If you can’t understand the difference maybe I was too confident in your smarts.

It really is. Before the draft lottery all of pro hockey media was talking about where Owen Power would go based on the lottery. Afterwards, the same. His own head coach already tweeted he’s looking forward to him joining Buffalo (he joked that it can’t be until 2022, though).
-
Okay, so you’re just jumping through hoops to confirm your incorrect insecurity over where he lands on the immediate depth chart. Got it.
-
The sarcasm is so hardcore obvious in that post. Ooooof. I have not said he’s consensus.
-
Colin Blackwell averaged more minutes at forward than last year’s first overall pick who was considered a generational talent.
-
That’s not the return for Jack. That’s the return for Jack, Risto and Olofsson.
-
No he just literally dominated the entire WORLD. He is a world eater. World dominant. Best in the world. *keeps telling myself this until it feels better to be a Sabres fan* I have literally never said that last part. There’s a reason we’ve been drafting high.
-
It’s really not. Dahlin was first so there’s not much to worry about that. He’s two on the organizational depth chart instantly at LHD but might not get top four minutes immediately. Not a lot of rookies get thrown into that fire right away.
-
What he did this week is confirm the confidence that has already been shown in him. I don’t think he warped a lot of minds but I think he solidified his place at the top. If scouts didn’t go into this tournament with an eye on prospects and a plan to use what they see in their overall evaluation of the players then they have no clue what they’re doing. It doesn’t change an entire evaluation but it certainly can change facets of what you’re seeing/have seen.

Liger, rakish and a few others are damn good and I trust their stuff. It’s why I’ve been drawn to Beniers and hope we somehow get another top three pick so we can take him. I know you didn’t ask me but he’s number two behind Dahlin BUT he’s a few years behind, too.
-
It’s not even that. It’s acting like Power is some new phenomenon. 4/10 of the scouts Bob interviewed had him as number one preseason. He was the projected number one then and he has only solidified that.

Yes, if Tampa Bay wins the next game the series ends in five games.
-
Dude. Holy *****. It’s okay to say something good about the kid. He was trusted with huge minutes on a gold medal winning men’s team at 18 years old. Nobody is saying this makes him anything more than what he was already believed to be: the clear first overall pick.
-
That also doesn’t mean project but in my book raw can get good really fast. Sometimes too fast. *****, I’m going to call her.
-
Agreed. But they should also force a game seven against Tampa and then have him announce his extension to the team right before the game.
-
Hire Gallant and ship Reinhart to Calgary for Rasmus Andersson and Andrew Mangiapane.
-
Can people stop calling players projects because they need to improve something? Of course 18 year olds need to work on something. Power is not a project. He’s a prospect.
-
I’m sure we can make a package work without one but I’d only do that Risto deal if Arizona told us “go get us a first.” But I also imagine our 33 should be a good part of a deal if they’re looking for earlier picks.

I don’t care about protecting Tage or Bjork.

Went Twitter dumpster diving to see what people thought of Power today.

I think lists will be all over the place so it’ll be interesting to see who they go with. Seattle doesn’t even exist yet and he seems like a Seattle player already, though. Probably because he seems like a Vegas player.
