  1. The Mets look stupid here but this is not the reason. Baseball NEEDS a transformation and all these new players going out there with energy and passion is helping a ton. This has nothing to do with the “let the kids play” stuff.
  2. I don’t know what more Pegula needs to do to this team to convince people he’s cutting costs.
  3. If only the CBA allowed for conditional salary retention. Essentially the Sabres would retain a portion of Eichel’s salary but if he meets a certain performance point the retention disappears for either the next year or multiple years.
  4. I guess it’d be in a hypothetical “tonorrow” because I don’t feel confident KA has done the necessary work to get this where it should/needs to go. There are MANY steps outside of this BUT I do believe imposing a deadline for final offers would have ended this process amicably.
  5. This is how 94% of arguments start here. Pouncing on one comment in a larger conversation and making accusations without considering the context. None of us have proof so to provide any form of opinion on the Eichel situation is to do the same AA and I have been doing in a friendly, enjoyable conversation.
  6. Another move that Beane apparently got right: Shaq Lawson. He couldn’t even make the Texans and was just traded to the Jets. Second time he’s been traded since leaving in free agency one year ago.
  7. I don’t think anyone has ever advocated giving him away, luckily.
  8. This is a possible reality, as well. I would like the reality where this is over. I think the cost of having this weigh over the franchise for a prolonged period of time is higher than the difference in a trade package now and a trade package if you get that little extra that you are holding out for.
  9. What if he added a fourth goalie to that offer?
  10. I doubt the offers are around what the Sabres got for O’Reilly. If they are then I’m in the hold him camp but if they’re in the ballpark I think they are I’m ready to move on. I guess I should qualify that I doubt many formal offers have been made, if any. I think it’s more likely Adams has told teams who he wants and teams have told him who he can have and the two lists don’t line up so until they do offers won’t come to fruition. I don’t believe Adams has gotten far with negotiations. But if Adams were serious about making this happen I believe it could end amicably for everyone tomorrow.
  11. Thank you! The last we heard about this I believe was that no teams have gotten it and that Adams wouldn’t give access unless a team came close to what he was asking. I think that’s a piss poor play on Adams’ part because nobody is going to risk an offer leaking and pissing those players off forever without knowing the medicals fully.
  12. Adams has played this poorly. It’s clear he wants this team to move forward without Eichel and has wanted as much for a long time, possibly the entire time he’s held the job. Eichel doesn’t want to be here and is clearly turning over every stone to force his way out. The injury was a wrench into the plan and Sabres fans have done a fantastic job trying to suppress what that does to his value. He’s an injured star with a big contract. The dream of the massive package is an unrealistic one. But there should still be good packages out there so I should qualify that assuming reasonable packages are on the table you take the best one and move on. Being deliberate is a great way to build culture. Adams hasn’t shown the ability to do that just yet.
  13. If Beane were running the Sabres I believe Eichel would’ve been gone, probably for a lesser package than we want but a better package than Adams has been offered so far. Everything I know so far tells me Beane would’ve handled the situation better both internally and externally. Beane was and is deliberate and seems to know how to build. You don’t build a champion on moldy foundation. It’s time to get the best offer for Jack and move on.
  14. I don’t remember there being that much anger. Maybe it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten?
  15. It’s been a rough few days but my fever broke and hopefully the rest will follow shortly. Thank you! I remember the reaction to the Dareus trade being pretty much that it sucked he flamed out and that he had to go. I don’t remember there being a major negative reaction. I remember strong responses on both sides to the Darby and Watkins deals.
  16. The sudden boom of them trading Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby in one fell swoop was the moment we all should’ve known everything had changed.
  17. The run game can’t be much worse than last year and Sanders is indeed a big upgrade. If we get the same or better Allen then this offense will continue to be elite … and from what we’ve seen so far this preseason along with his overall career trajectory I think we can expect an even getter Josh Allen. Kyle Brandt of NFL Network’s Good Morning Football (the best sports talk show on TV - even if they lost their best talent last week) says he thinks Josh Allen will be the best player in all of football next year.
  18. As fun as it is being allowed by the mods to openly insult @Buffalonillhis trolling efforts are boring now, you can ignore him. He’s a loser.
  19. He’s not signing an extension here without seeing what’s out there for him next offseason. He took less money to be here on a one-year deal because he was confident it was set him up well to find starting options next year. I don’t see any scenario where he signs an extension here unless he finds zero starting options next offseason. The Bills winning a Super Bowl would make it even less likely. Especially considering his age he’s not going to want to throw away prime years of earning and performance potential for some mystical role holding a clipboard for a good team.
  20. Maybe it’s because I’m battling covid and I can’t even think straight but no matter how many times I read your question I don’t understand what you’re saying lol This team would need to suddenly be a contender for even a shot at changing Jack’s mind and I’m not sure even that would change things. It’s not happening anyways. He wants out and will get out.
  21. That is definitely not what this thread is or has been until the last couple days.
  22. I am honestly shocked by this fanbase’s loyalty to the very franchise they’ve watched ***** the bed for over a decade now. They don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt here. It requires big logical jumps to get to the point where you feel the team may be doing this right. Luckily fan perception doesn’t matter because every other fanbase thinks the Sabres look absolutely ridiculous here. Problem is I don’t think for a second that sentiment isn’t also held in front offices around the league. This very well could be a situation that makes players not want to be here (we already know many don’t) and other organizations not want to do business with us. The Bills being good has blinded Sabres fans into believing they’re only one or two right moves away from turning it all around suddenly but the fact is this isn’t football and there is no comparable to an elite QB that can turn this all around. This team is a dozen moves from being relevant and they can’t get any of them wrong. This is about as bad a situation they could be in, even if the league and PA side with them.
  23. Nobody struggled because of fan noise. They went 2-1 in the playoffs when competition gets way tougher. Apply this to the Browns. Why did they ***** themselves against the Chad Henne-led Chiefs?
