  1. Don't worry guys, we still have a kick off specialist.
  2. He had to have requested this, right? Methinks he'll go home and play with Dallas.
  3. I would say it's a safe bet they do a game but they are taking a lot away this year. Looking at their home games I bet they do Dolphins or Texans this year.
  4. Matt Cassel also played in the LLWS... The only difference between Drury and Cassel is that Drury chose the right professional career.
  5. This was a great slam, but I'm with immerman. So much was said about RGIII's attitude coming out of college -- but in a positive way. Having been born on a military base in Japan and raised a certain way he was viewed as a great person with some real confidence. Always kind and funny. Then it changed after his rookie year. He was acting, probably fairly, a talented kid with no real support system. Shanahan destroyed him and nobody was there to help him after that game. He was playing scared his second year. A lot of floated passes because he would do anything just to avoid contact. Constantly watching the pass rush instead of his receivers. It's been RGIII against the world in Washington since that game. I think RGIII was a true superstar ruined by a psychotic coach and his (RGIII) own ambition. He was fragile, but he was seemingly never pushed to protect himself.
  6. If they cut him they're definitely, by rule, not allowed to sign somebody else. I do expect him to be on the roster, but I'm leaving the door open for a switch at the position. Doubt it. But Schmidt is meh.
  7. 53-man Roster Projection: QB - Tyrod Taylor, Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel (3) RB - LeSean McCoy, Fred Jackson, Boobie Dixon, Karlos Williams (4) FB - Jerome Felton (1) WR - Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Percy Harvin, Marcus Easley, Marcus Thigpen, Marquise Goodwin (6) TE - Charles Clay, Chris Gragg, MarQueis Gray, Matthew Mulligan (4) OT - Cordy Glenn, Seantrel Henderson, Cyrus Kouandjio (3) OG/C - Richie Incognito, John Miller, Eric Wood, Kraig Urbik, Cyril Richardson (5) DE - Mario Williams, Jerry Hughes, Manny Lawson, Red Bryant, IK Enemkpali (5) DT - Kyle Williams, Corbin Bryant, Stefan Charles (3) LB - Nigel Bradham, Preston Brown, Randell Johnson, Tony Steward, Quentin Groves (5) CB - Stephon Gilmore, Ronald Darby, Nickell Robey, Mario Butler, Ron Brooks, Ellis Lankster (6) S - Corey Graham, Aaron Williams, Duke Williams, Bacarri Rambo (4) K - Dan Carpenter, Jordan Gay (2) P - Colton Schmidt (1) LS - Garrison Sanborn (1) Injury lists: Jarius Wynn, Ty Powell, Ross Cockrell, Leodis McKelvin Suspended: Marcell Dareus Bold = lock to make the team The players in italics are players I could see being cut. Especially if certain players get cut that the staff wants to bring in. I expect a few of them to be cut. Especially if any solid TE, OT or CB depth is out. They will have to make a bonus cut after week one when Dareus' suspension ended and another cut when McKelvin returns. Poz is fine. But I agree on Hackenberg. He was pretty brutal last year. But he's still currently projected to be a first rounder, and the expectation is he'll be a very high one if he has a good year. If he has a huge year he'll probably go first overall if that team wants a QB.
  8. See above. I'm confident this is the draft to find a QB right now. We'll see if the season reinforces that. If it was a weak draft/becomes a weak draft then I would be more likely to say draft one later if the starter finds success
  9. This draft is looking deeper at the top than most in recent memory. A guy I LOVE is Jared Goff at Cal. A ton of Aaron Rodgers comparisons. He's a drive finisher. I don't recall a college QB better at operating in the red zone. If you get inside the 20/25 it's a touchdown. Goff (CAL), Cook (MSU), Hackenberg (Penn St), Cardale Jones/JT Barrett (Ohio St), Cody Kessler (USC) and Gunner Kiel (Cincy) all have first/second round grades as is. The first four are projected first rounders right now. A lot of guys in the middle, too. I think this team needs to draft a QB early until they can definitively say "we've got our long-term answer." Then draft one late at least every couple years.
  10. That would be another typically bone-headed Bills move at the position.
  11. Regardless of what happens I do think this team needs to be focused on drafting a QB with their first pick next offseason as long as all the guys at the top don't fall flat on their face. The only situation where they shouldn't be doing that is if it's Tyrod or EJ and they have legitimate STAR QB seasons. Not "good" like 3200 and 18-10 TD/INTs. Have to either bring in a new starter or high-level competition. I plan to do a 53-man prediction later. Not because I think anybody values my opinion on it or because I think I've got any good knowledge on it, but because I think it's fun. Others should try to do the same.
  12. So did Matt Simms. ;) But really: EJ or Tyrod. Prefer Tyrod strongly but I'll only scream once if it's EJ. It'll be a never-ending sighscream if it's Cassel.
  13. I'm confused by those saying Cassel didn't play much to protect him from injury. Cassel played 18 snaps. Tyrod played 22. The only difference was Cassel went three and out in his first drive.
  14. Tyrod has had the most reps with the 1s for the last several weeks in practice, to be clear. I don't remember a time that Cassel was getting significantly or consistently more than the other two. If practices are what matter most then EJ has no chance (I still don't think he does).
  15. I'm wrong all the time. I don't know what you're trying to do but it's not working.I'm not confident in EJ. He was incredible today, though. His throw to Gragg on the sideline was the best Bills QB throw I've seen in a long time. I did crap on him for hitting the tent. I shared the tweet and laughed. That's a pretty reasonable response to a guy hitting a tent that isn't all that close to the field. Rex said the decision will be made tomorrow. It won't be announced. Matt Simms, barring injury, will play every snap of the Lions game.
  16. On your first part: I don't care what others believe about EJ. This preseason (outside of practices) makes it seem like EJ has made some legit progress. I'm still not a believer, but I won't break anything if he's named the starter. It's him or Tyrod. I think Tyrod should have the obvious edge, but who knows. On the second part: saying a group of people doesn't know anything is obnoxious (innit, freeman?). Let's slow down with these claims that we have two good QBs (or one for that matter). I do believe getting a pick out of EJ or Cassel would be a good move, but I think EJ is the only one with even a little value. If we just keep him that's fine too. Being cautious is okay.
  17. My thoughts on the day: Anything but Tyrod is a strange decision. He locked up the job today. Matt Cassel is "Meh Cassel." Backup. EJ did just enough to become valuable in a trade. The defense was butt.
  18. It's because their kicker got hurt. But I agree. Go for it.
  19. Aaron Williams appears to be fine. I'm not looking forward to having to give safety help to Darby consistently against guys like Luck and Brady in the first two weeks (if Brady is unsuspended). I expect we'll need a QB to make some plays in those two games and not just the safe style of play.
  20. He's not overrated when he's on the field. I don't think you can call a guy overrated after he gets injured. EJ with the perfect throw to a wide open Charles Clay there. Big Play Clay. 67-yard TD. If this preseason is any indication Ronald Darby was a horrible pick.
  21. This is actually a thing and it's the very best thing... Buffalo Bills PR @BuffaloBillsPR #Bills captains today: QB Matt Cassel QB Tyrod Taylor QB EJ Manuel QB Matt Simms
  22. Another argument against Cassel:
  23. Oh God that was gold, Eleven. "I put my dick away because I'm a gentleman."
  24. Conveniently leaving out "one of." Try again.
  25. Yea, he had a ton of weapons to work with. You don't go to the HOF as a game manager.
