Driedger will definitely be in either Seattle or on another team but he’s the only goalie outside of Knight that’s worthwhile. Bob’s contract is atrocious. He’s got five years left at $10M per. I could maybe be convinced to deal for him if Florida took both Skinner and Okposo and gave us value otherwise.

I agree. I want Jack gone. I’m bored and think if they were to get the right pieces in that deal it could set this team up for a long time. But ideally you keep Samson and have him as a core part of righting the ship. If he doesn’t want to extend long-term, though, I’m shipping him out of town as well.

I think Vancouver and Calgary make a lot of sense to target in a Samson deal. Guys like Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, Rasmus Andersson, Boeser, Horvat and JT Miller come to mind. Those are places I think he’d be interested in since it gets him closer to home and we don’t take a steep talent drop off. For some of those guys we’d have to add to the deal and/or get contracts worked out.

I don’t think the NHL has even heard of Connor McDavid so I think they feel fine. He certainly opened my eyes with his D, that’s for sure. 😉

As far as the TRUE centerpiece, not a ton. But I think several other teams that are in the running for Eichel (reportedly) are better suitors for a deal like that. If a McDavid trade were to wait until his NMC clause kicks in, though, then he's not even going to consider the ol' city on Lake Erie.

I think Vegas is legitimately the best or second best team in the league - and I don’t think Minnesota is close to them - but they had some really tight games late in the year that is drawing the best out of the Wild. It could end in a 4-1 series win for Vegas but Minnesota has made it entertaining.
