    Briere?

A little disappointed to see Briere taking the retirement tour as a Flyer today. They will also be honoring him with a ceremony during a game against the Sabres this year.
  2. I enjoyed that, too. I'm a little impressed by the number of photoshoots this girl has. I guess if I looked that good I would have people pay me take pictures, too. Instead I just bought a pint of ice cream and sprayed whipped cream into my mouth.
  3. I stand by D4rk and Liger in the same discussion. Welcome to our new world, everybody. There's been a ton of anti-feminism from some posts in this thread. It may be misinformation and/or the common assumption that feminists are all loud, man-hating, -wielding in your streets crazies. They aren't. They just want women to continue progressing towards true equality. They are women AND men. We are not here to take over the world, just to make it better for others.
  4. http://www.tsn.ca/adidas-lands-nhl-jersey-deal-1.346839 Sounds like major changes coming as well as advertising on jerseys. If the NBA is an example of what Adidas does the NHL just got a whole lot uglier and gimmicky. (Reebok is a subsidiary of Adidas, but they produce their own designs separate from Adidas right now)
  5. Hopefully Evander's on-ice skills are as good but more consistent than his dating skills. He had been dating model Mara Teigen (have fun on Google or the link below). Big catch. But recently they must've had some major turbulence because Kane posted on social media photos of himself talking about how he didn't need her and was sick of being used... Until today where he flipped again and said he was wrong for saying that. Appears they're back together. I look forward to seeing her in Buffalo at some point. http://www.barstoolsports.com/philadelphia/friendly-reminder-that-sabres-evander-kane-is-dating-smokestack-model-mara-teigen/
  6. I agree with the gist of what you're saying, but I don't think the rage is appropriate in response to what Taro said. The line you bolded is a fine point. If you're going to make a mistake at least get SOMETHING out of it. In this case the Bills got LeSean McCoy because they traded down (acquired the pick to take Kiko, traded Kiko for McCoy). I agree that "best of 13" means nothing (and I'm still not ready to agree with that anyways). I don't think Taro was making excuses. He seems pretty discontent with the selection, too. Everybody should be. It was yet another poor decision at the position.

  8. No matter how much talk and thought I put into the Bills QB position, I always end up going back to the idea that this team simply doesn't draft QBs for some wildly stupid reason. This team has drafted a whopping total of four QB's since 1997 (Jim Kelly retired). EJ Manuel and JP Losman in the first round, Trent Edwards in the third and Levi Brown in the seventh. Looking at those drafts individually (presented without opinion): 1997: 11 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Jake Plummer is the only successful QB from that draft. 1998: 8 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Selected WR Fred Coleman (2 career catches) at 160, Matt Hasselback went 187. Selected OT Robert Hicks (3 years in NFL) at 68, Brian Griese went 91. 1999: 13 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills took TE Bobby Collins (16 career catches) at 122, Aaron Brooks went 131. 2000: 12 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills took RB Sammy Morris (488 yards in 4 BUF seasons) at 156, Marc Bulger went 168. Bills took DT Leif Larsen (2 sacks in 2 seasons) at 194, Tom Brady went 199. 2001: 11 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills took CB Nate Clements (23 INTs for BUF) at 21, Drew Brees went 32. 2002: 15 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills took DC/LB Coy Wire (21 starts) at 97, David Garrard went 108. 2003: 13 QBs taken (0 to BUF). None notable available when Buffalo picked. 2004: 17 QBs taken (Losman to BUF). Hard to argue when they picked one in round 1. Matt Schaub (3rd) only notable QB taken after Losman. 2005: 14 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills traded selection 20 for Losman, Aaron Rodgers taken at 24. 2006: 13 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills selected S Donte Whitner (66 starts in BUF) at 8, Jay Cutler went 11. 2007: 11 QBs taken (Edwards to BUF). None notable available when Buffalo picked. 2008: 13 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills selected Leodis McKelvin (current Bill) at 11, Joe Flacco went 16. 2009: 11 QBs taken (0 to BUF). None notable available when Buffalo picked. 