  1. The answer to your first question is yes, second is $6.1M, third is 1 year. He signed an offer sheet knowing full well that may be the deal he would be playing with the Canadiens on. They know if the desert is ever going to survive it needs a megastar. If they can get the ball rolling with a star in an upcoming draft and position themselves to land Auston Matthews at the end of his contract they could build something worth talking about. Of course, the situation is a bit dire with their lease expiring in a year.
  2. I think the best course of action would’ve been to sign KK to a bridge deal before it got to this point but signing Aho to an incredibly easy to match contract was their first mistake in this entire ordeal.
  3. It’s a long winding road. Disney acquired 21st Century Fox which included something like two dozen regional Fox Sports networks which put those networks streaming on their ESPN+ platform with Fox Sports graphics packages. Courts forced Disney to sell the regional networks so they were sold to Sinclair who then sold the branding rights to Bally.
  4. It will still be online. ESPN+ has actually been broadcasting hockey since last season because they acquired rights from regional networks in the Fox Sports acquisition. The NHL is an established brand, they’re not going to conjure up a whole new audience just because they had a show for a few weeks. The work is going to take years - they’ll need to put in the work and establish a voice again in the hockey market.
  5. The season is over a month away and the NHL doesn’t carry the fandom the NFL and NBA have so they’re not going to spend much time in the offseason giving them shows or coverage when nothing at all is happening.
  6. I believe some of the recent several-hundred million dollar renovations were done to address structural issues, no? If that’s the case, that tells me it’s not only time logically but also structurally. Bandaid solutions for possible structural issues isn’t going to get it done. Blow it up. Should we wait until the moment before collapse to build a new stadium or is it better to be proactive about safety when it comes to large structures?
  7. Berrios was a questionable move (not him specifically, just the haul they gave up for him) but they did a whole lot of nothing else and had a chance to swing bigger there.
  8. Yea he’s got that in the bag. Could probably suck down the stretch and still walk away with the MVP. If he performs like this for the rest of his career I honestly don’t know how he isn’t MVP every year.
  9. This is definitely the year to steal a Cy Young. Not a lot of great competition in the AL for pitchers right now. If he finishes strong he could steal it.
  10. This isn’t about me not wanting to post in here. It was about me saying this report is full of *****. Back off.
  11. Now that we’re a few days removed from this report and nobody reputable has backed it up we can agree it’s false and move on.
  12. 24 games would never be enough for me. I never asked for multiple pieces of Zegras’ quality. I agree with you.
  13. I’m not talking about Zegras as a prospect. I love Zegras as a prospect and I want him. But he has not PROVEN (that’s the only word I want you to focus on) a damn thing in the NHL. We know nothing about what he is in the NHL yet. You don’t flip your franchise player for a single unproven piece.
  14. Same. I like what I’ve seen and it gives me hope he’ll be a damn good player. You’re very stuck on this WJC thing but none of this discussion has anything to do with it. He hasn’t proven anything at the NHL level. There are a number of players I’d trade Eichel for one-for-one but none of them can be called prospects.
  15. I couldn’t tell you how he has done in the WJC. Very good, I think? He has proven nothing in the NHL, that is what the statement means. He has proven nothing in the NHL, period.
  16. The post you responded to have literally nothing to do with the WJC and I don’t have a weird aversion to it nor have I posted about it frequently. You must be thinking of someone else. It’s doubtful, for sure. But I’m not trading the franchise player for him straight up. It’s highly unlikely he ever even gets close to Eichel’s level.
  17. Those are terrible trades. Zegras is definitely of interest but he has proven nothing. He flames out and in two years you’re left with nothing. Same with the other. Easy no.
  18. Monahan has very little value so they’re not giving all that up for him.
  19. John Brown is not going to be on a practice squad.
  20. Thanks for this, I wasn’t aware of Graham’s report. That’s good info to keep in mind going forward.
  21. I don’t think anyone has a problem with the price tag.
  22. Not sure how accurate this is because the numbers keep moving. The $400M for the Sabres stadium was part of a reported initial proposal of $1.5B. This is $1.4B and mentions the Bills stadium exclusively so who knows what the latest is.
