Wait ... there are people who don’t like Samson Reinhart? How? Also agreed on pick number 9 not being enough. If the Eichel deal lands a top ten pick I also have very little interest in even getting a pick in a Reinhart deal because I’d like the pieces in the second big deal we make to be more “real”/now pieces. I want Horvat or Boeser in a Vancouver deal. That likely means it becomes a bigger deal that involves another piece from each side since just shuffling those bodies wouldn’t make sense value wise for either side.

I really just wish I could see the returns on these deals because this SHOULD be a great opportunity, despite the talent we are shipping out. I don't expect the opportunity will be taken advantage of properly.

I somewhat recently joined the search for a PS5 and my god this is a full-time job ... and one that doesn't ever seem to pay off. These bots and resellers are nuts out here. I don't know if I play games enough to actually want to go through this.

Because they’re trying to change the makeup of a roster that has gotten them nowhere. Same reason we likely would’ve considered a Samson trade even prior to he and Eichel’s postseason pressers. These are good players but at some point you’ve got to give to get and you can’t just throw prospects into a deal for an expensive forward when money is already an issue.

There have been rumblings on all three of them at some point in the last two years, though. I think there's a deal to be had for any of them as the centerpiece with Samson going the other way. It could make sense for both sides to make it a more involved deal where other bodies are involved. The value on Reinhart is a little higher than a guy like Boeser but near/equal/below what Horvat is. If it's Boeser Vancouver isn't going to want to add much but maybe they add a more valuable second piece than our second piece added. (NOTE: If Samson is traded I'm going to miss giving him the honor by calling him Samson each time as he requested as a young'n)

This theory almost never works. So many examples of situations where people said a franchise could just sit and wait for a guy to get to UFA and then that player never makes it to UFA. You trade for the player if you want them.