2010: 13 QBs taken (Brown to BUF). None notable available when Buffalo picked. 2011: 13 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills selected CB/S Aaron Williams (current Bill) at 34, Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick went 35 and 36. 2012: 11 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Bills traded up and selected WR TJ Graham (already out of league) at 69, Russell Wilson went 75 and Nick Foles 88. 2013: 11 QBs taken (Manuel to BUF). Took Manuel at 16, no solid QBs have established themselves. 2014: 14 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Year after Manuel. Too early to tell. 2015: 7 QBs taken (0 to BUF). Too early to tell. In that timeframe teams have drafted the following number of QBs: 11: New York Jets 10: Baltimore, Denver, Green Bay, San Diego, San Francisco 9: New England, Washington 8: Arizona, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland (did not draft in 97/98), Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa Bay 7: Atlanta, Detroit, Houston (est. 2002), New York Giants 6: Carolina, Miami, Minnesota, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Tennessee 5: Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Oakland 4: Buffalo 3: Dallas Exactly half the league has drafted at least double the QBs the Bills have since Kelly retired. This isn't really the time for this post as there's nothing that can be done right now... But I'll bring it back up next offseason. This shouldn't be an issue. The exclusively dumb way of thinking about the most important position in sports is mind numbing.
  9. Rex says that Tyrod will play with the ones, Cassel with the 2s and EJ with the 3s on Thursday. Said EJ will play a majority of the game.
  10. Rivers signs a four-year extension in San Angeles (or is it Los Diego?). That pipe dream dies.
  11. That's the most common reference to the name I see, but it's much later than Old Hoss above.
  12. Today I learned about Charles Radbourn... Radbourn was born in Rochester, NY. He went on to be a professional baseball player who played in Buffalo and Boston. He is a Hall of Famer with over 300 wins. He was also nicknamed "Old Hoss" and happens to be the first reference to the nickname Hoss I can find on the internet. Oh, and he's known as being the first person to ever flip off a camera.
  13. Are you jealous because I wasn't talking about your beautiful deep balls?
  14. I've seen the EJ didn't get any help narrative, and it's certainly accurate... But he's not the only person who suffered from the bad hands of his targets. Tyrod had two BEAUTIFUL deep balls where only his WR could make the catch and neither play was made.
  15. Looks to me like it's on the rise.
  16. Evolution is not just a theory. It is fact. There are theories of evolution, but the basis is fact.
  17. Tyrod will start against Cleveland next week (per Rex).
  18. EJ with a BEAUTIFUL deep ball. Was forced to step into it instead of leaning on the back leg. Great throw. Good night for all three. WHAT SAY YOU MATT SIMMS!?
  19. Tyrod looking beautiful out there. Two REALLY nice throws down the field (neither play was made by the WR). Quick with his reads. Moving his feet... Slowly locking up the job in my eyes.
  20. After an extremely anti-social life in Buffalo the first six months a ton of my friends are now living in the area. Things have been much better lately actually having people to hangout and drink with... You could say it's been F'N fantastic.
  21. This is completely false. There's just a lot of terrible with the good. Luckily the tweets have been only attempts to identify her and not insult her... But we know those are coming. Argh. I reported the tweets in hopes of having them removed, but it's likely too late.
  22. And now the worst has happened: her name is slowly starting to leak onto Twitter. Not good.
  23. This should've been your first post in response to Wookie. Well said. I'm sorry that somebody possibly being raped inconvenienced you, try to be considerate. It sounds like a "get over it" if you're attempting to wish away the subject. It's on a similarly bad level with victim blaming/shaming.
  24. I don't support handling it in L1ght's manner, but what Wookie said was certainly terrible. I think it's a good general rule to take the time to consider the legitimacy of your complaint in the context of what it is you're complaining about. What would a rape victim or falsely accused individual think if you aired your displeasure with how their unfortunate circumstances have negatively impacted your life?
