  1. Having read the books... yup, I'll give this a shot. I do like that they're going to lean into all of the main 5 kids being capital-M Main characters from the get-go. This is opposed to what happened in the '80s where fantasy (D&D, B-level sword/sorcery movies, Tolkien) was marketed predominantly at boys and therefore its only the boys who are viewed as Main characters in the first few books. But by the end, all 5 of them were clearly ta'veren and the TV show will be able to promote them as such. That's the right move.
  2. Similarities: They're both Terran humanoids. So... that's nice. Differences: How honorable is Granato that he didn't just rip Krueger's arms out of his sockets?
  3. The Concept of Ehrhoff Moulson is with you, young Sabres. But you are not a good team... yet. (Now... if the goaltending stays above average and the scoring remains balanced and consistent... then yes, this will be a good team.)
  4. I really hope they're able to bring this effort night-in and -out on the road trip. I'd be quite happy to see them dash the Kraken fans' dreams in person when they realize they aren't Vegas and that the "worst team in the league" outclasses them. That'd be really nice.
  5. Good game, gents! (Down the line: good game, good game, good game) Force 'em play Vasilevskiy against us next time.
  6. HEY! Dunleavy stole my line!
  7. Now find Stamkos next time he's on the ice and let him know there's more where this came from.
  8. Doesn't matter if Dahlin assisted. You go finish Colton anyway. Just think if this were Hasek. That entire team would be on the opponent. Goalofsson! And very nice charity assist by Asplund.
  9. Ok --- so... now once we go up 5-1 with another empty-netter... then go pummel Stamkos.
  10. Hagger the Horrible!
  11. Caggiula to the Cage!
  12. Aiming for the glove.
  13. The hate was flowing well.
  14. Bank 'em off the goalie... perfect rebound!
  15. The best way to defeat the Concept of Ehrhoff Moulson Lightning is to use a lightsabre to deflect it back upon itself. Tonight, we need to bounce the pucks in off Vasilevskiy Elliott and other defenders from various angles. Even from behind the net. Edit: Elliott. Also -- Colin Miller is our leading scorer? huh.
  16. I am the mighty. They are the mighties. I am the rainbow. Goo goo ga... bluuuulaaaahhhaagh
  17. So be it. And if that's the case (although he's shown some tenacity in the past here and there) then his teammates need to address it. If Marchand is crosschecking your teammate and running him at each opportunity... then you take care of it. Sadly, no one did. It's teamwide contempt for anyone messing with anyone that is still lacking on this team.
  18. It is all a super-small sample size thus far. But... why Bailey as the example? He's a 7-year AHL veteran who's played NHL games every season and his last full AHL season he was nearly a p/g player. That's not really a comparison for a someone who has skated less than a 1/4 season in the AHL last year plus 3 games this year. Unless you mean Bailey's rookie Amerks season where he had a tidy 20-25-45 in 70 games and had us all excited for him to add scoring in the bottom six. Quinn has a shot and 200-foot game that Bailey did not possess at the same age.
  19. It's been what... 15 years? Since the lockout?
  20. On the contrary, I think the Sabres' performance is repeatable and can improve. Boston played playoff-level hockey tonight in their 3rd game of the season knowing they needed to be fantastic. As the season wears on, they will not duplicate this night-in and night-out. We take a game or two against this team.
  21. Boston's defensive deflector shields sticks are fantastic. They blocked so many shots and deflected everything all night. Our skills are not in changing shot/pass angle to get them through such disicpline.
  22. Goalofsson! We needed it sooner, but that was pretty.
  23. Negative. Didn't go in. It just impacted on the surface. That means that our next drive into the trench is going to bury them. (I mean... you know... score a goal.) Then, just need a few more after that.
