  1. We don’t know what either prospect’s future holds yet.
  2. Yup. It’s baffling to me that anyone is mad about this.
  3. You don’t have to tell us every single time a Rangers trade is brought up that you don’t want it.
  4. I am confident that he's already found multiple buyers willing to take on the risk of his surgery. I don't believe he's found any buyers willing to pay the price for the player, though. The two obviously work against each other (the price and the risk).
  5. Maybe this is something we should all take seriously. We should put it to a vote. But first, we'll need everyone to register for a party and vote in the primary for their party before we proceed with the general vote on whether this conversation should be moved to politics. Register with your local election board today!
  6. Vegas feels like it makes a lot of sense even if I'm firmly in the Jack isn't going anywhere camp. Mark Stone isn't overpaid, though. He might not be a superstar but he's damn good. His playoff performance this year does shake my confidence in him a bit but we'll see if that repeats next year. Tuch is definitely a piece I'd like though he's cheap and under control so I think Vegas will place a very high value on a guy like him. I don't know that Reilly Smith has played center in years if ever so I don't imagine him logging minutes at the 1C is a possibility. His contract certainly helps move the deal along, though. Their 1st and Krebs are definitely in the deal if we make it.
  7. Having spent almost every second of the first 27 years of my life in WNY living in a small town where the median age is near 40 and everyone is both a conservative and as dumb as can be (no, I’m not saying the two are related) I have felt the political divide between WNY and NYC is obvious.
  8. It was pretty well-known Fox wasn’t signing in Calgary and that he had eyes on the Rangers. It was thought to be foolish at the time that Carolina placed value on him in that deal. Lindholm hadn’t blossomed into the player he’s been in Calgary, though.
  9. She did beat one of the most popular names for governor in the democratic primary just a couple years ago. Not saying you’re wrong but just a thought. The democratic primary winner will be governor, though, and it won’t be her.
  10. Any link to this? Ah, I imagine it’s somewhere in this? https://www.tsn.ca/radio/ottawa-1200/salvian-if-the-flames-are-gonna-trade-for-eichel-buffalo-will-have-to-take-salary-back-1.1680987
  11. One of the stronger, more important posts I’ve seen on this here website.
  12. Another reason extending Dahlin long-term is the move.
  13. If there weren’t a similar pattern of comments coming out within the last few months from other players (and their agents) then I would agree but that’d require me to ignore the fact that it is indeed happening. There is a stench and it didn’t come and go because we fired a guy who may or may not have been suggested by someone who never even worked for the organization (and, in fact, turned the organization down in favor of the team just a short drive north). There isn’t much criticism for this team that isn’t warranted and I don’t believe the organization has earned anyone’s energy spent in defense of it. All that said, go Sabres. May we someday bleed blue and gold again (ideally with a competent medical staff on hand to inform us on the proper handling of such a disorder).
  14. If the takeaway after the Eichel trade is "we got what we could for him" I think this board will blow up.
  15. Unless they've already retained elsewhere they absolutely can. They'd be offloading $3.75M from his contract for this season so while they couldn't absorb JVR into that they would be able to easily find other ways to make any deal involving him work. If those deals were on the table a couple million wouldn't get in the way of getting a deal done. And they aren't going to forgo getting great value for the best offensive player they've had in a long time purely because of it. The catch is: those deals aren't on the table. They left him unprotected in the expansion draft and he wasn't even taken. In all likeliness that means two franchises have reached out to other GMs about what type of value Tarasenko has in a trade and both found it wasn't much. I think teams are being very stingy about first round picks, especially in trades involving injured players (but not in deals for Rasmus Ristolainen). I don't think there is much value placed on him right now.
  16. I think Robin's criticism of Buffalo should alarm us all and not just be dismissed because we didn't love the price paid for him, his overall performance or what he's said about the team since. @nfreemanmade a point about the defense of a franchise that has done nothing but lose for a decade now. Lehner went on to be a Vezina finalist AND, maybe more relevant here, a Masterton finalist for a player who "best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey." Not to mention the team who had the Vezina winner last season just got rid of that player in favor of him. He has found success and solid ground once leaving this situation. I don't believe for a second things have changed enough nor do the result reflect an improved environment ... Not to mention three of our most notable players have made every effort to leave the team (one being the captain and star). This franchise might be the worst-run organization in North America over the last ten years.
  17. If these deals were available St Louis would do them themselves.
  18. Thank you for alleviating me of many of my terrible takes 😂
  19. I believe because he turns 20 in the calendar year that he’d be playing the game(s) for the Sabres it does not slide but I may be wrong
  20. I don’t believe Power is eligible to slide his contract because he will be 20 by the end of the calendar year in which he is playing that game. So if he plays a single game for the Sabres or Amerks it burns a year. However, it doesn’t impact his UFA status because it wouldn’t count as an accrued season.
  21. Oscari Laaksonen is a guy I think we might be underrated. I imagine he plays in Buffalo for at least part of this season.
  22. I don’t believe she has a shot either but I think she’s going to try.
