He actually embraced "T-Mobile" (probably because he signed an endorsement deal with them).

Thanks, Bio!

If we trade Risto it better be for PK Subban, Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty, Roman Josi, Brent Burns or maybe two other defenseman in the league. None of these are options.

The Canadian dollar and geographic imbalance killed QC before they started. I am very excited for Vegas, the $500M fee for the league and the league being the first to go to Vegas. It's bold and risky, but I'm hoping it works. The sport has plenty of talent to get this done. Also excited for this to be the first expansion draft where I was actually able to follow what's going on.

Or, in his case, you win some you win some.

Correct. I probably have a minor excess of protein since chicken, eggs and the shakes are a regular part of my diet, but I could do better with my overall diet. And the mental thing is probably the main reason I keep myself going.

Joe Manganiello, actor and Sofia Vargara's husband, won NHL.com's bracket challenge.

I've been at my new gym for about four and a half months now and I love it. The equipment is great and plentiful and there's never a suffocating crowd. Everybody keeps to themselves for the most part and moves from machine to machine with little hovering. I've been running at the beginning of every workout which has always been a challenge for me due to asthma but it's a breeze now. It gets me sweating and kicks everything off so well. I am definitely noticing a lot of small muscle growth throughout (I generally work everything out throughout the week). And the biggest transformation has been mentally. I don't feel nearly as much (at the risk of revealing a personal matter) depressed and don't feel so easily defeated throughout the day. Oddly I also feel way less hungry which is probably due to the protein shakes and being too exhausted to overeat.

http://apne.ws/1ro1GET Story doesn't indicate the year they'll be coming in which is confusing since the recommendation was already made. Maybe they'll make the recommendation as an either/or and let owners vote. Also, the committee that makes the recommendation is made up of nine owners so technically the BOG will need 15 of 21 teams to approve it to get this done.

Posted this in the wrong thread: The NHL schedule will be released June 20th barring any changes. What a week that will be for offseason sports fans: June 20th - NHL schedule June 22nd - NHL gov meeting for expansion and NHL Awards June 23rd - NBA Draft June 24th and 25th - NHL Draft

Neither are legit. One is just a fan page and the other is a fanboy. (But I don't doubt that both are technically accurate despite their source)

It is indeed fun to think about but I imagine Hall only moves for a top-pairing dman which Risto would be our only offer there and I wouldn't do that.

One of the Ducks top players (I believe it was Kesler) specifically called out Carlyle) a couple days ago saying they need a coach that actually pushes his players and doesn't play favorites.

If the main pieces in a deal were Samson Reinhart, Mark Pysyk, 8 for Taylor Hall and 4 I would miss the sky. I absolutely love Samson but there's no way that's enough to get Taylor Hall.

It's not usually a gentlemen's agreement. Teams have actually traded draft picks to the expansion franchises before to get the deals done. I'm sure there will be some backdoor deals going on but the league is going to great lengths to prevent it and there's no real reason to risk it. It's hard to hide things these days with so many people in the room and so many measures taken to prevent it. It also doesn't make sense to try to do a "backdoor" deal to get the team to take Evander when there's no reason to expose such a good, young player and also no way Vegas would pass him up if he was exposed anyways.
-
I think the NHL has said they will not allow teams to make deals to guarantee expansion draft selection or deals to prevent certain players from being taken. Also, there's no way they just give Evander away. Moulson is definitely one of the two required exposed players. The second will likely be somebody who is signed to an extension or a veteran they bring in on a two-year deal (there will be a lot of veterans who should be working on one-year deals that will get two this offseason just to be exposed in the expansion draft. I keep forgetting that the expansion team isn't going to be purely what they get from the expansion draft - they'll have plenty of money to spend in free agency. As a player I would definitely find starting a whole new hockey tradition in a new city appealing.
-
Maybe I'm underestimating how bad those teams were. :D I guess I'm more focused on the league saying the team will be competitive. Chances are it won't be.

I have been confident for awhile now that Jaqen was grooming Arya to be more ready to fight back against the Lannisters, last night proved that theory in my mind.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/nhl-teams-begin-to-learn-guidelines-for-likely-expansion-draft-in-2017/article30400443/ Expansion team will be placed third in next year's lottery. Also, forgot the option that allows teams to do "eight skaters" instead of seven forwards and three defenseman. It takes two protected players away but it'll make the talent pool even worse considering certain teams like Nashville and Winnipeg could easily go with that to protect their four defenders. Might expose more decent forwards but the league is wrong by saying they are going to make this team more competitive than expansion teams of the past.

Crosby gets the Conn Smythe. I'm convinced that Phil Kessel should've won that one. Crosby is the best player in the game and definitely was the best player at times in this series. Also, the booing of Bettman is a little stale. I know every league does it, but I would've liked to hear a team getting honored more than focusing on the booing.

I'm not really upset. The city of Pittsburgh doesn't need anymore championships, but the best player in the world get his second Cup. Strange note - the Penguins won the cup wearing jerseys they'll never wear again.
-
Braun gets a Penguins defender to overcommit on a shot-blocking attempt and just shovels it over to his partner instead of firing a shot. Man in front (Zubrus?) all alone defers to Thorton (who is allergic to scoring goals) and ends up with a turnover instead of a scoring change.

I would absolutely take Nash if we strike out on Stamkos and Okposo and the price is relatively low. His contract won't impact long-term plans in any way and he helps us keep competitive while grooming younger forwards in the system properly.

Pavelski with a yawning case and completely misses. He went from established star to nobody in a matter of a few games.
