  1. You are. But what I hear you say is: @MODO Hockey : When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master. Oki-pos-obi: Only a master of evil, Modo! Evil and Bruins! Welcome back! And here's hoping Ullmark has a whale of a game against a Sabres barrage. 38 shots faced, 3 GA, and then an ENG for a 4-2 Sabres victory. Ullmark gets the 2nd star.
  2. Concentrate. Feel the Concept Ehrhoff Moulson Kassian Rebuild flow. Yes. Good.... Calm.... Through Concept of the Rebuild... things you will see. Other arenas. The future... the past... old Sabres long gone.
  3. Party time! Edit: Where? In the USA, obviously. And Tager is invited!
  4. Girgs.... after the PP expires, because he's all about the Plus/Minus!
  5. For celebration and joy. And my real-world selection. We've got a lot of things planned for you this evening...
  6. Of course! But let's say a team wants Buffalo to retain $4M/year on the trade. Retention is annual for the remainder of the contract. Now, I wouldn't do it if I were GM Sheevyn. But if the opposition GM even wanted me to consider it, then I'd be owning ALL their firsts, plus the players/prospects to balance it out in the short term.
  7. Just saw this in @LabattBlue's reply post. This is odd. If you have the means, how about just donating to the charity? Whatever it may be. There are millions of people or animals or plants or sites/locations that could use charitable donations to improve their lot. Don't arbitrarily tie it to the performance of a sports team in some histrionic show for a message board.
  8. Let's pump the repulsorlifts just a little bit. The Sabres played two games against a shell of a team (from what is was 4 months ago) and a team on a 2014-Sabres-level tank effort that got a fantastic goalie performance. This is a limited sample size against some of the worst teams in the league. Vegas was rolling 3 second lines and a viciously heavy 4th line, plus a stacked blue line and MAF in goal. They went to the Stanley Cup Final. Yes, the Sabres are aggressive (as Vegas was in the inaugural season). So are many teams. Let's enjoy the new direction and the games for a month before making any comparisons to any team. Remember --- Krueger was 9-2-1 in his first season at one point.
  9. Retention is permitted, but it costs a 1st per season retained (which by rule is every year). So, if you want the Sabres to retain anything, it's your next 5 firsts. No lottery protection. Plus a top prospect and some current player salary dump. I'm altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.
  10. Monetarily, it doesn't make sense to buy him out until June of 2023 after his bonus is paid out. Then, the cap hit is manageable (especially as the cap rebounds). There will only be one bad year of a cap hit of $6M in his contract's final year (2026-27). Otherwise it's an ok 1.6, 4.6 (one year only), or 2.6. But until then -- he's not going anywhere and Granato (or next coach) just needs to get the most out of him as possible. Or -- the team needs to get good enough to send a 1st+ to get someone to take the contract. All that said, in the next few years, the Sabres are unlikely to be cap-stressed, so Skinner can do what he does.
  11. So certain are you. Always with you what cannot be done.
  12. Jackikin Eichwalker appears on page 28 of the script.
  13. What's in there the GDT? Only what you take with you. So -- for the record -- I would have loved to see healthy Eichel and Reinhart on this year's roster. That might've led Ullmark to re-sign. They could have played this game if instructed to do so. However, they're all gone. We must not let our minds dwell on the future or the past. We must focus on where we are. Hm. What we are doing. Hm. Excitement. Adventure. It's a new season!
  14. This thread is my kind of scum. Fearless and inventive. Whoa-ho-ho!
  15. Great game against the defending (what-exactly?) conference champion. Yes, yes, no Price, no Weber, no Perry, no Danault. And on the second night of the first back-to-back of the season. Against a 3rd string goalie. But still... those are the teams you take advantage of. Will an effort like this always earn a W? Nope. A goalie will steal a game, a fluke bounce will steal a game, a bad call... etc. But the effort will keep us entertained. Is it a fast team ship? You've never heard of the Buffalo Sabres? Should I have? It's the team that beat the Canadiens 5 to 1.
  16. Efforts like this (not just goals) will bring people to the games.
  17. Hagg has been mixed, but on the plus side, he's deflected 3 or more shots off the rush casually into the netting. No SOG, no rebound. That's expected of a lower pair D. Looking the part. Cozens and Hinostroza are a formidable forechecking tandem.
  18. Love the puck possession here, not always going forward and just dumping it and giving it away. Instead, controlling possession. Crushing this 3rd.
  19. Now, when teams (maybe even Les Habs tonight) start crashing our net, we've got to treat their players the same way Gallagher treated Caggiula. Don't be a pushover in either crease.
  20. Way to be, Caggiula! Good drive to the net because the puck was flopping... and good on him. And Okposo is on the Council and has the rank of Master.
  21. Alright... now for the final installment in the trilogy. Remember the Death Star! Don't go Death Star Mode and let them make sortie after sortie of trench run. Stay on the attack and take the fight to the hidden base. Girgs, Wedge Craig, let's close it up.
  22. If longer than tonight... R2 is ready to roll out and repair the shields.
  23. Aha. That's what I skimmed past on pages before. Excellent. I'll have to peruse.
