I got this information from the fact that this is an abysmal job and we have yet to be connected to anyone I'd expect to get a lot of action on the head coaching market. It doesn't appear there will be many openings this offseason.

Any concern that the rumors about McDavid’s potential discontent in Edmonton could impact the number of suitors for Eichel? Even if he doesn’t try to force a trade this offseason (feels very unlikely he would) maybe teams want to preserve some pieces to make a run at him if another failed season makes him do it next year.

I don’t believe Tocchet or Boudreau will be hotly-sought after candidates. Separately: there’s been a lot of (unfounded) angst with how the league set things up for Vegas but their best player (by a lot) is Mark Stone. That dude is a hell of a hockey player.

I think these are solid but I hate teams wearing alternates in the playoffs.

He won’t be traded prior to a coach being there but his fate will likely be mostly locked in before then. We don’t appear to be pursuing anyone who we’ll have a lot of competition to hire so whoever we get will basically be in a “be a head coach or don’t” position.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as a coach who has large amounts of regular season success and fails in the postseason. It happens but only as a result of the fact that only one team can win the cup and there are very few coaches who get the pleasure of hoisting said cup.

I don’t think a coach will have very much impact on an Eichel decision.

I’m not so sure Asplund doesn’t have the ability to pot 20 in his best season. I wouldn’t count on it but I’m not writing it off.

The Oilers would laugh. They wouldn’t even do Eichel and Dahlin for McDavid. They wouldn’t do Eichel, Samson and Dahlin for McDavid.

I don’t really care what ROR does. I wish him well overall and liked the Blues as cup champs. Idk what he ever did to us to warrant disdain. Just a lot of loser’s mentality hating on guys who find success in better situations.

No way I’m giving him an offer sheet but he’s a guy I hope they have interest in regardless of whether Jack/Sam are here.

They could include their five best pieces and it wouldn’t be enough for me. I’m not in love with any of their young guns. Caufield and Suzuki are guys I do like but beyond that I don’t see a lot of value to add and that’s not nearly enough.
