence so he doesn’t have to worry about covering for him. Positionally Vlad is sound. Got that hurts to type. As Marcus gets more comfortable RK will have more options with line combos.
