I’m offended. 😡 Sorry, I got too distracted thinking about how he’d fit coaching Reinhardt and Powers and forgot to double check spelling. Hopefully you’ll forgive me, MODOK.
-
This is probably a mostly fair assessment of the board but it wasn’t that way maybe a month ago. There was a lot more anti-Power sentiment then and things definitely changed more once the lottery hit and it set in that there’s probably a 90% chance he’s a Sabre now. If we get Aaron Ekblad out of him I’d be ecstatic

There are a lot of successful coaches that have taken the same path as failed ones. Fir the record, I’m not necessarily arguing for Gronberg as much as I am the weak Ralph argument against him.
-
The comparisons between Gronberg and Krueger miss the mark by a mile. It’s similar to Bills fans comparing first round pick Rousseau to Maybin. Krueger isn’t some “European coach.” He was a former hockey coach who hadn’t done so in years who had shifted to an entirely different sport. Gronberg has remained around the game.

CBS predict Tremaine Edmunds to win the DPOY

I think we’re honestly overthinking this and a lot of people are talking themselves out of Power because it’s not flashy or fun.

I want this for you.

The feeling on Beniers on this board is not reflected by the feeling on Beniers off of this board. I like the player a lot. I would not consider taking him over Power.
-
Agreed. I do think some players play games that are partial to the bigger ice and that's part of why they fail (I'm worried about this with Eklund - he thrives so much in space/extra space). I don't think JJ is one of those players. Can he come over for camps and whatnot in the offseason to skate with the team?
-
Both Power and Dahlin are very fluid on their opposite side. It's unlikely anyone worth enough to get you to move down from the top pick in the draft will be left unprotected and if they are Seattle isn't going to give that up.
-
So much is going to change on this roster between now and the time that Power (or whoever is drafted) comes into their own ... So if Power is your clear number one you take him and don't even think about anyone else.
-
Assuming any of those D you named will turn out to be stellar and reliable NHL dmen is a mistake. Take BPA (it's Power).
-
Your conspiracy theory proved (and has proven) to be false, would ya look at that! (Stats never back this stuff up, it's all in your head)
-
That's actually less than I would've guessed (and that's because I'm an idiot)
-
This is complete made up BS. He didn’t travel 200 feet to hit Evans. He traveled 200 feet because the puck was on the other end of the ice and he traveled to where the puck is, Evans just had possession of it.

I'm encouraged by the way Power talks about the game. He's got a few Hedman comparisons and in this Athletic article he doesn't just go "yea, we're both big and can skate." It's a more nuanced and understanding response. He talks a lot about "thinking the game" in interviews. He clearly knows it's important to have the right mindset on the ice as much as being big or skating or being quick. I've also noticed in a lot of clips that he's comfortable anywhere on the blueline - he glides with and without the puck to whatever open ice is there for him and really seems to understand the system he's in (note: this is mostly a guess because I obviously don't know the system but he looks like he's in control of his game). His offensive game will benefit a ton from his ability to be calm when pressured at the point.

When this report initially came out that it was happening it blew my mind. The league didn't even deny it - just noted that it was actually agreed to by the former players and their doctors. So many important people at a table and nobody thought to stop this - purely because the league viewed it as a way to save some money in their lawsuit. This is the league openly admitting to using a racist tactic. Colin Kaepernick continues to prove to be well ahead of his time in calling out this league.

Why in the world would we do this?

I love you but baby you need a hug

I'm simply not attaching the first pick to Eichel in nearly any scenario unless a team throws their five/six best assets our way (and that's not happening). It's bad business to give away two of your three best assets (especially when they're this young) in the same deal. Absolutely not. How about, instead, we keep the first pick ... and we send Jack to Anaheim for Zegras, Gibson and 3. Then we get Power and Benier and everybody is happy.

There's some good parity in the league this year, though. Lakers are already on the brink of elimination. If they lose that automatically means we'll have a champion the league hasn't seen since at least 2011 (Mavericks won that one, they lead the Clippers 3-2 right now). Other than that one Dallas championship no other remaining team has won it since 1983 (Philadelphia).
-
There's as much talent in basketball right now as there ever has been (the same will be true ten years from now, probably) but there's still not enough talent to foster parity, really. There are few true game changers that turn teams into contenders and without those guys it's hard to compete - and those guys are signing places like Memphis or Orlando.

Good way to try to get more people on board with you by starting a thread and loading it with a thread tearing him apart lol

I don't think the Schiefele hit is that bad. He's clearly putting it all on the line to get to a puck and stop a game-ending empty netter. He's a stride late. It's reckless but so is half of the ***** that happens each night, this one just happened to be at a higher speed and the guy got hurt. If Evans bounces back up nobody talks about that hit.

Talking mostly football here but teams do not draft BPA in the early rounds of the NFL draft. The entire first and probably the entire second are all need-based picks (they take the best player at a position of need) and then you start to get more BPA as you go on ... but even into the deeper rounds they're filling spots they think could help in the near future more than always BPA.
